If that is true SAF must think very highly of him.

#mufc interest in Jones dates back 18 months, but Fergie wanted to wait til next summer. Lpool move has forced their hand.

this is a reply on Sky spsorts site from somebody called Sam_4mu
This is a ridiculous signing. 18million for an overated player and to make matters worse we are spending 35 million on de gae and young. we need to buy game changers like sneijder and alexis sanchez
Have these deals been sorted or is Sam_4mu talking bollocks?
Smalling turned Arsenal down, too.
No, it's called sarcasm. Don't make me slap you, boy.

Arsenal fans are gutted. First Smalling and now Jones
They've signed someone else apparently...another for Wenger's project
My post was a sarcastic response to Redpie and Valentino's threads you miserable sods. Lighten up. At least Lance understands me.

Sky say he spoke to Wenger last night, but chose United. They imply that Liverpool were not his alternative choice, Arsenal were.
According to SSN he actually turned down Arsenal to sign for us, not Liverpool.
Interesting, and not something that has happened lately with young players so very good news!

I'm slightly worried by this. Jones would have walked straight into Arsenal's side, but as things currently stand, he will only be one of three players challenging the first choice pairing for a place at United. Presumably Fergie has given the lad assurances that he'll get plenty of games, so could this possibly mean United might cash in on Vidic?
sorry I will take my back.

Never seen this guy play.
But at a loss as to why we're spending 16m on him when we're already well served for central defenders.
The positions we need are:-
Goalkeeper, 2 Central Midfield Players, & at least 1 possibly 2 wingers.
Hope this doesn't mean we can't got the extra 3 million to land an attacking player!
When was the last time we have given assurances to a young player on number of appearances?

I think short term his future looks like it could be in the middle.

Almost 100% certainly.
