I don't think Young will be in a starting role after matchday 4, LVG name checked him and said he aint a top player. If we improve our selection (signing Pedro) he'll be the first to get cut I reckon.

I hope he'll be effective and quality, but I'm not sure I would have signed Arda Turan. I'll trust Luis Enrique on this. He is the person who wanted him.

With him probably signing it does make us look good on paper. A front 3 of Memphis, Rooney and Pedro with quality midfielders behind them does make me optimistic. I just know that LvG will line them up in a really awkward way though.

What is his injury record like? I know he hasn't played that much in the recent years but is it only b/c of the competition he faces for the places or did injuries contribute to it too?
He made 35 league apperances last season and 37 the previous season. 28,29,33,34 going further back. Looks ok to me, but you know when he comes to United its a different story, at least hes not a defender.
If this is true he won't feature today against Roma.

Really excited for Pedro. His pace and skill combined - electrifying. If he can handle the physicality of the PL, something Di Maria failed to do, then he will be awesome for us. A trio of Memphis-Rooney-Pedro is just awesome. We've been lacking pace for a while - we will have it back if we get him. Rooney will thrive with it too - seeing Pedro and Memphis making runs past him to be slipped through. I can just imagine it now.

Pedro will be a brilliant signing, but will he be used right? After all Van Gaal's experimentation, and the pre-season shift to 4-2-3-1, who knows where he will use these players?
