What did he say? dont have sound at work.
If I remember he said something along the lines of 'I don't say anything yet, nothing until he's signed, once he's signed then we can talk.'

journo: How optimistic are you that Pedro might happen?
VG: You have to ask Pedro that, not me. My answer is that it's a process - it's a club, it's a player and we're also there. And I don't mention anything before he has signed. When he's signed I come to you and say - hey, Pedro is here, but it's still not the case so we shall wait and see.
journo: You talked about wanting fast and creative players
VG: Yes, and Pedro is a player like that....so, write it.

This one is in the bag IMO.

I am not sure, what to expect from him. We fecked up on Di Maria case, and he is not at the level of Di Maria when it comes to creativity. Plus he goes down like child who trying to learn to walk, when he is touched -- which is OK if you are playing in La Liga but with English league, he has got to toughen up.
I think he surely would be an upgrade on young but nothing more than that. I would love to be proven wrong but he is not the kind of player who would be our "marquee signing"

I fecking love LVG!

This worries me.

After he dropped such a bollock with Di Maria, and the kind of player he was. I really hope he knows exactly what he's getting with Pedro, and isn't expecting Di Maria like creativity, but with added work rate and discipline.

Because from everything I've seen/heard/read, Pedro is not a particularly creative player, certainly not on the level of Di Maria/Ozil/Fabregas et el, and if he expects him to solve our creativity issues single-handedly, we're going to be in trouble.
Di Maria and Ozil's "level" isn't that high based on last season. A much better example would be David Silva and Alexis Sanchez who were both excellent last term.

Ballbag on Twitter saying he will start the Super Cup game.

The longer this goes on, the more opportunities Barca will have to make him feel valued and give him assurances about game time.

Getting a bit twitchy. We need Pedro quite badly looking at the state of our attack.

Ballbag seems to think that we are front runners but haven't offered the release clause. But it seems that City have offered 32m Euros, I hope we don't lose this transfer to City over a couple of m£

Seems strange this, everyone knows the release clause they have mentioned it in every article for about a month yet we still wont match it even though its a fairly low price. We either aren't 100% sure on him or we have somebody else in mind, if he ends up at City i'll be pissed off.

Just pay the clause and get it done ffs.

LvG is probably still trying to somehow get Müller, which is a lost case and a bit stupid. Would be incredibly frustrating if that was the reason why we still haven't managed to wrap Pedro's deal up and let City get close to him.

City have offered the clause and then some but have still not 'got it done'. Barcelona for whatever reason are holding this up...

If these quotes are real, I'm not sure how anyone is still worried it won't happen.

Well it seems like Pedro has given his word to choose us. And the reason for Barcelona to hang on to him is that Neymar is injured and he is better than the rest they have.

Or maybe we are waiting for the nod off Pedro. LvG's comments point towards this deal being done when Pedro has made his mind up.

I think Pedro already has. Barcelona want to drag this one out as long as possible imo.

I hope if pedro comes he gives 100% and doesn't spit the dummy out like di Maria . He will be dropping a level down from players of the ilk of Neymar , messi , Suarez and the likes of iniesta and I hope he won't chuck the towel in like adm.

I don't think that's actually true, is it? I'm sure you will find a few examples of him going down easy or playacting after contact, but I can't say I've ever noticed him doing it on a consistent basis. He's no Busquets or Suarez.

The bloke on sky sports news just showed the LVG clip and then said city have offered more then the release clause.

If there is a release clause what is the point in going over it? Is it just to outbid us? Hilarious little club.

Technically, it's not a written clause from what we know. The 30m is more like a verbel agreement with Pedro and board (everyone knows no club wil pay 150m for Pedro). So City can obviously pay more than the 30m if they want ot hijack the deal. No point for Barca to reject the offer, if there's one.

Bayern did the same with Thiago's clause didn't they? It was also a similar reduced clause based on playing time, which was probably more of an agreement than a contractual obligation.

Ahhh I see, cheers for clearing that up, I was wondering how they could be so thick!

The reports a couple of weeks ago was that he would join after the 2 super cups and I'm starting to think this might be right, announcement early next week maybe?

City have not made a bid. When talks drag on, they create drama and it gives them something to talk about. City would be in no hurry to deny anything, so let's put it to bed. City have not offered more money because it's more then the agreement and Barcelona have accepted no bid.

The Price of the release clause is just the floor. Of course there is always the possibility to pay more than that which might be the case when more than one Team is interested.

I hope this will completed soon. Somehow I am pretty sure it will be Pedro or no one else in this window.
