The point was that whenever there is a transfer story and Harry Redknapp is asked to comment on it, its more likely than not that he will say he tried to sign him. Especially if the player is English.
You have to love how Fergie is always looking to the future. He's not QUITE likely to enjoy Phil Jones's entire career, not even the peak of it, but he sees a talent for Mancehster United and he gets it, period.
