Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

I honestly do. All this pausing talks is nonsense. They know right now if they are willing to pay the fee or not.
Raiola said himself that its about the project and can't be about the manager. Well the project manager in Perez isn't his biggest fan and the manager Zidane really wants him.
They're even saying they cant pay the wages on principal since he would be so high up the scale. Isn't every galatico at the top of the scale when they sign with Madrid? Its not as if Marcelo is their top earner and Bale /James / Benzema and Ronaldo had to work their way up.

Totally plausible.

also about Pogba, No player has won possession in the defensive third more times at Euro 2016 which is not bad considering hes being asked to do a different role for his Nation.
Wow, in that case it is incredible how lambasted he has been by fans and pundits alike for his defensive contribution while being literally the best defensive player haha. I only saw two france games. Bizarre how poor we all really are at observing football

Wait, isn't Pogba's agent the same agent as Mkhitaryan and Ibrah? Surely if we really want him he could get him.

Think Pogba is this year's Modric/Fabregas/Alcantara midfield pipe dream.
Yep, that is when we had Moyes in charge. Not surprised. Now Mourinho on the other hand. Four year contract. The calibre of player we are going for. This is PogboN.

Guy is part of Di Marzio's team.

Sorry if im adding fuel to the fire, need the muppet inside me to burn

United have been missing a hairstyle connoisseur since David Beckham.

Can't put a price on that weekly supplementary entertainment.

winning a defensive third stat doesnt make a player the best defensive player. Thats only one of a number of defending roles and duties a player has.

Selling him alone will be a trophy in itself and whoever pulls it off will deserve a gold medal.
This. I'm not his biggest fan and I think he's nowhere near as good as made out, he is undoubtedly box office... If we got him at the quoted astronomically absurd price+wages, he'd be prohibitively expensive... Even for Real and even for free in a post-Brexit world.

If he leaves after 4 years, the potential return on the investment in terms of trophies won and money made in marketing terms, it would have paid for itself. If, in the unlikely event he left after two years, he would cost an even bigger amount.

No matter which way you look at it, it's win-win.

This smells like Ramos from last year -- an agent using United's name to do deals elsewhere only this time the club might be letting Raiola do it for the two players he's (hopefully) delivered.

Absolutely zero chance Pogba will return back to Utd

More like 0,0001 % But I agree, some people are too optimistic. He will either go to Madrid or stay at Juve and wait another year while still playing in the CL...

This champions league stuff is boring now. We signed ADM in a much worse situation. We have Jose, can offer much more money than Juve can, have one of the world's best managers, competing in a league that would be interesting for any player given all the strides teams have been taking in regards to management etc. We can offer exposure, a bigger brand and an exciting project. Also for example; Mickey is playing in a team that has CL, we don't, yet he is still basically forcing a move, this defeatist attitude is just boring now, I don't believe we will sign him but the thought that there is close to no chance is criminal imo.

This is a blatant ploy to get a shiny new contract at Juve. Surprised people think this will happen. Glad we aren't so daft as to splash £100m on him.

It is not defeatist, it is realistic.

It's very simple. Pogba wants to go to Real (or Barca). If he signs a 5 year contract with United, he can forget about going to Real for at least 4 years. By then new star players will emerge and he may never fulfill his dream, etc. Signing a long contract in England for a top star player like him wanting to play in Spain isn't the best choice (from his standpoint). All the noises that are being made by Mino are just that. Don't fall for them. It's politics.

As regards ADM, the situation was very different. He wasn't wanted at Real and he preferred to go to PSG. Only because they couldn't buy he came here. Mkhi isn't a top star anyway. No one of the biggest clubs (Real, Barca, Bayern) would go for him.

Excellent player, but can't stand the thought of him coming back.
The way he left, the way he spoke against SAF etc. As good as he is, he was only 18 at the time. I just find it wrong that we buy him back for ridiculous money. Not only that, if given the choice, he prefers Real.
Anyway, in the end he will sign an improved deal with Juve or something of the sort.

All speculation, his agent has said he finds Real Madrid an exciting prospect because of Zidane, said he felt the same way about a few clubs though, us included. Not to add, Madrid don't even seem to be willing to pull the trigger, we do. For arguments sake lets assume it is his "dream" to play for Madrid, by eagerly pursuing him we either force a higher fee from Madrid whilst getting them to splash cash on a player they by no means need, or freeing Kroos who is imo a better player which would cost less to come to us. Otherwise, there's a sure chance he could join us, due to the above mentioned things.

He is still young, you mention 4-5 years which is once again speculation, as we don't know when Madrid would come knocking but even if that was the case he would be in his prime, they signed Ronaldo around that age, Modric around that age, if he is good enough he will still be able to get a move to one of those clubs.

It's a similar situation to ADM, Juve don't want to sell, but if they do it seems Madrid aren't ready to pull the trigger freeing his move to us. Only difference being we wouldn't have an incompetent manager doing his best to ensure he doesn't settle. If worse comes to worse his status will ensure we can always sell him to PSG or some other $$$ club for a good portion of the money back.

Realistic thinking would be saying that Bournemoth couldn't sign Pogba, we are the biggest and most marketable club in the world, every player regardless of our current predicament would always get their head turned by us, even if they eventually did choose a different option. It's a win-win for us to pursue him, we either force Madrid to pay big bucks on a player they don't need, we force Juve to offer him a big contract to keep potential suitors away or we get a top class midfielder who can only get better.

I like Pogba but for the price he willwill cost us I can't help thinking Kante and Rodriguez would be better for the money.

Champions league.
That excuse is so overused and generally not true. Let's be honest though With the investment to team and manager, if we don't get top 4 next year it would be an absolute catastrophe.

I am sure a player can miss 1 year of CL, it's not going to hurt them.

You struggle to get the facts right. Real signed Ronaldo when he was 24, Pogba is now 23. He's much more famous than Modric when the latter was 23. At that age Modric went to the mighty Spurs. Futile comparison that.

Time will tell what is realistic and what is not.

IMO, Pogba would prefer to stay at Juve than sign with United for 5 years. Right now United may be very rich and have Jose but Real, Barca and Bayern are miles ahead and it is pointless to wait 4 years to join them when you can do it in 1-2 years. It's very simple really. Personally, I'd be very surprised if Pogba came here, especially this summer. Won't happen. Watch this space.

Ronaldo I was referring to was fat Ronaldo who was closer to 26? Was just the first few examples I could think of, Kroos is another example. Modric's fame has nothing to do with it, if anything that adds less validity to your point as given Pogba's superior exposure Madrid would be monitoring him from a much younger age, making his potential transfer earlier.

I agree that time will tell, and I am also of the opinion that he won't join us, but we are in no way dealing with a 0% chance transfer. He wouldn't have a spot at Bayern, Barca most likely couldn't afford the huge transfer fee he would require and Madrid as mentioned above, regardless of whether or not they pursue him would ultimately work out in our favour.

There is a chance, granted it may not be a huge one but he is the type of players we should be pursuing.

I'm not against trying to get him. As you say, it may force Real's hand and we may sign Kroos instead.

Bayern and Barca don't need him now but it may be different next summer. If he's truly great next season, one of Real, Barca or Bayern will give what is required. There are still question marks about him: is he just very talented or the next big thing in world football? If he shows next season that he's going to be a very special player, one of the big boys will pay what it takes to have him.

Of course we have a chance. We can afford the wages. Can afford the transfer fee. Can afford the agent fees. So to say we have a 0% chance, is laughable.

Will he come? That is a whole different conversation.
