Exactly, all summer the €120m was being thrown around, so Woody had to be prepared to pay that if push came to shove. The 110m + bonuses is just hagling.

The key here is Pogba and just how badly he wants to leave. If he really wants to leave, they aren't going to miss out in 110m+ in order to have an unhappy player earning a fraction of what he could be earning. But just telling Juve that he wants to leave is different than being desperate to leave.
 
The 20% Raiola cut was supposed to be from the transfer fee.. out of the 120m. Recent reports are suggesting that has changed.. So it isnt the same 120m that has been reported all summer.

Has there been any indication of him wanting to leave? Perhaps there is a difference in intensity to wanting to leave for United...and wanting to leave for Madrid.....not sure
 
Prediction: This will go quiet and then Pogba will come back, be interviewed and say he's got no plans to leave.
 
When you are reminded of the falling out with SAF, would seem odd for him to want to come back but the financial aspect might be something he values more

Still the Pogba things was reported by Di Marzio, Sky, BBC, L'equippe, not that it was done but it sure does signal we are trying to sign him. That is pretty clear.
 
This is getting a familiar vibe alright.

Of mourinho thread (before he became manager), zlatan thread, Schneiderlin thread (last year, especially after news came out we were targetting schweinsteiger). Where fans were paranoid we were losing out to PSG/Madrid, Bayern and Arsenal respectively.

Not really, wanting more money does actually mean the seem as having a bid rejected.

If we offer €120m for Pogba and Juve says no we want more money than that, then it is the same as rejected.

Wrong. Fergie isn't the manager anymore and if he was as influential now, we would have retained guys like Fletcher of even Giggs.

Pogba himself told in an interview he wants to come back to united in his career.

Because I've yet to see anything to suggest it isn't. Too much money involved for all parties to back out now, too many people I trust saying it's going to be done (or maybe already done and the media leaks are just spin), too many ducks lining up (Higuain, #6 left free, no sign of us moving on any other players, Mino chilling out there in Miami with him (which I'm optimistically taking as a sign they're just waiting for the call to fly in and do the medical/signing), Madrid-biased Spanish press giving up), Ed and Jose being back in Manchester during the week... just too much smoke now. This train is on the tracks and we're just waiting for it to reach the station.

Not really - he's always spoken fondly of United and his time in Manchester generally. Indeed, there is likely a good bit of 'unfinished business' in his mind given how he seems to be quite driven to succeed but his time at United could be deemed a failure ( with him having to move away for regular football)... In that case, coming back for a world record fee, with the most successful manager currently working to rebuild the team (and get paid a shed load of cash to do so) must surely be a tempting, if not irresistible, prospect

Di Marzio didn't say that. We had our first bid rejected, but not the second. They are still negotiating over the second bid.

There wasn't any falling out per se. His head was spun by his cnut of an agent and Fergie didn't want to bend over backwards for an 18 year old. In those days we were still the top dogs not Galatico chasing 5th/7th place finishers that we have become now.

He went to Juve and got himself game time and his agent probably got a hefty commission & this 20% clause; though if my memory is serving me right, there were a few issues in the beginning at Juve too. Now everyone wants to get paid and we want a top player.

He wore them only 3 times in the league, in 2011-2012, and once in Europa League. And he has a taste of unfinished business.

So maybe Mourinho is confident Pogba would work under him. Should Real be unable to match the bid, and Juventus alright with a 100M euro fee, it should be done.

In what world do people expect Napoli to agree to let Juve pay the buyout fee in installments though? They refuse to sell for anything other than the buyout fee, and suddenly they'll agree to a deal where their rival will get their best player, but one they cant afford to pay up in one bulk? Not buying that one.

In what world has any other buyout fee been paid over several years?
