“So write it.”

I think it would most likely be:

------------Rooney------------
Pedro-----Memphis------Mata

Pedro as a pacey and hard working inverted winger.
Rooney and Memphis both effectively playing as strikers.
Mata cutting in and almost playing like a 10 or whatever behind those three.

LVG can't work with exceptional flair players. He needs consistency and to some degree predictability. That's why he's fallen out with do many big names over the years.

Well thats a lie. For all the problems he had with Rivaldo, Rivaldo was voted the best player in the world when managed by LVG. He has also never had any issues with Arjen Robben in the 2 seperate times he has worked with him. Are they not flair players?

....and if they play in the right positions :) let's face it, it's not going to be:

------------Rooney------------
Memphis----Mata-----Pedro

It'll most likely be:

------------Rooney-----------
Young---Memphis---Pedro

.......which looks much less threatening.
If would be very unfair for Young to be dropped based on current form. It also sends a message to other players that it doesn't matter whether you're in form or not; you will still get dropped. Players need to have some inspiration to play well. Staying in the team is one of these.

This is why i think its bizarre that Herrera's seemingly out of favour when he has been exceptional.

Yes, we need Pedro. Pedro would thrive a and get enough games at United. It will be done.

Young was pretty shit vs Spurs, Walker pretty much had him in his pocket and got the better of him every time. Last season is different to this season, clean slate and all.

Was that before or after he put in the perfect cross for what ended up as the only goal of the match.

Will Rooney get benched when he has a bad game/ long run of games then this season?
Well Rooney is the captain, tends to be a reliable goalscorer, is basically our only striker, and can be world class on his day. Big difference to young being a solid player with a very poor end product who will have plenty of competition.

Was a pretty simple pass in truth, and that was when Bentaleb handed the ball to us for a quick transition and Young on the other side, not on the left. I have nothing against Young at all, I have no problem with him starting, but saying it's harsh for him to be dropped for Pedro isn't really accurate as it's the start of a new season and he's never been productive. He hasn't been world class or undroppable, he has simply been solid without scoring/assisting. So of course, a team like United would want an upgrade.

fair he was on the right but it wasnt a simple pass. was under alot of pressure from the unrushing CB. He also put in a few balls into the box and i think he had the only shot on target entire match. Walker was good but was alot of rough housing on young and i thought the ref allowed Walker to basically shove him off the ball or hold him back when young was about to pass walker. most notably when he got nutmeged.

but yes need an upgrade

"It is a process. I want a player who is creative and fast, Pedro is this."

This worries me.

After he dropped such a bollock with Di Maria, and the kind of player he was. I really hope he knows exactly what he's getting with Pedro, and isn't expecting Di Maria like creativity, but with added work rate and discipline.

Because from everything I've seen/heard/read, Pedro is not a particularly creative player, certainly not on the level of Di Maria/Ozil/Fabregas et el, and if he expects him to solve our creativity issues single-handedly, we're going to be in trouble.

--- Bastian - Morgan ---
--------- Ander ---------
Pedro ------------ Memphis
--------- Wayne --------

This lineup would be perfect, and absolute world class. It has flair, speed, power and routine.

To bad we'll never see it, as Memphis will be playing the 10, and Ander will be playing "go fish" with Dave and Juan on the bench :(

Great message to send out that is we are one game into a season we tell our winger who has just signed a new deal sorry Ashley thanks for being there when we needed to and helping us secure 4th but a newer better model has come along so we're dropping you. Oh by the way keep yourself fit and ready to go just on the off chance somebody gets injured. Luckily our club isn't managed by amateurs and this won't happen.

I think we will be fine with Pedro. We are crying out for somebody who can add pace to the right hand side, any type of winger who has the pace to beat a man or skill can be creative and Pedro has plenty of assists so I wouldn't worry here. If anything I wouldn't put Di Maria in the same bracket as Ozil/Fabregas for me Di Maria is a lot closer to Pedro, Di Maria is slightly better for skill and for outright talent but i'd say Pedro is a lot more consistent and likely to add to the over all team play rather than Di Maria who just wasted it.

For me the interesting thing with Pedro is going to be seeing whether he plays instead of Young or Mata. If it's Mata it tells us LVG wants pace on both sides and creativity from both sides which I hope is the case. If it's Young I think it shows we are using the left as our attacking outlet is our ploy which for me is a little predictable so leads me to believe it will be for Mata.

'TORRES TIPS £22M PEDRO TO BE PREM STAR FOR UNITED'

Number of times Torres mentions United = 0

LVG answer 'Write it' to Pedro question?

So Barcelona apparently wants to keep him for Spanish Supercup too. Soon we'll learn they want to keep him for the start of the season too.

Yeah, for once I agree with you. I think/hope he's worded it poorly because if we are looking at Pedro to bring creativity to the team, we're fecked. It would bring a big ? on our scouting team btw who identified pedro as someone to bring creativity to the team.

I'm starting to wonder if people are becoming more and more dim on here!

Do people really think LVG and the entire scouting team don't know kind of player Pedro is? Rather than just poor English!

Thankfully, you are smart enough to read a post properly before replying.

If they hang onto him for the Super cup as well then it gives us time to assess other options, such as Muller. Not saying we will get him but no harm in trying while the Pedro saga remains unsolved. It seems Barcelona are stalling on letting Pedro go and Pedro doesn't want to force the matter but if we have offered the £22m and Pedro is thinking it over then he needs a deadline set. I don't fancy waiting until September for a new player to come in and try and integrate into the team and potentially upset the rhythm. The Super cup finished on Monday night so personally would want the transfer completed by next Friday at the latest, if all is to be believed that personal terms have been agreed and we have made the right offer then it should happen fairly quickly and he will be at Old Trafford on Tuesday night for the Champions League home game.

Better to get this deal done than to dream about Muller or Bale which wont happen, no chance imo.
