wouldn't be surprised if valdes has been on the phone. He's suspect like that.
What would your plan be? To take peanuts from Madrid?
P.s. what a silly article by Jasckon.
How did we run his contract down if he didnt want to sign a contract extension..?Aren't they offering £20 mill? Thats not completely unreasonable under the circumstances. I fully understand and accept De Gea's reasons for wanting to go. Plus I accept that we're fecked because we let his contract run down.
Sell him, replace him, move on and learn a lesson from it all.

If he had no intention or signing an extension 2 years ago then you would've sold him? Because without him last year then we wouldn't have gotten champions league.Did we only just realise this now? If somebody had asked him a year ago what his intentions were, or even offered him a deal then, maybe we would have had a bit more bargaining power with 2 years on his contract.
We may have got a suitable replacement in and still managed Champions league football. Anyway back to Pedro is this happening? Ive a feeling he will stay at Barcelona. If he had no intention or signing an extension 2 years ago then you would've sold him? We still can, no replacement will be as good as him though, I think we've played the situation well. I'm still confident this is happening, when LVG was asked about it there was an air of inevitability in what he said.We may have got a suitable replacement in and still managed Champions league football. Various media outlets are saying the fee is the issue. I know we've spent a lot of cash already but I don't think £30m more will break the bank. Which suggests to me we're looking at another signing as well, probably a CB or ST. Two more signings at around £60m to £70m for the pair.
There is no way we'd be haggling over £3m if that wasn't the case in my opinion.
I think LVG wants Muller with Pedro being plan B and we won't finalize anything with Pedro until the club is satisfied that there's absolutely zero chance of getting Muller
It makes me think last summer may have been an exception rather than the rule where it comes to our approach in the transfer market. In absolute terms we've spent very little this summer. The way we have cleared the wage bill and not spent a huge amount like last summer when you consider fees received this summer makes me think we may be trying to pull off another galatico before settling on Pedro.
Not going to happen IMO and if it does happen will be disappointing.
Very mediocre? Really?I agree. It's looking like turn from what was a brilliant start to the transfer window to ultimately a very mediocre one.
Mediocre? Signing Memphis, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Darmian, Romero and Pedro, and you're calling it a very mediocre window?I agree. It's looking like turn from what was a brilliant start to the transfer window to ultimately a very mediocre one.

feck me, this place is full of miserable bastards

The state of some people on here, fecking hell. 5 players who would walk into the majority of teams in the league, and then Argentina's starting goalkeeper. All for reasonable fees.
How the feck can signing 4 good players be brilliant start but now its mediocre?
What in your mind happened to make it all of a sudden mediocre.

Yes. Fix the midfield, great start. Then sell our best striker, our biggest ever signing and not replace either, plus probably selling one of the top three goalkeepers in the world.
RVP was done, Moyes' season and last season he was a shadow of himself. Keeping hold of him that he might find his old form again would have been pointless.Selling RVP & Di Maria, and probably DDG. That made it mediocre from brilliant.
Van Persie was shite last season, worse then rooney, so selling him isn't a problem at all. And yeah, sell our biggest ever signing because he didn't want to be here and failed perform apart from 1 month at the start, so much so that Ashley Young was deservedly keeping him out of the side. Selling de gea would be shite, but the other two don't make us any worse performance wise.Yes. Fix the midfield, great start. Best striker was done, ADM didnt want to be here. Whats the manager supposed to do? Its also not September 1st yet.

The RVP and Di Maria that played for most of last season are really no great loss.
Van Persie was a shadow of his former self and has been replaced with Hernandez and ADM couldn't be arsed the majority of the time and has been replaced with Depay.
De Gea hasn't left yet and likely won't, this time last year we had only signed 2 players so i expect us to sign more before 1st Sep.
But that doesn't negate the fact it's been a very good window so far.

I'd say we're probably better off with Chicha as our #2 with his pace in behind, but who knows. Hernandez and Wilson are effectively taking the spots RvP and Falcao had last season, as well as Januzaj in there. Basically none of them have been any good over the last 2 years so it doesn't change much I thinkRVP worse than Rooney? Not so sure, close one. Selling players in positions that we are pretty weak isn't fixed by not actually replacing them.

If we sign a couple of players it makes it a very good window.
