Would be devastated if we signed him. I'd almost rather Gaitan.

I cannot understand the lack of enthusiasm - he's a cracking player. We've spent the last few years watching Young and Valencia on the wings and you can't get excited about Pedro?

This!

Correct.

Like I said in another thread selling di Maria, replacing him with Pedro and using the leftover cash to purchase Ramos would be excellent business.

Astonishing to see how many people under-rate him here, let alone how average some people actually think he is.

Pedro would be a cracking signing.

Can't believe how poorly some people rate pedro, get this done, great signing.

He would improve our width greatly. Pedro is coming into his prime, has many caps for an excellent Spanish team. He's a livewire. People saying he did nothing for 4 years...get real. Barcelona would have got rid if they didn't think he was important. If they had their way, Pedro would be going no where. So If we sign him, we'll not only get another competent goalscorer but he's quick. Him and Depay could offer really good support to Rooney

I think a fair number of you haven't actually seen Pedro play, he is a superb player and would bring a lot of energy, skill and balance to our starting 11. I hope we get him.

22m-24m for Pedro is a steal if that fee is true. One of the best off the ball movers and finishers around. Technically gifted and absolutely suited to a possession side. Madness people don't want him.

Let's be honest Pedro is not the caliber of player we need to improve this squad.
He'll definitely improve our squad. If you meant first XI, you might have a point but people are quick to forget that Pedro is actually quality. He was a bona fide starter for one of the all conquering Barca sides as well.

He'd give us something we're missing in our squad - goal threat and pace out wide.

Something to that effect, said he was in jest but I dunno.

Im down about this, we really should be giving a player of this calibre another chance. This will be LVGs worse moment for me personally so far.

If adm doesn't want to play for MUFC, what is LVG supposed to do? threaten Him to stay and play for us or else?
LVG did nothing wrong IMO.

One sentence....

He was a first team player and a crucial forward in Barcelona's "Greatest Ever Team".

But, of course....... he wouldn't improve us.
And the fact that he isn't a regular starter now is down to shite like Suarez and Neymar taking his place, and all he can ever do is join the other terrible Barcelona rejects in the Premier League like Yaya Toure and Alexis Sanchez.....

Cant believe people are saying he isnt worth it. He would be a fantastic signing for around £20-22m. fecking Lallana cost Liverpool £26m. Pedro would cost less than him. He is only 27. He is strongly two footed, can play in either wing, he is quick and is a good replacement if we lose Di Maria. We would all like a Reus or a Bale to replace Di Maria but they are too costly and wont happen. Pedro is available and even if he doesnt start would provide good competition and great cover/depth for our squad if we have any injuries. Depay/Young and Pedro/Mata are very good options for wingers.

Well not really. He's seriously regressed since the 2010/11 season - during which he had a few months of patchy form even still.

2011/12 wasn't a great year for him (Villa and Alexis neither) and in 12/13 he wasn't much better...often dropped for Alexis with Iniesta playing from the left and Cesc from the middle.

He was a very good system player a few years ago. Now he's not really the same, and I'd say whether he'll adapt to a team other than Barcelona is hard to say. People do need to recognise that this isn't the same Pedro as the 2010 version, that's the clearest thing.

Has there ever been a signing in the last few years that was met with 100% delight? Even Bastian F'N Schweinsteiger had a load of people crying into their beer when they heard we signed him. I remember there was a split when we signed Van Persie of all people. I'm glad the internet wasnt around in 1992 when we signed Eric.

Do we know he wants to leave?

He hasn't come out directly and said that (but I doubt any player would do that) or handed in a transfer request but my impression of the situation and observing him is that he does not want to be here. I also believe psg was always his preferred destination.

The more I think of it, I'm not sure we'd be a good move for Pedros sake.

No guarantee he would be a starter here. I think it's clear Mata has a large role to play for us whenever you read interviews about him, it's clear Van Gaal really rates him.

If you took Mata out the team a front three of Memphis, Pedro & Rooney on paper sounds great, but again I'm not sure at how effective it'd be without someone more creative in the starting 11 somewhere.

I'm all for it btw. 22m or whatever the rumoured fee is is great, when you consider the prices some players go at nowadays.

Would be a super buy at a great price

A proven quality player, a winner, pace, skill, hardworking and a good scoring record

A 1 in 3 record.... Very productive
