Surely there isn't a call to negotiate on a fee that reasonable.

With Di Maria and Rafael's sales our net spend this summer will be down to less than £20m. The wage bill has shrunk by ~£1m/week as well.

Could he take the number 7 shirt if we get him?

If we do get him and he turns out to be our last attacking type of player this window, I'd be reasonably happy if he did get the 7 shirt.

Obviously it's impossible to know how things will turn out for him, and I'm hesitant to get carried away given what we've just been through with Di Maria, but from what I've seen of him over the years I think one thing we'd always get from him is an unquestionable work rate, and that coupled with his undoubted ability and eye for goal would make him a fan favourite and more than likely one of the first names on the team sheet every week.

I want somebody to make the 7 shirt special again, that's long overdue isn't it?

Somethings not right with this transfer, I think we are trying to go all out to get Bale at the expense of Pedro. He performed quite well last night for Barcelona and a few more performances like that between now and the end of the transfer window could open the door to more potential suitors. I hope we don't leave it to long to act on this as I think he would be a brilliant player for us and would compliment the system fantastically. But I fear we will leave it too long and he will decide to go elsewhere.

I feel like the same rumours are getting recycled with not much fresh to report.

1st thing - i love your name man. It cracked me up big time

As regards to your post - i dont think Pedro is plan B at all man. I personally think that Pedro is a better all-round player than Bale & if you believe all the reports & his old club president (his Mum's stating to him that he's going to England) - he's on his way to us; but a fee & transfer date are yet to be completed..

If he signs (I have no idea if we'll do any more business now with all these conflicting reports) I hope he'll be one of those unfancied players who surprises everybody with how good he is.

I wouldnt be too disappointed if Pedro was our last attacking player signed - as he's absolute quality & he will light up OT i am sure off; but i would be furious if we didnt address the CB situation & this whole left-footed / right-footed pairing, is just complete bollox too..

I think he'll be a Rakitic-esque buy for United because people questioned Rakitic' abilities as well but he turned out to be quite a bargain and I can see the same happening with Pedro. Didn't look out of his depth at all last season when he was playing and he's a complete winger in that he can both score and cross very well. He is also very consistent and has a footballing brain far superior to other wingers. Just a few years ago he was destroying defences with Messi and David Villa. Basically, I feel he's still got it in him to perform at his best.

As people say I don't see us announcing anything until Di Maria is announced which makes sense.

Sky Sports should just give up their sources line, its beyond embarrassing what a caricature of themselves they've become.

I think he will be a very quality signing if it comes off, always been a fan of his, and think given the opportunity to start more often, and not be in the shadow of the player Barca have, will do him the world of good. I don't think he'll have the impact of say a Sanchez, but he'll bring traits we were lacking last season. Plus the lad just knows how to finish.

SSN understands...used to be a sure thing. Nowadays it seems they have been left behind by the speed at which news get churned out by mediums such as twitter.

There's just no logical reasons why they have been left behind though is there. It's not like they're spending the big money on the football rights anymore, so at least spend it on being at the forefront of football news. How can such a corporation be beaten to the punch every step of the way this summer? Have they broken any major stories this year.

Thanks very much.

Its the other worrying reports from Balague when he mentioned that there has been no contact between United and Barcelona. I fear we are waiting for something more spectacular, when in fact Pedro is what we actually need. Just buy Pedro and if Bale is available then we should buy him as well.

No problem. No need to put N.Ireland in your location though - everyone knows where Beal Feirste is homebrey :)

"There's been no contact"?

Every man & his dog is saying the complete opposite.

When did Ballsack say that btw?

Opps major brain fart, Ive made the whole thing up in my head. Thatll teach me to skive off work and read transfer tweets on the phone, think Ive read parts of one tweet and mixed it with Balague my bad.

Thanks for the location tip, think I was trying to make my page look more wordy, I have now corrected this as everyone knows where Belfast is.

Belfast, on it's own is way cooler man. I wasnt trying to be a dick about that. I'm from Tyrone btw - hence the Red Hand aspect of my name :)

We will never know for sure.
But what we do know is that Bale has experience of playing in England and was prolific.
Pedro (like Falcao and Di Maria), is a risk.
It may be that Pedro will be huge in England, but Bale comes with a certain level of assurance.

As has been said many times before by LVG, foreign players need time to settle, so Pedro may need a year to acclimatise.
Bale on the other hand should make immediate impact.

I think we are putting feelers out for top players and Pedro is an incase option, we probably enquired about Ramos Benz Ronaldo Muller Bale...

Strange why we arent looking at Reus really...

I really hope we get this one wrapped up soon. I'd hate us to miss out on him because we're chasing Bale for ridiculous fees.

Pedro for £20 odd million would be one of the bargains of the century.

We would still be at risk of trying to sign bale even after we sign Pedro IMO. We might be looking at Bale as the one in a free role behind Rooney and also as a striker when needed.

Very much looking forward to this. He will be a fantastic team player, rather than your average overpriced fantasy signing who flatters to deceive. He'll do well alongside Mata, Herrera, and the rest.

Seconded. Also very much looking forward of him signing with us.

Agreed with all of that. If it happens, I think he'll be a great signing that will go relatively under the radar within the media (as opposed to us signing Bale/Muller/Ronaldo etc etc) A very clever player that will improve the attack a lot.

Yep, and moreover I think he will add a touch of calmness and intelligence to our final 3rd buildups. The experience him and Schweinsteiger will bring will be immense imo.

Another spunkin of massive funds on the likes of Bale - when he's astronomically over-priced, is a complete sickner for me man (but deep-down - it's not my money, so i couldnt give a fiddlers f*ck) & as much as i would love him here - it wont happen any day soon. He's way too important to Real & their profile.

Pedro is gonna be hungry as f*ck if he comes to us & for those who dont rate him that highly - you're in for a reality-check pretty darn-God soon boyo's. He's an amazing all-round footballler.

Barca didnt win all that they did with just Messi - Pedro was instrumental in much of that, but no-one ever talked about wanting him, because he was a homebird & would never leave Barca.

The times, they are a changin..

We gotta get him signed up big time. He's perfect for United - made for us, even.

I'll stick my neck out here & say, that if we sign him - he could quite possibly be the best signing we've made this summer & maybe many seasons before too. I rate him so highly & he's dream-signing for what we are about - flowing attacking football & unselfishly classy in helping his team to win.

He ticks every box we thought Nani would & so much more.

Of course, if we somehow dont sign him :nervous: - automatically he'll be shite, imo on here & we dodged a bullet for an over-hyped glorious Barca player that was carried. But i would say that with crocodile tears though.

Football fans - bloody hell :D

Two Champions League and World Cup winning players in one window who are neither inconsistent youth or past-it veterans. Not bad. These two have been there and done that both playing in the greatest international and club sides of recent years and I'm really hoping that past their pitch presence they provide a lot within training and to the coaching staff of the set-ups they've been involved in.

Also particularly glad both players seem to be hungry despite already having it all and have come here for the challenge; both could have comfortably stayed at their old clubs and picked up odd appearances and trophies galore but instead chose to go and chase success elsewhere with (hopefully) more involvement.

Does anyone else think Pedro might have a Sanchez-like resurgence at United? Probably not the same level of ability.

Highly possible. He's definitely in that mould. Not as good on the ball as him but both are technical-engines and I'd say Pedro is more suited to possession based team (which is probably why he's still at Barcelona)

Yep, and imagine the experience Ramos would've brought in addition to the other two. I'm very happy with all our signings so far and don't think we'll miss a beat with ADM leaving, since he never really reached his potential last year, I don't think we will miss him. Pedro will likely surprise quite a few with his play.

I couldnt give a shite about us tryin to get Bale now, tbh Sam.

We've bought extremely well - common-sense / top-class signings so far & that's a far better attitude to have as a club, than signing a marquee player & hoping for the best; because the sum of all parts become marquee signings, if we do well.

*no need to elaborate on last summers marquee signings either*

Gettin Pedro & Stones, coupled with the fantastic others we've signed , would render this - the best transfer window in all my 36 years supporting United & that's not counting the near 4 years before; understanding i was born to be a Red Devil & to hurry the f*ck up & join the United family

I must admit I've hardly seen him play.

But what makes everyone think he would make us that much better?

Stats dint tell everything but his stats suggest he is a similar player to Mata. He scores and assists and keeps possession and passes well.

We need speed and dribbling and Pedro hardly beats players.

Pedro is quick and beats players. Very good at finishing and links up very well. He'll be the best wing option at the club IMO (better than Memphis even).
