Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Jose is not getting rid of Rooney, people need to accept that

We need to accept that we're paying catch up with other big clubs. We should have started investing in WC players long ago, but since 2008 we have stalled and we've been negligent to address that. With Fergie gone and horrendous manages at the helm for past 3 years we're in a downward spiral. Finally we've a manager who has the required pull to get big players. I would throw 100 million at Pogba without blinking as he's one of the brightest prospects around. He's 23 and already played a good Champions league final. Only way for him is upwards as he shapes himself to be one of the best in the world. Club could earn back 100 million very easily but once he's tied down to a new contract or gone to any other club, we cannot get him for next 4-5 years. If sponsor money is not for spending in top players, then what's the use of it?

Interesting.

Mourinho apparently had a secret meeting with our English players before the Iceland game according to daily fail. So it wouldn't surprise me if it is correct that somebody from Rooneysside has leaked the Pogba story.

L'ÉQUIPE are very reliable. there are alot of wheels on this pogba bus. If coming back to United was in the cards I can see this transfer happening after euros. exciting times and love that we are going to go 4-3-3!
When it comes to transfers, L'Equipe is just like any other newspapers.

Definitely this years transfer saga. I firmly believe the rumors will keep going until end of august. Shades of Sneijder/Thiago/Ramos/Özil here. It isn't gonna happen for many reasons, but most importantly Juventus doesn't have to or want to sell. I doubt very much Pogba would push for a move either and even if he did the transfer fees we are talking about would be enormous. I don't really think any player in the world is worth that much. Maybe Neymar or Bale, but a midfielder like Pogba? Don't get me wrong he is a great player and I'd love to have him back, but it's just not really realistic. In my opinion this is just Raiola pushing to get Pogba a better contract exactly same situation as Ramos last year.

Don't do this to yourself guys. He just won't come here.

This is the official muppet thread of 2016. This is going to a bumpy ride I'd say, with a possibility we fall off the vehicle.
PogbON

Last year was the first time in years that I never really got invested in the big muppet saga, never truly believed Ramos was on.

This is on though. Obviously.

That remains to be seen, we haven't been competitive since fergie left.

That's because we did not replace Fergie with another World class manager.
We first replaced him with a mid table manager, who got mid table results.
We then brought in a manager who had not had any league success for a while and had no experience in the EPL. So, every season we were targeting 4th/5th place.
Mourinho fixes both the deficiencies identified above, so should deliver Fergie-like results.

I remember when Ramos was definitely coming to United. And it definitely wasn't about getting more money.

I remember that.
There was no way the Madrid captain would sign for MUFC - that was a little ludicrous.
And coincidentally, he was in negotiations with Madrid, for a contract renewal (something we are all too familiar with).
Rumour has it that Neymar is also currently negotiating a contract renewal and like Ramos before him, is considering an offer from MUFC. ;)

I think Madrid are in pole position to get Pogba, but we have the Mourinho factor on our side, so who knows...

They have the Zidane factor and CL winners factor meaning CL football next season factor coupled with a dozen other factors they trump us on.....

Yeah...I guess...

...but Sneijder... :( I still believe he could have been that missing link we needed. urgh...

Yes but he ended up in Turkey as a result of trying to get too much cash out of us so that ended well :)

If we get Pogba, who do you play him with in midfield?

Rooney in midfield? yikes, overrated and didn't see any creativity during Euros. Was good with his long balls, but that's it. Ball control is horrendous.
Herrera? I like him, but will he be able to perform each and every week?
Carrick and Schweinsteiger will probably rotate.
Schneiderlin, will he rediscover his Southampton form?
Fellaini is Fellaini.
Mata, not sure Mourinho will like him in the middle of the park.
Blind? TFM?

with the recent rumors that Madrid are offering Chelsea Moralta and 40 mil for Eden Hazzard.... I tend to believe Pogba may be back at Manchester United.

As it stands most likely Rooney next to DM with Pogba in #10.

I don't care about Michou, I want Paulo.

Someone who is quite reliable when it comes to Arsenal thinks Man Utd will get him. Impressive signing if you could pull it off.

I think there is a very, very good chance this will happen personally.

Pog, Zlatan, Miki and Bailly in one summer would be superb work by Lord Woody.

I don't think this will happen. He's going to end up at Madrid.

I'm really hoping that Madrid don't want him as much as we do, it seems 100% that were willing to stump up the huge numbers required. Hopefully Madrid (Perez) will be put off. If that's the case then it should be a clear path for us to get him, surely we must have some kind of assurance from Pogba that he would be willing to come here. stay away Madrid! Even if it was a race between us and them we could still have a chance, we don't know what Pogba wants.

If we do get him, it would be very exciting.

If it's up to me, a DM (Morgan, whoever you pick) + Pogba + Mkhitaryan with Herrera/Pereira rotated if needed. But of course Rooney will play.

This one is definately happening, City and Arsenal ITK's told us so.

Jokes aside, Kante to Real, Pogba to United. Win-win. I believe, we believe.

He is a Manchester United player through and through. I watched him in the reserves and said to my brother that he would be world class.

I was gutted when he left, that he and Ravel would not fulfill my dream of running our midfield like a pair of bosses.

If it takes a world record to get him back, do it. Forget about players like Kante. I'm ok with Morgan protecting the back four. He will flourish under Jose if he takes his opportunities.

The real reason I want Pogba back is for him, which I believe he will if he comes, forces Rooney out of the side. Rashford and Martial have banished him from up top and Zlatan just cements it.

If not Pogba then Kroos of course but we need Wayne out the side for us to truly progress. I believe Jose, although a fan of Wayne, will make the right choices. He has a lot riding on this.

Same stuff that has been said for ages. United chasing, Mourinho an admirer but Real are also interested. I don't doubt that we're interested but it'll be too difficult to pull off.
