'Pep' Guardiola sack watch

Guardiola is a twitchy fecking weirdo when his teams are winning 25 games in a row and going a year unbeaten.

Will be genuinely fascinating to see how he copes if it really is all imploding at City and they lose regularly for a while.

...genuinely.

The bad news though is that Pep would probably not have signed the contract extension if he really thought City were going to be penalised by the PL for the financial irregularities.
I don't know, I think it's possible they just threw so much money his way that he said "fine". He knows there isn't a comparable job with unlimited funds out there, and he's never been one with morals anyway. Maybe he's gambling on the punishment being delayed so he can feck off before they actually bite the bullet. Who knows for sure.

The results are bad enough but I haven’t seen a City team with so little fight. They’re losing 50-50’s, not closing down allowing teams to get right up into their back line and dare I say it look lazy at times

Never thought I’d see that in a Pep side. The record they have without Rodri is also absolutely baffling I mean he must carry this side so much

It's quite possible that the expectation of a massive 25-30+ points reduction and an inevitable mid-table finish (at best) is taking its toll somewhat on player motivation.

Is this the first time in his career he hasn't had the best set of players in the league? Factoring in the injuries.

The most logical reason behind pep signing a new deal is that he knows City are going to be rightfully relegated and he wants to prove he can achieve something with them that is actually their level, a playoff push in the championship perhaps.

Pep is no fool, he knows as well as the rest of us do that every single thing city have ever “won*” essentially doesn’t count because it was achieved through financial doping and cheating.
Would be hilarious seeing him spending 200m in the championship, yet them doing the usual squaring it up "In the books", and then winning 45 out of 46 games that season. With an inevitable defeat against some random team away.

I’m sure he’ll spunk a good deal in January for a Rodri replacement to get his title charge back on track.

It'll be long gone by then. They'll be 11 points behind after Anfield. And Slot doesn't seem the "i'd luv it" rant down type.

For me, it suggests the players have been prepared for what the likely outcome of the cheating will be, and its bad.

Being in poor form is one thing, but those guys have given up.

The players won’t have any more clue as to what is coming than we do. It’s the uncertainty along with missing Rhodri.

Who in their right mind would go there in January when there is a good chance they are going to be relegated to non-league?
If you shove enough money under the table, pay for new houses for the parents and offer the player’s nan a six figure sum to be employed as the club’s official tea lady I’m sure they’d take it.

Come on people we've all given ourselves a semi so it looks like you have an absolute chopper

Because he's devised a bizarre best case scenario where City get an absolute beast punishment and basically just disappear.

When everyone knows there will be some sort of deal reached where they get say 30% of the charges proven, 15-25 points deducted, a fine and some sort of transfer ban - probably suspended.

As I understand it they would have to apply to join tbe EFL and it would be down to the EFL member clubs to vote on whether to accept them and I doubt tbe member clubs would be in favour of accepting them as they would basically be taking promotion spots away from the clubs already in the EFL.
