If pedro means seeing guys like ashley young warm the bench, that would make me quiet happy.
If both pedro and depay are comfortable on the left, it is a little worrying. It would have been pretty exciting if our attack was pedro herrera depay and rooney, plenty of movement there which would be quicker than having mata there instead
Pedro is pretty flexible in that he can play both left and right from his time there. I assume he'll be on the right here due to Depay, which would shift Mata central. Unless Depay is in the middle like the friendlies, Mata on the right and Pedro on the left which is also possible.
Think this is almost done, we're probably waiting to finish the Di Maria deal so we can bring him in immediately. He's not exactly superstar quality but I have no qualms about him, he was good at Barca and I expect him to be better for us as he'll have a more important role.

Maybe playing Depay central has always been with one eye on bringing in Pedro?
I think Pedro plays on the right too though.
Pedro has been playing on the right most of the time I have seen him playing for Barca. Playing Depay in the middle seems to be done to Play Young on the left.
If we do get Pedro we could Play him right, Depay left and Mata on the 10 which would mean everybody playing on his best Position.
However, LvG is not a fan of fielding Players on their natural positions. Not philosophical enough.

He plays them to their strengths. We played mata wide left and had arguably our best run. Rooney played mid to accommodate falcao and rvp together with adm. Other than that most others were reasonable.
LVG will probably play him as wingback, we're probably going back to 3-5-2 with Rooney in midfield.
Given he's brought up on possession football he will fit in perfectly. He chips in with quite a few goals and assists too.

That's more like it. If we can persuade him into having one of his other names on his shirt he's perfect. Maybe one of the latter two as I'm not really confident pronouncing 'Eliezer'.

Sanchez and Fabregas. Two other Barca bench warmers who were amongst the best players in this league last season.
There's just something about this potential signing that feels right on so many levels. Not a massive name, but a player will add pace, intelligence on the ball and an eye for goal. Three attributes that the team sorely needs right now.
I know what you mean by that I really think he is a signing that suits us to a tee. Him and Darmian on the right would be a great partnership as well.

One aspect in which Pedro is superior to di Maria is his finishing in front of goal. Just recalling last season di Maria was so wasteful with his long shots and even in his time with Madrid he wasn't known for being prolific in front of goal. Pedro on the other hand is a very capable goal scorer especially in his early years so that's one good thing about the two transfers.
This is not me shitting on ADM since he's pussying out of Manchester. He's the superior player imo but Pedro's goal scoring ability is a nice little plus for him should the transfer go through.

It's a case of square pegs for square holes. LVG likes the 4-3-3 and Pedro is one of the most adept players for this system. It's refreshing that we are now making more sensible choices in the market rather than the marquee signing approach of the last 18 months i.e signing Mata when we were playing with two strikers and also had Kagawa, signing Falcao when we already had Rooney and RVP, signing Di Maria without a clear design on where to play him.
It also appears quite clear that this summer's purchases have been LVG signings whereas I had doubts over some of last year's. He will make some unpopular decisions along the way but he is building a team his way and nobody else's.
Which makes no sense. Di Maria is as good as gone, I reckon we are just trying to adjust the price for Pedro and thats what taking long.
Agreed. One is a better scorer the other is a better creator.
People will be spooked because of Thiago but I doubt it. I also can't see Pedro wanting to swap Barca's bench for Bayern's.

He's a very good player going for a good price, so this one should be straight forward. Player wage demands will be the only issue.
Can't see us bothering adjusting the price it's £22 million so we're hardly braking the bank for him. If we are trying to lower the price then it's pretty stupid on our part.

Or possibly its negotiating on how the fee is made up - instalments, add ons based on team performance, player appearances, etc.
