The stupidity and gullibility in here is scary.

[...]

Nobody on here knows a thing about United's dealings so do yourself a favour and stop believing everything you read.
It's worse when you add the context that the British press have been several hours behind European sources on every transfer we've made under LvG (including missing Schneiderlin entering Carrington, despite all having reporters stood outside waiting for Schweinsteiger to arrive!), seemingly made up transfer fees for Memphis, Shaw and Schweinsteiger and claimed we had deals done for both Gundogan and Benatia in the last 18 months.

I'm at a loss thinking what the British press have to do to stop people taking their claims as gospel at this point.

Obviously, we don't know everything that's going on.. But it seems like we clearly wanted the player, but went back to the ways of the transfer window while Moyes was in charge and before. Pussy-footing around over a couple of million instead of just meeting the buy-out clause, which was clearly the only way he'd be signed. Chelsea decide to come in and meet it, so we've missed out. Club will say interest is 'ended', but you don't usually chase a player for weeks and end that chase at the expense of about £3million~.

Really bizzare way of doing things... We need a couple of signings, especially a proven goal-scorer or someone with pace as we're soley reliant on Memphis there.

The only reason he isn't coming to United is because we/Van Gaal doesn't want him, it's as simple as that. Money is not an issue for Woodward obviously. No one ever knows what's going on with our signings, and that's been proven with our signings so I don't know why we still bother with paying attention to the media :wenger:

Januzaj is not exactly a winger, that's the thing.
yeah but wherever he plays there's no denying that Adnan is the most likely player to be dropped for Pedro in starting XI had he joined. It gives him valuable minutes at the very least if we are not looking for some one else or we sign some one else who manager thinks is an improvement to squad.

Reports have consistently been about personal deals being agreed upon and the only matter left was deciding on the way the fees would be paid. Suddenly, every ton dick and Harry has reported that LVG doesn't want him anymore. They've been briefed by the club as I see it.

They repeated the exact same thing for about a month, this only happens when they know nothing.

Our idiots in charge laugh as Fellaini's release clause expires and grab a few million in change stuffed down the couch because we're just that f'n rich then haggle over a better player who is cheaper. It was probably Ashley Young we sent to negotiate.

Im supposed to be working but I'm too pissed off.

Jesus Christ everyone, put your toys away and calm the feck down. This is clearly not about the money; absolutely no way. It's disappointing if he wants to sign for Chelsea, but there's still time for Woody to suprise us with a BIG signing. Stop your knees from jerking and wait until the transfer deadline passes before you let the crazies loose.

So is anyone actually really bothered that we didn't get him? He's a good player, and he would fit into a position where we're a bit light, but I'm not actually that fussed.

I still think he's a very good player and he'll do well for Chelsea should he end up there.

If the manager has decided he's not needed, then so be it. The outcry from some fans is embarrassing.

The only people trying to play down what a feck up this is are the Mata fanboys because now he'll slowly play every week.

Or people who, you know, don't really think we need him, or don't think it's that massive to lose out on him? I'd have liked to see us sign him since he's a very good player, but it's not as if we've missed out on Ronaldo or something.

So most likely reasons:

LVG changed his mind within a week or less or
Woodward tried to save money on this, couldnt and thus will end up overpaying for somebody else.

lol.

Muller and De Bruyne

Wishful thinking is quite often stupid.

How is it wishful thinking?

Take Darmian for example. For weeks we were in for Clyne, had made enquiries, were readying a bid, nearly medical time.

Why? So that people would click the articles. It's all just one big game because United generate such interest.

Then out of nowhere we sign a defender most people never heard of that's twice the player Clyne is.

So yes, it's completely plausible that it's fabricated situational news for views.

To think otherwise is mental or not even entertain the possibility.

Wonder if Chelsea won against city, will they still get Pedro

If they're signing him, I expect they've probably been considering it for a while. Seems unlikely that it's just come out of the blue as a panic buy.

Pedro wants to leave Barca...
Media links us with Pedro....
For click bait media create articles which Caf members swallow....
Caf members take it as gospel he'll arrive....
Apparently he's going to Chelsea...
Sky Sports say we've ended interest in Pedro.....
That being the same interest they likely fabricated......

Nobody on here knows a thing about United's dealings so do yourself a favour and stop believing everything you read.

You forgot 3 things. LvG name dropping him, Woodward flying out to Barcelona 2 days ago, we apparently agreed terms (not just Sky).

What the hell happened here? This morning I read we'd agreed terms with Pedro and just sorting out the fee with Barca and now I read he is flying into London for a medical at Chelsea?!?!

Could Pedro and Otamendi bite us in the ass? Hope not...

It all seems to be just needless this.

We do seem to pick and choose our moments of when to massively overpay and when to miss out on players because we're haggling over 50p or something.

We're bipolar in the transfer market.

Except the manager said we wanted Pedro and were waiting for his decision......

BBC confirm it, he's moving to Chelsea.

:lol::lol::lol:

If I don't laugh I'll just start crying.

If they think that then they clearly aren't watching the shite that is our right side of attack, with no pace and no penetration, and no young players coming through in that position to make the excuse over.

Nah you are wrong. Im usually one to not take shit seriously but I have little doubt he was very close to signing and its gone tits up

According to the BBC it's LvG who decided he doesn't want him anymore, so can people stop moaning about the club and how we won't fork out cash or whatever? It's embarrassing.

I just don´t get it...
Why are we going nuts over this? If Woody and LVG had been sure he was it we would have signed him already..
Patience is a virtue and even if we don´t sign any new players we will be ok..

We're an absolute shambles of a club

It's not exactl hard to see why we're miles behind City/Chelsea/Arsenal. It's exactly where we deserve to be.

I think this is one of the most self-depreciating posts about United I've seen!

We didn't sign a player. So what? He's not the first and he won't be the last.

van Gaal when Pedro was mentioned to him said it was a process, he didn't deny we were interested. Also Woodward was in Barcelona, ballbag saying terms already agreed and most Spanish media running with our interest. Think in this instance we have either A)pulled out due to price or B)he chose Chelsea last minute.
I doubt very much our interest had been fabricated.

Considering he can play either side I really thought it would be the end of slow as my dead grandmother Mata being our right sided player...guess not.

Gutted to be fair.

IF we have lost out due to price, then a meltdown is deserved. Pathetic form the club.

IF we have lost out because LvG had second thoughts - i.e. trusting in a youngster, happy with the squad, then my reaction is mixed. We need more pace and I don't think LvG would be content with this.

IF we have something else lined up (I honestly think this is the actual reason), then lets all get excited.
