PGA and European Tour Golf 2016

Rory hitting a lazy 8 iron second into the par 5 . I'd need to hit 3 drives to reach there.

Jason Day making 2 double bogeys in a row. I reckon he had Monty's commentary in his ear as he was playing those shots. It's enough to put anyone off. By feck do I miss Peter Allis. :(

So harsh on Moore that! Whole width of the green to land in and the ball decides to crack off the middle of the flag and bounce back 40 feet into the drink!

 I reckon driver + 3 wood but it's still depressing

 that'll do it

Well it's safe to say all my bets are bolloxed already. Bubba you useless twat!

Wonderful round of golf from Shane Lowry. Very unlucky with two hanging putts in the last two holes as well or he could have gone in level with Spieth.

Spieth is 6 under with a 66. Not a good OMEN! He's done for, I've Noonan'd him now.

Don't think Rory's game is quite there yet.. Could just see the swagger coming back and he shites it.

I like Ernie, but that first hole is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Great first day. Speith is a machine around Augusta. But he has more mistakes in his game this time around I think. Don't see it being plain sailing for him. Obviously, he's going to win by 8 shots now that I've said that.

Really hope Shane Lowry can put in another decent round and keep himself in the hunt over the weekend.

Let's just say my approach to eating, drinking and body conditioning would be closer to his than to Rory's or Adam Scott's.

I dont think it's eating, drinking or body conditioning that has any of those guys where they are though. It's the hours put in on the golf course that matters, where I'd imagine he works just as hard as anyone on tour. I'm not saying being fit doesn't help. But it's much less important if you're a golfer.

I'd say you are right. Which is why I said it gives hope to us all. You don't necessarily have to be an adonis, just willing to put in the work to improve.

Birdie at 2 for McIlroy. Would love to see him go on a run because if Speith comes out still in the lead, I can see him pulling away with a big smug head on him later on.

It's almost unbelievable what Els is doing with the putter. It's one thing having the yips and pulling or pushing at your stroke, but he's lining up to them all wrong in the first place.

Consecutive birdies for McIlroy now, good early signs.

Edit: well that escalated quickly.
