Sheringham has backed him to return for England in the Euro's. My gut feeling is this will actually happen, especially if he plays well until the end of the season. He expressed his regret at turning down the chance to play at the last World Cup, so I think if he gets offered the chance he'll say 'why the hell not?'

I thought he did well when he came on at Arsenal. He's a terrific player to have on the bench. Can easily do a job for England as well since, usually, international games are played at a much slower tempo and he'll have more time on the ball.

I agree, he done well yesterday and in general has done well since his comeback. I'd much rather have him in there over Rafael, Park, Gibson (Obviously he's left now) and just because of the class that he brings. Still the best passer at the club.

Found this on tumblr.

Loving this encore........ sooooo much <3

Brilliant player to have back and retain ball in high pressure situations. Still waiting for him to do those orgasmic 10324834834 meter diagonal balls!

His pass for Welbeck on his way to the right wing reminded me of that... They're coming, I'm sure ;)

Top class. If I was Kenny I'd tell Liverpool to close him the feck down. Too easy for Scholesy when teams sit back. Hope its more of the same second half.

Couldn't keep the ball when he went off.

Taking him off arguably cost us the game, if anyone had any doubts about bringing back they shouldn't anymore.

Put in a top shift today. Now all we need is someone energetic next to him instead of a Carrick who's gone back into his shell and Giggs whose body appears to be moving in slow-mo.

I fecking love this guy, what a footballer, and he gets everyone else around him playing too cos as soon as he went off we started playing like Liverpool.

He's been fantastic, but i have mixed feelings about him starting games. Because he can't play well for more 50-60 minutes, it effectively means we waste one substitution, and secondly, we have to play five men midfields to accomodate him, and then, when he goes off, we always have to change shape or formation.

I love him but i don't think he should be starting any more, not against any team in the top half of the league.

Giggs was the obvious substitution to make, he looked more tired than Scholes did at that point.

The way Kelley got around Giggs so easily was embarrassing enough the first time. Then the times after that... :wenger:

It was either persist with Scholes even though he's knackered, or keep Giggsy on since Scholes is the more crucial player for the short- mid-term. Taking them both off might have been risky as it would stop our flow in midfield (even though that's what happened anyway...)

He puts everyone of our other CM's to shame.

You don't replace a player like Scholes without spending a lot of money.

Hopefully we'll sign a quality Midfielder or two in the summer and also get the ginger prince to sign on for at least another season.

At the moment we have no other choice but to play him from the start.

With Anderson and Cleverley seemingly always injured, i don't see what other option we have at present.

He should be given the occasional start, but I do think we have to be careful as to what games we play him in. Really, he shouldn't be starting too many of the bigger games. The reason for that is because when he starts to tire and has to come off, the game is often still tight, and changing our strategy isn't always the most advisable choice at that stage of the game.

I think he's a good player to start against some of the smaller sides though, and his ability to retain the ball and pick out the pass calmy makes him the perfect player to put on for when we're trying to see out the game.

So we're going to risk Pogba losing further confidence by chucking him in against the bindippers kelvin? That would only happen if we were having a field day but that rarely happens at Anfield. I dont see us putting in the youngsters like that until we actually get a settled squad. No telling when that will be.

we didn't worry about DDG losing further confidence. Or at least Fergie didn't.

If he can't get a game now, he won't with a settled squad, by which, I presume you mean players back from injury.

Thought he was absolutely brilliant today. Without him we would have been a lot more attacking playing into the scousers hands. They would have countered a lot more than they wanted.

fergie made a tactical mistake by taking him off and bringing on Hernandez, he said he was trying to go for the win but it backfired. :(

Well with the keepers, that's a rotation issue.

I dont think Fergie is going to put the young ones into the firing line when the squad is in the state it is now. It seems he likes to give them a platform that they can usually perform well in. That wasn't the case today and I'm not sure when that will be but I hope it's somewhat soon.

Only two likely scenarios I see Pogba getting game time is when we've built up a solid lead or when the squad is more settled and we can rotate accordingly.

Been brilliant this half. Silly tackle near the end of it though, one thing will never change :D
