It wouldn't be a big surprise for me if Carrick gets it...I'd say he'd be the most likable person to other players and people quite often will opt for the outsider.

Him being 19 or it being his first season, is all irrelevant when you're putting him in the team of the year though.
You can't judge Kompany or Evans/Rio on higher standards but him lower because he's 19. That's the point.
Same with Vertonghen/Jagielka/Chico.
I don't really have an opinion to whether he should be in the team but his age and experience shouldn't come into it - it should be the 'team of the year' as in the best performer for each position getting in.

Carrick is used to holding a midfield together all by himself. It's workable I think.

He struck form early this year. Before that he was bit hit and miss really.

Yeah it might work, but he's never played there so we'll never know. I'd rather someone who actually had a good season in midfield be picked instead. Hazard should have been competing with Mata and Bale for a spot out wide.
Yeah...Hazard shouldn't be in it. At least Fellaini can play in CM and he has been good to boot. Hazard has aswell but not team of the year material for me.

He seems to flick in and out of games whilst being no where near as productive as Mata. Good but not better than any of the attacking players who have taken the those spots in the team which is why he's shoehorned into midfield.

Vidic probably hasn't played enough.
Doesn't really matter that Hazard is out of position, or whatever. I don't think they really considered the positional discipline of the picks for the team of the year, and it probably just proves that there's not been many stand out CM's in the league this year, if any other than Carrick.

I don't think any player ever talked bad about Carrick. He must be one of the most likeable footballers in the league.
