Heynckes is 67 and his contract expires in the summer.
So, he is going to die next year?

You have to wonder which manager City and Chelsea will be turning to now. Mourinho is the obvious choice, but who else is on the market?
So what now about City paying those big prices to lure Pep's former assistants away to Eastlands? If it was their game plan to entice Pep there it makes them look stupid also.
I'm glad he's gone there. Fantastic club
So, he is going to die next year?
Well guess all those meetings SAF was supposedly having with Pep in NYC were not about Pep taking over the United job next season then.
Good fit for him I think. Top club, chance to prove himself capable at someplace other than Barca.
With this move it seems more and more likely to be the next Man Utd manager
Chelsea job vacant - refuses to take it.
Man City job - Mancini seems settled
Man Utd job - with Fergie stating he would be around for a few years.....
All this does is further prove that Guillem Balague doesn't have a clue.
Maybe he's wanting to bide his time until a certain job is up for grabs..
He's still very young. Fair play to him for choosing class over money.
It seems Bayern have finally realised after more than a decade of underachieving that having a quality manager for the long term to compliment their players is the way forward. I guess Dortmund have illustrated what to others what blindingly obvious.
I can see Pep doing really well.
he said he kind of expected it.
He was on twitter saying he wasn't going to bayern only 2 days ago
If you listened to the English media you would think that Jose and Pep are the only two good coaches in the world.
I am now convinced he will be our next manager. Pep will hang around at Bayern for 2/3 years. Then once Fergie retires, he'll come along to take up the mantle.
I was convinced he would go to the PL next season, but in my opinion he's stalling just so he could come in and join us once the job is available.
Nevertheless, its a great move for him.
Another step in the right direction for German football. Once Sir Alex retires German football will potentially have two of the top three managers in the world and there's a real possibility that German football will go on to be the top league in Europe in a few years. He might well be interested in the United job but I'd say the reason he chose Bayern over City or Chelsea is simply that Bayern are a better team in a league that's on the up.
Not reading to much into this but...
Fergie and Pep have met several times over the last few months.
Pep says he wants to manage in England
Fergie recently says he'll go 3 more years.
and he could of easily gone to City or Chelsea this summer..
Trying not to put 2 and 2 together and get 5. But muppetry says we know who will be replacing Fergie.
Yeah, Bayern's squad looks immense and they outplayed both City and Chelsea last season in the Champions League (I do realise they lost the final, but it was incredible luck for Chelsea more than anything). They also have the money to spend as proven by €30m they spent on Martinez so Guardiola will be free to bring a few new players.
Wishful thinking imo mate, you're letting your love for United cloud your judgement.
The German league is fantastic and on the up. Bayern are the best team in the league and a squad thats capable of winning every trophy. He'l be working with top players in a top league. He'l be getting the freedom to do things his own way too.
Why would he pack everything in and leave just because the United job becomes available/?
