PGA and European Tour Golf 2016

Oooh Spieth with his first bogey of the tournament. Spiral on the cards?

Edit: It was a double!

I have the VPN set to California and I'm watching the CBS coverage online. They have two featured groups, Amen corner and holes 15 & 16. Between those and the coverage on the telly I'm getting most of it but you're right, it's a pain in the arse.

Yeah we can get the same here in the UK with Red Button coverage, but it's still shite really. You can watch Amen corner or a featured couple from like 2 or 4pm here on the red button, but it's still not the same as full coverage.

Spieth just can't miss putts at the moment, driving straight as hell too. He's got this in the bag.

If McIlroy can sink this Eagle putt it could make things interesting. Especially if Spieth had another dodgy hole between now and the end of the round. Remember how hard Rory came back over the weekend last year and he was a lot further back than this.

Oh yeah, for sure, just trying my hardest to Noonan the shit out of him.

As I've said Ad nauseam Spieth is a great golfer and a nice chap, but he bores the shit out of me at times, so robotic and safe. Nothing wrong with that, and the perfect way to play, but just not always the best to watch. Sometimes he is 5 or 6 under on a round and you won't have noticed him do anything spectacular at all and he won't have hit any amazing shots, just drive, fairway, iron/wedge, green, putt = birdie. Rinse and repeat. He's probably one of the best that I've ever seen at it to be honest.

Agreed. He epitomises the discipline I wish I had out on the course, but it doesn't make for good tv at all!

Suddenly McIlroy is in second, 3 shots behind Spieth. If he can finish strongly on the final holes he can at least give himself a competitive score going into the weekend. That's if Spieth doesn't race ahead on his back 9.

Wind has picked up hugely. Getting in safely at -3 would put Rory in a nice position.

I'm sure he doesn't mean to be so feckin patronising and condescending but that's how Monty always comes across. Irritates me no end at times.

What the feck happened to Sergio? He was -2 when I saw him last and he finished on +3 :( He must have had a mare on the last few holes, :(

Spieth dropping a shot just before he hits Amen Corner. Rory has gone foraging in the woods on 18 but if he can save par here I reckon he could be leading by the end of the day.

I saw him go into the water a while ago.

Ah :( Feck it, really don't want him to do a Monty. He deserves a major, he really does. You wouldn't have believed he wouldn't win one if you go back 15 years, or Westwood. You would say they were both nailed on to win at least one each.

I'm not sure the Masters will be the one he wins though. I like him but I don't think he has the ruthlessness to close out a Sunday at Augusta. Always thought he might win an Open.

Yeah, I agree, or a US or PGA depending on the course. He should have had an Open though but he threw it away and Padraig held his nerve and took it off him. Didn't he throw 2 away? Or was it just the one?

Brilliant, brilliant save from Rory. -1 is a fine score today.

I think it was two majors and wasn't it Harrington both times. The second may have been a USPGA though?

Great recovery and par put for Rory at the 18, in these conditions. I don't see Spieth running away now, plenty of opportunities to drop shots today.

This French kid is having a week dreams are made of! Playing with Spieth and Casey and more than holding his weight!

Yeah, he's playing nicely.

Spieth looking miffed as well now, not surprising reall, he doesn't take things too well at times. And it's the worst I think I've seen Phil play with a wedge today. He's been awful.

I don't think I've seen a man get so angry at the wind since the days of Charlie Chaplin.

 He did it last year on a course that reminds me of one of the made up fantasy courses on Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf. Think it might have been Whistling Straits for last years US Open.

All feels a bit flat today. Stupid coverage, most of the best players must have been out this morning and not too much going on at the moment.

Another great retiring as well. Thanks for the memories Tom Watson!

Always been one of my favourite players to watch Watson. He sits alongside Fred Couples with the nicest looking swings in golf. What a gentleman as well.
