Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Didn't Paddy announce Carrick had signed a new contract this summer a few weeks before it was announced by the club?

Holy shit.. Just noticed Avram Glazer is there too..
And he is smiling.. We are buying China.

It's highly unlikely that he actually has a buyout clause, a release clause is more likely and you can pay them the way you want.

You mean if Juve want they can make a million Euro EYI for 94 years to pay Napoli?

What was actually said by top muppet Crerand?
They were having a casual chat on the pitch. The reporter said "the press are obviously writing a lot" or something like that. Paddy said "Yeah well, the word in the press is that's it's been done for months" as if to say..shows what they know as he still isn't here!

I have a good feeling about today. Yes I realise I've just jinxed it but I still have a good feeling. Feels like the quiet before the storm!

If true, we should tell them do one.

I actually think we will do that. Jose's remarks that we're not going to be held to ransom suggest that we won't cave in over the agent's fee. So Juve will have to compromise and pay a large chunk of the agent's fee themselves otherwise we will pull out. I have no doubt that they will compromise - they'd be mad not to.

I'd love Pogba here but out of principle you can't just be held to ransom in every negotiation, even Levy had his limits! When a Zidane led Madrid baulk at a fee you know you're being taken to the cleaners. Tell them where to go.

Both clubs will discuss about it, but a buyout clause leads to free agency while a release clause is just a transfer fee set by contract.

Not if they activated the release clause. Will they not have to pay the amount at Serie A's offices if they bypassed Juve and activated the clause?

Weren't the three musketeers during the Herrera comedy episode at the LaLiga offices?

Not buyout fees though.

This isn't a buyout clause. This is a release clause. Release clauses aren't mandatory like buy out clauses are in Spain. Those are at the discretion of the selling club and are there only if a player or a club requires it to be put.

That picture of Woody and Avram Glazer looks like "Mission Accomplished" to me....the suppresed smiles....twinkles in the eye and the umbrella as a joke?

Needless to say I hope this is mission accomplished in a good way rather than an Iraq style "Mission Accomplished"

Can Woody fly an F35?

Mention a few similar players who would be available that can play at a similar level to Pogba.

With a 100m to burn there will be a few who can be made available.

What is Pogba's current level? Can you say with certainty that Jose wants to play him as a box to box midfielder, or does he want him as the more attacking midfielder in three?

Also, there are different ways to skin a cat.You don't always get the same type of player with the same abilities; you adjust. You get Carrick for Keane and make it work.

What I read was the Napoli refused to talk about it, so Juve bypassed them and activated the clause. I guess someone is lying then.

Well, I have seen numerous papers use the terms buyout clauses and release clauses in the same articles, as if it was the same.

It's a fair point. I'd love Pogba because of what he can bring but if we can't get him, it won't necessarily be a like-for-like alternative we go for.

I can see it being a more functional, team player but happy Mourinho can find what we need and a way to improve what has predominantly been a underperforming midfield for a few years now.

I think it's a done deal. All about posturing now to make sure all the timing works for all parties.

Yep. If there's a clause in Pogba's contract that states they have to pay a portion of his transfer fee to the agent, trying to push that off onto the buying club just reeks. They were happy enough to include the clause to secure his signature in the first place. If they don't at least compromise on it I'd be happy to pull out.

If we did pull out, they'll either have a player on their hands who's seen how much he can earn elsewhere (so will be looking for a significant new contract or to leave asap) or they'll have to deal with Real who aren't likely to pay as much as we would and more than likely also wouldn't accept to pay the agent fees.

I think this one's going to drag a bit.
