Not in this way we havent.

Barcelona have a European Super cup game to play with Messi and Neymar only just coming back for pre season. Since the start it has been claimed that Barca wanted him til that game.
Seems strange there risking a 30mill deal going through by playing him in the super cup . What if he gets injured ? (Unless of course they don't want him to go)

There's a whole lot of "we don't want him to go, but .... " coming out of Barcelona. €30m is a great price for a player of his quality.

They don't want him to go so an injury of perhaps a few weeks might be enough to call the transfer off. Hope he doesn't get injured and is signed on Wednesday after the cup final.

The fact we haven't sealed this yet tells me we have something more hollywood lined up.

Wishful thinking, but I suspect there's more to the Bale links, regardless of how tenuous they might seem so far.

It's nuts more clubs aren't in for him at this price. We certainly need him. Chelsea could certainly upgrade on Willian/Cuadrado on the right. Perhaps Arsenal could use him for the many times OxCham is injured, and how little end product they'll get out of Welbeck. Maybe even City? He's infinitely better than Nasri and Navas. Bayern could do worse too, as Robben and Ribery always seem to be injured, and Pep doesn't seem to fancy Gotze.

Don't think we're getting Bale at all. It seems clear to me he doesn't want to play for us. Even if Madrid would sell him, I don't think we should go for another Madrid 'reject'. Want some commitment from any more incoming player.

How often is there any sort of public saga for a player with more than one club involved?

By the time it gets public, it's almost always because the players reps and buying club want to put it in motion. It would be daft for a club that has no real agreement with the player to start bidding when another club is interested.

I don't think he'd be opposed to coming here at all, I'd imagine his sentiments are only for him to save face and not look like a coward ala Di Maria.

Also, considering two of Madrid's previous 'rejects' (Robben and Sneijder) had played the best football of their careers post-Madrid, not to mention spearheaded their respective teams to trebles, I'd happily take another 'reject' off them :)

Well, only if they sell these 'rejects' for peanuts... I might reconsider my stance then:D

I had the same thought. Pep seems to rate Pedro and for that Price he should be interesting enough for him.

Seems Sky Italia reporting that the deal is imminent. How would they get the information before Spanish sources?

I doubt Pedro was willing to go to enough teams to get a bidding war going. Arsenal have Sanchez in that same role, Chelsea have Hazard, City just bought Sterling. He probably didn't want to go to PSG, and Bayern are set and Juve were probably priced out.

Don't think they would sell him to Real.

I hope this thread becomes a wonderland of muppetry tomorrow morning. He's going to be a fantastic addition if we sign him.

Possibly the most underrated player in the last 7 years.

As Pep said, essentially ,if his name was Pedrinho he'd be called a legend and be rated at 50m (this was back when Ronaldo was the biggest ever transfer still).

Pedro is an exotic enough name, surely? If he was called Darren Carruthers i could understand it.

His dribbling ability looks very impressive on youtube. Runs with high speed with the ball and can quickly change direction...an attribute no one at the club has right now. He could be even better than expected in England considering how shit the defending is here

Pedro is a generic name in the world of world class players like "Cristiano Ronaldo" and "Lionel Messi" and "Ashley Young" and "Zlatan Ibrahinovich".

Pedro is very "Bebe" when you hear it. Pedriniho sounds much better.

Thanks for the scouting report.

im not buying all this where waiting till after the super cup nonsense, i just think where trying to find someone better, and havnt decided to invest 22 million in him yet

Its got to the stage where getting Pedro is absolutely critical to our success this season. In all honesty, we need Pedro + 1.

If we go into the season with our attacking options as they are, there's no chance we're finishing anything better then 4th. We simply don't have the firepower to compete with Chelsea/City/Arsenal. And I don't see our defence being able to grind out enough clean sheets to allow us to get away with low scoring games.

Really don't expect this to happen until Barca-Sevilla, especially now Neymar is out. Best we can do is just wait it out and see whether he waves goodbye to Barca at the end

Confident he's ours though. This summer seems to show that if there's smoke, there tends to be fire when it comes to our rumoured targets.

have we had a cock out signing this season? :(

i miss the days of cocks out for di marias and falcaos and matas and rvps and vidals
Schweinsteiger. It is something wrong with you if you didn't have cock out.

Media need to learn what the word imminent means. Because this has been imminent for about 3 weeks now.

Sign him already!

Bastian fecking Schweinsteiger. I didn't even have to tug Varun Jr, he had a mind of his own once the signing was confirmed.

It is strange to see some people moaning about the potential signing of one of the most consistent Barca players for the last years.

Especially given the fact he is exactly what we need and has a reasonable price tag.
