Lots of shouts in there that Pedro isn't very creative...

I felt it was 50:50 or maybe 60:40 in favour Sanchez. I felt that the Chilean was considered the fastest and the more unpredictable out of the duo while Pedro was more industrious and a better finisher.

So it's all gone a bit quiet on the Pedro front? What's the latest does anybody know?

Because he's not. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. But with Schweinsteiger/Mata/Herrera, we do have players who could thread passes between the lines to him if he makes those runs he's great at.

I would disagree with the notion that he's not very creative? He's created more goals for Messi than anybody else in the last 5 years! I'd say that's pretty creative. He's also very good at creating space for people so the likes of Mata and Memphis would benefit from having him in the team.

The bit in bold doesn't make him creative.

He's not the most creative player really, he's more of a team player and a goalscorer. He makes great runs in behind, and his off the ball movement and link up play and finishing are his best assets. He's not going to be the one playing the splitting through passes or anything like that though, or dribbling past player after player like Sanchez or Hazard. A lot more just passing it around players is what he does.

Pedro is a finisher/player to play the final ball, not a creator.

But that's exactly what we need. He'd complement Herrera and/or Mata brilliantly.

Sanchez is not much of a creator either. He's someone who finishes moves, he doesn't start them.

What you've just described makes him creative though. He's always in a position the recieve the ball and his first
touch is better than almost anyone in our team. He makes it easy for the 'creative' players.

He's creative in terms of his off the ball movement I guess, but when people think creativity, they usually think of players playing the splitting through passes or picking out the mans making the runs, not the actual players who make the runs.

There's a big difference between Pedro playing a simple short pass to Messi and now to Rooney, Messi will do something and get Pedro an assist, Rooney will receive the ball and then run about 10 yards trying to get it under control by which point the attack is dead.

Sure about that? Yes he can finish off moves but I also feel he can create plenty of chances.

I agree and he is a better acquisition than De Bryune for £50m since, City already has Silva who is very similar to Bryune. I hope he comes to United and if he does, that will be a great addition to our team.

Not really.. De Bruyne is a lot more direct.

 This Made me laugh, and then cry.

I think you're right. His dribbling, pressing and energy starts counters, even if he's not a typical playmaker. Like Neymar, he played higher up on the left since Messi drops deep (whether as a 9 or an RW), so people have gotten used to him being less creative and starting less moves, but it's all relative, and he is plenty good at it, at least on the counter.

Alexis is more creative but when your team only gets 2/3 chances I'd fancy Pedro to be the triggerman.

We need to create chances and lack penetration, though, and Alexis' pace and aggression get him into the box more often than Pedro, but yeah, Pedro is a better finisher.

Alexis is irrelevant, really. Is there a better option than Pedro out there? If not, let's get him, we'll have him for his age 28 and 29 seasons as a starter and then even if he slows down too much to be effective enough, hopefully Januzaj will be ready to beat him out as our RW, opposite Memphis.

I don't think there's a ton of value here, but he'd walk into our team right now, as a 9, RW or even 10 depending on where Mata is playing. It's not like Rooney looks a mobile enough target to get in behind at the moment.

United seem to be the only team in for him. As usual, it appears Balague was talking nonsense with the City stuff. Not sure why Pedro is taking so long to make his decision, although The Guardian (the only reliable football related media IMO) have reported he's second guessing the move after seeing how LVG treats some of his players. Guardian also have no mention of the so-called City bid, as don't BBC.

Pedro will play his last game tonight and then will fly to Manchester tomorrow and will be in the stands for the United game tomorrow night. His agent contacted me directly to get him some tickets for the match for himself and Pedro.

His buy out clause is not a hard written clause it's more of an agreement between Barca and Pedro. Think the most reported reasons it's not done is that we've been haggling how to make up the 30 million euros, with bonus and clauses etc and also that Barca have wanted to keep him un till they have finished with their Super Cup games in Europe and in Spain.

I don't think anyone really knows whats happening here. I doubt very much it's the buy out clause. Facts are Pedro isn't guaranteed a starting place and Barcelona don't want him to go. I mean why would they? They have the 3 best strikers in the world and Pedro as a great back up. I think the hold up is with Pedro making a life changing decision.

Utter gash from the Guardian.

Oh nice one -you know full well there's life long local supporters like me on here who can't get tickets, and you go and sort out some JCL OOTs wth a pair. Prick.

Sorry, had to be done for the good of the club. So think of it this way, your sacrifice is instrumental in Pedro arriving.

Jamie Jackson who wrote that is not reliable.

Another day another day of hope? Or actual movement on this now? All has gone a little bit quiet but at least for now that means he's not a City player.

Getting deja vu here. Haven't the last 3 games supposedly been his "last game in a Barca shirt"???

No one here takes Jamie Jackson seriously..he was the one that said the ADM wasnt happening or something, and then it was announced the next day..and he called our manager a bellend too

I hope he's not the only deal we're working on as I'm still in the camp that he's using us for recognition. He'll come out saying he's been reassured of his playing time and now wants to finish his career there.

He can never be assured of playing time there as long as the trio are fit. Enrique himself said if one of them is injured, he is the next option which means he isn't going to start most games.

Is this deal ever actually going to happen?
