I don't think he ever got back fit on the other side of new years last season. If he can get back so his late 2010 form, he'll be starting soon.

Well yes that I could agree with. If it's been on the cards for weeks now and he's been training, he should and could have been involved against Blackburn.

Registration issues with league games perhaps?

Cant make my mind up about it. I am happy just because it is Paul Scholes.

I felt he could have stayed on another year (like VDS) but he didnt obviously. So you move on or try to move on at least.

I think at times he was outstanding last season. So even if he gives us 2 or 3 more great games I guess it will be worth it.....I think...maybe

It's ingenious, we've replaced Paul Scholes with....Paul Scholes.

Well really we replaced Paul Scholes with Tom Cleverley but he got injured after 5 games and we ended up playing defenders in midfield so we've gone back to Scholes. Makes sense really.

Until we start getting players back from injury and back on form, this is a sticky plaster, but thats what we need.

Lets be honest, if this was Liverpool, or any other club in the top half we'd be breaking our shit laughing at them wouldn't we?

strange to see he has been brought back. Obviously I hope he does well but its only papering the cracks. It's 20 odd games so Im wondering will he play in most of them?
Hopefully we don't have some assholes calling him shite if he doesnt do so well.
And this also says to me that Fergie has admitted to himself that he needs to sign new blood in the summer.

Is he back just for this game or longer, do we know how long he's back for?

This is like some crazy beautiful dream.

Forget the rest of the month and concentrate on today. That's what Fergie's doing.

We are not a mediocre mid table club who lack founds to invest, as far as I know we are one of the biggest clubs in the world. Every move we do will be analyzed and if we signal weakness it will cost us on every level.

To be honest I don't understand what Sir Alex is thinking. If Scholes succeed it will show everybody that we lack proper midfielder, and the question will be why don't we fix it? If he fails this move will look desperate and weird.

It's a lose and lose situation and not worthy a club of our size.

I love Scholesy, but that just smacks of desperation and probably of the fact that we're skint. Still the excitement of the game has risen considerably.

People are probably complaining because a club of United's size and stature shouldn't be in a situation like this in the first place. Not really that hard to figure out.

Im not disputing that - in fact, I've been saying it x amount of times.

But we are. And this at least shows that the manager is at least doing something. Maybe not enough - but maybe a start.

I love Scholes and he may still be able to provide that magic to our midfield but we should not be relying on him to bail us out of our midfield problems.

Do you not think it could simply be that we have a lot of injuries at the moment and could use an extra midfielder to cover us and being able to bring in an experienced player who is a fan favourite and won't really complain if he's not playing much could be an ideal situation. Ideally we don't have to rely on him but having him about as an extra option even as a sub could give us an extra option.

I can't see us signing Lampard... Well, I'd like to think so. That said, with Scholes coming back and us singing Owen a few seasons ago, I suppose anything's possible.

It'll feel a bit wrong to see Scholes wearing 22.

This is also how I see it.

Well, yeah. In that case I guess you can say it's better than nothing. But then I think you're missing why people are complaining: It's not just because we're bringing Scholes out of retirement. It's because the club is pretty much forced to do something, because we haven't bought a central midfielder since 2007 while it's been clear to 98% of the the world's population that we needed at least one new player there.
