Paul Pogba

I think City are going to go all out and get him. I think they will give him mega wages to close the deal.

The annoying thing about that Pogba situation is how immediately made an impact in Italy. 37 appearances in his first season and 51 in his second according to wiki. This isn't getting unlucky with some unknown youth player who slowly develops into a world beater. He was clearly capable of playing at this level, and fair play to him for having the self belief to make the move and prove that he was good enough. People can spew the 'young player must wait for his chance' rhetoric, but the fact is that a career in football is short, and if you don't have the backing from the senior staff, then you're likely to look elsewhere. If he wasn't going to get a chance in that midfield, I'm not at all surprised that he fecked off to Italy. Blah, so frustrating!

We said the same every time we saw him play. He looked class for United in the limited minutes he got - and was absolutely electric for the reserves. I've never seen such talent first hand in a young kid. People writing him off is ridiculous. We'll regret this for a long time.

Real Madrid interested apparently. City may as well take a step back if true.

I don't want him for 80M. Way too much. Verratti would be a much better alternative and at a cheaper price.

Hopefully Laporta will win and we can course correct from this galactico approach of late. Pogba would be an indulgent transfer when any number of midfielders on the market could provide what would be needed at a fraction of the fee & wages

Nooo, we can affort this. I'm certain he'd make a huge and instant impact. He is going to be a serious Balon D'or contender very very soon, and we need a god damn star player if we're going to compete with the best teams in Europe.

I don't think City stand a chance personally. I can't see how a young player on the verge of greatness, who could have his pick of any elite club would choose to spend the best years of his career at Manchester City.

He is Barca's transfer to lose at this point IMO.

He's not that good, and nowhere near 80m.

Why on earth will PSG ever sell Verratti? Unless, he forces his way out; in which case, he'd be going for a similar amount.

Pogba could be easily (easier than Verratti) prised away from Juventus with a bid between £60-80m.

Could not keep a straight face.

I could see City bidding more than any other...theyre pretty desperate to get big name replacements. However if Barca stay on it, negotiations between player/club is definitely in their favour.

As for us, only if barca lose interest and agent memphis stays on the case.

He was ponderous and slow of thought in his cameos. His situation was no different from Beckham's - Beckham clearly wasn't ready in 94-95 but came into bloom in 95-96. If Pogba had signed a contract I've no doubt that he'd have got a couple of starts at the end of that season and would have been integrated into the team the next.

Revisionist nonsense, he wasn't even the best player for the reserves

Aye, he looked almost as good as Gibson did.

Pogba never looked class when he had his sub appearances for us. And he was average in the 2011-12 season for the reserves.

We obviously did the right thing in letting him go then
we didn't let anyone go, have you never heard of the bosman ruling? He said he wasn't going to sign a new contract, you don't have a moment where you make a decision and let a player go

He wanted to play in the first team and get a big contract despite not playing well in his first team appearance, I think people are reading too much tabloid nonsense if they actually think fergie made a mistake based on the information to hand

He's probably going to be flogged about 'Ibra-style' anyway. I'll be shocked if he stays for a full contract in this country, should he move here this summer.
