So Pogba would prefer Real Madrid... I really don't see how he would come then. Unless his agent can beg him somehow, I don't understand why we keep talking about it.

The only thing that doesn't sit right with me is the assumption that we have to fake our interest in Pogba. I'm pretty sure both Ed and Jose will love him here and we have enough money so we're obviously interested. But it's not like Pogba himself is toying with us or Madrid - the info that is getting out sets a clear message - if Real can make a deal with Juve, Pogba will choose them, if not, United have a great chance. There is no need to create conspiracy theories when the reality suits Raiola and Pogba.

Big deals are rarely done in cash, all sorts of clauses, instalments and addons that need negotiating to satisfy both clubs.

Whether people approve of Pogba or not, if we pull it off, it is a real signing of intent. We would really prove that a club like Manchester United does not lose pulling power that easily and we still attract the best players.

I disagree about Rooney. Is he a top class player? No, of course not.... But he still has a ton in the tank to give the team. The beauty about this squad is
A) we will be exciting to watch.. And score a lot of goals.
B) we have a great line up and our bench is better than half the premier leagues first teams.
C) we have enough talent and enough real tactics to win games thus relieving pressure on players like Rooney.
D) Rooney can break the record and he deserves it in my opinion.
E) we start decreasing his role tactically and let him ride off...
In summary I think the potential makeup of this squad us more than enough to compete with and quite possibly compete for the title this season is a good fit for Rooney. Less pressure and more opportunities and a winning mentality are contagious.

If there's one manager with the capability of getting players to punch above their weight its Mourinho. I think he could turn back the clock with Wayne next year.

Mourinho cannot alter the fact that Rooney is physically a shadow of what he was, that's not confidence or formations and systems, it's simply nature.

A year ago Raiola specifically addressed Pogba and Real and was quite harsh in his comments about Real, talking about how they are constantly rotating managers and players with no kind of loyalty and that they would want a more solid club. I doubt he would have done that if Real were Pogba's 'dream club'. Of course if Pogba does actually want them (Zidane obviously does improve their standing), then Raiola will do all he can. But Raiola doesn't seem to be the kind to be particularly tactful. If Pogba truly does want to go to Real and if Real are a realistic chance, we'll start hearing more solid links soon enough.

L'ÉQUIPE are very reliable. there are alot of wheels on this pogba bus. If coming back to United was in the cards I can see this transfer happening after euros. exciting times and love that we are going to go 4-3-3!
