They play Bilbao in Super cup not Atletico. Anyway, I am not saying they should ignore those games but they are not the kind of games to hold a transfer for. Worst case they lose those 2 ties, it is not going to take away anything from last season's treble. If they win, they can go on about sextuple etc but no one actually counts it seriously. United however can use Pedro for games that matter...we have a crunch CL play off tie plus league starting 2 week before theirs. It is also not if they don't have options. They can play Munir, Rafinha etc.

My bad Bilbao. They only want him til the european Super cup game. By then Messi/Neymar would atleast have had 2 games under their belt.

Excellent signing (if the confirmation is legit) -- will do well here I think.

Although I'm very much in the "sign another top attacker" camp, especially with Di Maria gone.

I think Ed Woodward wants a marquee signing more than the fans. I am plenty happy with signing Pedro. The 2011 European Cup final still gives me nightmares...

he might be fit, but not "match fit". he might even be "match fit", but still lacking "match rhythm" here at United...

well have him for Villa game to prepare for playoff and I'm fine
True. LVG only breaks his philosophy for. Injury crisis. Everyone is fit so may not make sense to hurry up this transfer.

Somebody claimed earlier that he's not as good a player as Mata. I think he's better, and would be our third/fourth best player, if he joined. He's had the bext schooling a player could receive over the last five or six years.

He's one of those players that only the Club he plays for will really appreciate and see the true wort he brings to the team.

I hope so because I'm sure I've watched him countless times and barely noticed him.

Ofc Barca want him to stay. 30m euro isn't very exciting deal for them anyway, so why not keep him as a backup.

Excited by this possible signing.....

Anxious at the same time tho.... a knock to Neymar etc and he'll get the assurances he needs

Need to wrap it up very soon

He will fit in at this club in every way Di Maria was never going to. Excellent signing and now the real 3 amigos. Herrera, mata and pedro?

He is a better winger than mata and only that matters.

A good read, I actually think it undersells him a little too. He can be a match winner in terms of finding the opening, feeding others for the goal or even making the breakthrough himself. pedro is a cracking player and I'm as excited about this potential signing as much as I have been for any in a while. I think he'll do really well for us.

This is where my questions lie, will LVG be up to starting the 3 of them or is one of them always going to be sitting at the start? If he does go that way, who will sit among Carrick, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger? Hopefully injuries will not dictate lineups as much as last year and we will get a good idea of what LVG wants to do tactics wise. Personally I was looking forward to seeing more of Mata & Herrera but adding Pedro will probably mean one of those three is sitting every game. Might get glimpses though!

Pedro is a good signing because he matches the tactics and we are lacking a wide player. He is a scorer, not a creative player; if the team gels, he´ll be great, but he won´t make the difference, if the team struggles to create chances.
I´d expect him to replace Mata as right winger and he would be an upgrade. Overall I am not too excited, but the transfer makes sense.

I think he might surprise a few with how much he does create. He is good a good dribbler with the ability to beat a couple of men he might no be Messi but he's an upgrade on what we have.

Decent number of assists(28 I think) for Messi over the last few years backs that up as well.

I tend to get a bit more excited about team players, which Pedro certainly is, than high priced glamour signings like Falcao and Di Maria. We desperately need team players who come in relatively below the radar and without much hype, who can fit into LvG's squad ethos. Memphis, Schneiderlin, Darmian, and Schweinsteiger fit that mold (or as LvG might say "profile"), as does Pedro. A proven winner who was a part of some of two fantastic club and country sides.

So is this actually happening? Ive been reading the same info every day for the last two weeks..Talks are at an advanced stage... Player expected to sign tomorrow etc..Well is it happening?.. Or is it a smokescreen for something else? (food for thought)

Looks like its happening, in fact it may happen in the next few days.

Hopefully I really want it..but it's dragging to long for my liking..although that could be down to the ADM sale! He could do well here especially without the pressure of a high price tag!

I suspect this is a bit like the Schneiderlin transfer. We're the only interested party, and player wants to come, and transfer fee is probably already agreed in principle. So once the bid is officially put in, I think things will move pretty quickly.

If the rumours about Barca wanting to keep him for the Super Cup are true, then there is no point putting in a bid now anyway. Still can't wait to see him in the red shirt though, I really want this deal to happen.
