Perhaps. There's always the chance of a player using a big club to get a pay rise at his current club.
But there's a good relationship between Raiola and United now. I doubt he'd want to burn his bridges when he's so close to getting a big pay day for two of his clients.

I mean , their fans will read this and dismiss him. Truth be told, even Real are bulking at the figures that have been mentioned. So they'll try and pass it off as though they never wanted him.

There needs to be a happy middle. He is a great talent yes, but for all the people underrating him, you get the others that massively overrate him. The underrating comes from the price quoted tbh. Everyone knows he's got what is required to become the best, but he is no way there yet, and 120m certainly suggests he is. If my club pay that much for a player, I would expect an awful lot from him, and why shouldn't we?

I think that Perez is the one that isn't too keen on Pogba. I think he's going through the the motions because Zidane wants him, but there's simply not the same media coverage on Pogba from the Madrid press as with previous "galacticos". If he could get him for 70,80 million euros he'd probably pull the trigger, but not break the record.
I'd pay it just to create a raft between Zidane and that smug Perez.
This is going to run for quite a while. Even if we agree a fee, Pogba is probably concentrating on the Iceland game and Juventus are not going to brag before spending the money.

To be fair, all of those players were given opportunities when they deserved them to show what they could do, to thrive and to establish themselves within the club they grew to love.
Pogba was never given those chances and went on to prove he should have been given them after he left. If he was to return, I'd take itt that he'd felt an affinity toward the club and was determined to succeed here.
I really hope we sign him, but it seems that we are getting our expectations to high with all the rumors.

I honestly do. All this pausing talks is nonsense. They know right now if they are willing to pay the fee or not.
Raiola said himself that its about the project and can't be about the manager. Well the project manager in Perez isn't his biggest fan and the manager Zidane really wants him.
They're even saying they cant pay the wages on principal since he would be so high up the scale. Isn't every galatico at the top of the scale when they sign with Madrid? Its not as if Marcelo is their top earner and Bale /James / Benzema and Ronaldo had to work their way up.
