Pepe Reina?

I'm finding I agree with the Chief more and more over the years.

Disturbing.

Rather it's because I am certain Reina is no worth 20 m and isn't as good as Van dEr sar in any shape or form .

I'm not the type to fail to praise player just because they play for a club or football nation I detest.

Typical fanboish bullshit:lol:

As I said not a fanboi of Reina, so pointless putting that last part in. But great point anyway.

Please explain other that just 'he isnt that good' how he isnt as good as VDS in any shape or form?! Crazy comment.

Sam, how many mistakes has he made this season that has cost you a goal?

One, off the top of my head. I am not arguing he doesn't make mistakes though. All 'keepers do.

I am saying he''s not a calamity. And now Chief is saying he falls apart after making mistakes and cites the Arsenal game as an example.

The point which escapes the Chief is that Liverpool didn't concede another goal after his error.

As I say, it's noise. All of it.

Neuer, Julio Ceasar, Diego Lopez, De Gea. None of them would cost us 20M. Even a Buffon if we could convince him to move. Rather than spend 20m on Reina I'd rather sign a keeper not too far from his level like the Dutch number 1, Adler or Lloris..

It's all about opinions.

I hope Ferguson goes for someone unproven on the cheap as you say. Then he can repeat mistakes of yesteryear and the Utd 'keeper merry-go-round can start all over again.

It really isn't. Anyone who isn't as needlessly biased like you often are can tell which keeps are top draw and which ones are a notch below that.

He will go for a cheap and truly class keeper. Leaving you with your overrated 20m pound man.

So, as many as VDS has cost us this season then?

I would welcome Reina with open arms. The only weak part of his game that I see, is his kicking. Not kicking out of his hands, obviously.

Chief he conceded the own goal against Arsenal in the 90th minute.
Or Yes and he didn't flap about at all afterwards.
Just like he wasn't a culprit for Spain swallowing 4....

You. Are, Making. It. Up. As. You. Go. Along.
In your most desperate dreams. I've seen him cost you many games. But you'll defend him the same way you defend Rafa. But that's typical of you. So you can carry on. It won't change a thing.

Wtf??

I feel like a Liverpool fan at the moment, but seriously thats clutching at staws.

Cost them many games?

Truly class 'keepers won't be cheap.
Oh yes they will be. They won't cost 20m. I can guarantee it.

I hope he goes for cheap and unproven. De Gea would be perfect. Go for him.
We will go for men like Neuer. Stelkenbur even. Rather than waste 20m on your overrated baldy when we have more areas of our team that need attention. In case you haven't noticed, weren't in the habit of making Aquillani an Robbie Keane type signings. We learned the hard way with Veron. That is why we still win trophies and Liverpool does not

Yes. I'm betting you didn't watch a number of their defeats last season and in season's past. Just a season or two back against Chelsea he was a culprit for some of their goals in the champions league. In both legs! Barthez was crucified for doing similar against Real.

De Gea has time on his side, and has talent from what I've seen.

I think he will be top drawer as well.

I don't imagine he has the experience Ferguson is after though. Would be surprised if he went for De Gea. Hope he does, mind and we can all watch the teething problems!

I think if Reina had been costing Liverpool a lot of games, we might have heard about it from our resident scousers. They watch all of their games, after all.

I'd like to see experience as well. Certainly for now.

With De Gea I think you have to expect the problems that go with it if you want the long term rewards. That being said it's all about how a young keeper comes back from mistakes mentally...he'll have that to come.

Yes, and they were all down to Reina
I never said they were. I've just repoatedly said he made gaffes in those games. He isn't strictly a one error a season keeper like a VDS. Especially last year and the year before he was not. Also when he makes a major errors on a big occasion they are most costly and most comical. Just like Barthez. That own goal is a classic example.

Even if you pay a large fee for the likes of Neuer or De Gea the chances are you can recoup most of it back or make a substantial profit after 5 years due to their age and potential to improve even further. With Reina, although a safer bet you need to write off 20 Million pounds over the course of his contract, together with his salary would then make him a very expensive acquisition.

For a young guy, Neuer has a fair bit of experience and looks very good. Ferguson is more likely to jump in for him. Liverpool would, I imagine, if Reina jumps ship.
