I'm not sure what to make of this "paperwork and signing take time" argument.

I think there is nothing agreed and that negotiations are still ongoing and this paperwork argument is used by DiMarzio etc. to buy some time. So that they could position themselves as "we said it was only paperwork left so we were first to announce it as done".
I'm thinking its more on the lines of the Mkhitaryan deal. Though a deal in general has been agreed by all parties, it hasn't been officially signed yet. Dortmund announced it early but Juventus might not be in such a hurry. It's upto us to get the medical done and finally announce it.

It's funny how people live by this day to day going mad when there's no update. In all probability they probably had a phone conversation a week ago and Pogba said 'yeah sure Jose, I'll come down to Carrington when I'm back on the 6th' and United were like 'okay cool, see you in a week'.

The notion that every day something needs to happen, that every day of his holiday United are speaking to him saying 'why haven't you signed yet' or that we're cancelling his holiday and arranging medicals in other countries is just absurd. Chill out, he's on fecking holiday. When he comes back it will be down to business whether he goes to us or Madrid.

All this 'no update yet, I've got a bad feeling about this' what the feck do you expect to have happened?
Agree with the rest of your post. But I think everything else has been decided and he IS coming to United. Let's leave Madrid out of this.

Bloody hell, I'm sure Ian Holloway just said 'Sir Alex Ferguson said Pogba walked around like he owned the place' and that 'Man Utd didn't pay that for Keane', despite him being the British transfer record at the time...? Sky Sports really is shite right now. They're comparing Lacazette's stats to Theo Walcott at the minute.

Skysports also said we hadn't agreed anything so clearly they're talking shite.

Presumably they can't afford to go out on a limb quite like individual journo's such as Di Marzio can.

Andy Burton is pictured with Pogba in Vegas however, so likely he got decent info behind the flight schedule during his chat.

I think if his holiday is till 6th August, I don't see anything concrete happening this week.

He will turn up in Europe next Monday (8th August).

I thought this but Skysports said he's preparing to fly to England?
In media parlance, "preparing to do <insert muppety thing here>" means that they don't really know what's going on but it's the most likely next development, and as they don't need any proof of said preparation they can print it with impunity.

I'm with you on this. The only thing holding this deal up is the fact he's on holiday. Plus, there's going to be a huge promotional assault from the likes of Adidas and this is giving them time to put something together.

Very concrete. Sounds pretty much done.

Exactly, no point obsessing over Pogba this week. If its meant to happen it will happen sometime next week. At this point he, his agent & Adidas are just milking the attention on social media.

Is it just me or is Pogba on the longest footballer holiday I've ever seen?

Does anyone know of anyone else who played the Euros that is still not back in training?

Prominent French and Portugese players are still on holiday since they went all the way to the final.

Evra was also with Pogba in Vegas. Schneiderlin is back with us, probably because he didn't kick a ball at the Euro.

Not on mine (mobile).

Looks like the one on the right for me. Left is the old one.

I know!

I mean, if I was about to be given a massive contract by a new employer I'd be quite happy to cut my holiday short!

i very much doubt anything will happen until he returns from his holiday and if juve dont do transfers at the weekend then we will be looking at next Monday at the earliest

I bet Juventus have never had so many clicks on their store web site.

I don't think August 6 was the day he returns, I think that was supposed to be the day he was due back for training

Then again, nobody seems to know when his holiday ends. The Skysports article starts with "Pogba spent his last days on holiday in Las Vegas.." Then ends with "He is expected to fly to Miami"

Here is an excerpt of an article that will appear in a local newspaper on Wednesday. Ignore the content, but take note of the first letter of each sentence.

I will accept my Newbie-Muppet Award when Pogba signs.

Pokémon Go, the mobile game that is taking the world by storm, will be officially unveiled in South Africa in September this year.
Obsessive gamers clearly don't bother themselves with the word “officially”, since hundreds of thousands have already downloaded it via unofficial channels.
Governing bodies have braced themselves for the impact, which has already been felt across the world.
Besides the expected battery drain, gamers will also have to be mindful of malware and crime.
After last week’s article entitled “Tsunami to hit town”, several authorities have released warnings for gamers to consider.
Close calls associated with playing Pokémon Go are already coming in from the US where the National Safety Council is urging gamers to consider safety over their scores – before a life is lost,” says Eugene Herbert, group managing director of MasterDrive.
Keen gamers might take it a step too far according to Herbert...

Here's right there. After several reloads and a hard reset of the cache, he's still there

This is peak muppetry

That's how I understood it, can't see him being away until the 6th personally, will be shocked if we let this drag on until the end of the week.
