It's worse when you add the context that the British press have been several hours behind European sources on every transfer we've made under LvG (including missing Schneiderlin entering Carrington, despite all having reporters stood outside waiting for Schweinsteiger to arrive!), seemingly made up transfer fees for Memphis, Shaw and Schweinsteiger and claimed we had deals done for both Gundogan and Benatia in the last 18 months.

I'm at a loss thinking what the British press have to do to stop people taking their claims as gospel at this point.

Pussy-footing around over a couple of million instead of just meeting the buy-out clause, which was clearly the only way he'd be signed. Chelsea decide to come in and meet it, so we've missed out. Club will say interest is 'ended', but you don't usually chase a player for weeks and end that chase at the expense of about £3million~.

Really bizzare way of doing things... We need a couple of signings, especially a proven goal-scorer or someone with pace as we're soley reliant on Memphis there.

van Gaal when Pedro was mentioned to him said it was a process, he didn't deny we were interested. Also Woodward was in Barcelona, ballbag saying terms already agreed and most Spanish media running with our interest. Think in this instance we have either A)pulled out due to price or B)he chose Chelsea last minute.
I doubt very much our interest had been fabricated.

Considering he can play either side I really thought it would be the end of slow as my dead grandmother Mata being our right sided player...guess not.
