Questions: Does anyone actually think that Fergie would've let the club resort to this pre-Glazer? Does anyone think he'd accept having that few options in the middle of the pitch?

Didnt Scholes wear 22 when he 1st got into the squad in 94?

Yes I think he did -

I don't think he would, no

Ironic that little City would be bought out and bankrolled with so much money and we get the Glazers and £750m debt

Well, yeah. In that case I guess you can say it's better than nothing. But then I think you're missing why people are complaining: It's not just because we're bringing Scholes out of retirement. It's because the club is pretty much forced to do something, because we haven't bought a central midfielder since 2007 while it's been clear to 98% of the the world's population that we needed at least one new player there.

I'd have thought that anyone who had complained already, would be placated somewhat by something being done, as opposed to nothing.

Getting a central midfielder for the future is a separate issue.

I loathe the Glazers with a passion.

More than I loathe City and Liverpool.

If the price of losing them was to give either of those a PL title, I'd pay it.

Scholes is never a 'resort' and frankly I like where United are - sticking to our guns with youth, not spending excessively, and letting Ferguson get on with his job.

I'd hate us to have City's owners.

Ideal game with a man off for Scholes to have some minutes.

why? they seem not to interfere with the footballing matters (unlike Abramovich) they just provide money and a business plan. As strange as it may sound i would love to have owners like them. United are making enough money to be competitive even with the Glazer's debt (I bet GHQC will soon claim there is no debt at all) so without this burden we would be self-sufficient with a lot to spare. If the owners got their share of money (dividend) and feck off for the rest of the season I would be more than happy.

3-0 up with a man advantage. If there was ever a time to reintroduce him, it might be now... Think he'll make an appearance today?

If it was purely the Glazers withholding money, why did we spend around £50 million in the summer on a goalkeeper, a centre half and another winger and not address the centre of midfield? Surely if Fergie only had £50 million to spend, and thought we had a midfield problem, he'd have used some of that money to address that issue?

That makes way too much sense Nev. cut it out will ya? We don't like that type of logic round these parts! ;)

Not missed a pass yet, you never lose it. BOOM BABY!

I love Scholes and he was one of the best midfielders the world has ever seen but ....what a farce. Clubs like United shouldn't be bringing legends out of retirement. He's 37 ffs

37 passes , 36 successful, 1 assist. Not bad

Had to think for a sec what assist you were referring to

He started looking more and more like his old self... I'm gladly having him back :)

Used his experience, kept it simple and helped us keep possession.
