Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Shocker but there's also the possibility Pogba didn't want to go to City.

This is total BS. As if Real Madrid would wait until the deal between Juve and United is practically done, and then enter the race in the last moment out of the blue to make the highest transfer in the history of the game. One really needs to be a retard to write something like that, or think people who read this stuff are retards (or lacking in basic math knowledge and common sense).

If we're talking up to 30 mil € player, then yes, both United and Madrid can do it out of the blue, but to finance the Pogba deal, any club will need to prepare themselves in front. We're talking 20-25% of yearly turnover for acquiring one player. There's people in finance who need to calculate what kind of payment structure is acceptable to not kill the cash flow and you start from there to prepare the offer. We're surely out of this.

It happened with Ronaldinho. We messed about then they came in and gazumped us - not with a WR offer, but high prices for that time, all because we dithered.

And don't forget this is United, the club with the record of cocking up the most transfer deals in the history of the game.

Is there any mathematical model out there to predict the possible outcome of inflation in transfer fees? If Pogba fulfills his potential, for how much can we sell him to Madrid in four years?

Astronomical fees are frightening and I see just one possible outcome: I call it Shakesey's First Law of Doom:

This law states that the "total transfer fee of a player in an inclusive system increases over time, right up to the point where the irreversible process obliterates itself and the inclusive system it thrives on."

One can understand it better with the following equation: (Inclusive system + economy + transfer fee)Time = Doom

Within a few years only the incredibly dross and incredibly young will be sold for huge sums, while the top players who want to move will run down their contract, or alternatively only be sold in the final year of their contract for equally ridiculous fees.

Hopefully, this eventual "Doom" will translate into players committing their long-term futures to just one club.

I wonder how many Pogba mentions or hints there will be during the programme of the friendly match tomorrow. Paddy won't be able to resist.

Paddy probably still thinks that Pogba is in our youth academy

As excited as I am I really don't trust Raiola. I could see him doing to us what he's doing to Juventus in a few years, hoping to again cash in hugely from a Madrid transfer.

I just hope that Pogba eventually ditches him or at the very least we get a good 3-4 years out of him before forcing Madrid to break the transfer record for him.
We shouldn't really be concerned with Raiola, he doesn't decide where his players go, they are the ones who decide where they want to go. We shouldn't worry about things we can't control in general. If we concentrate on winning Premier Leagues and Champions Leagues Pogba won't want to go anywhere, despite Real Madrid knocking at the door.

I have no doubt that Raiola probably told Pogba that United would double his wages if he moved back to Manchester but Pogba is the person who makes that decision, not Raiola. He has a duty to inform his players about this kind of thing and I were Pogba and he didn't tell me that information because he wanted to protect Juventus from my departure, I'd be incensed.

Plus, if Juventus were paying him the kind of money we were offering and he was truly happy there, this transfer wouldn't even be happening.

If Pobga does move to United, then move on to Madrid in 3 or 4 seasons time, the only people we can blame is ourselves for not being competitive enough.

But you City fans were on here boasting about your massive revenues after your China deal and how ffp isn't a concern for you now?
I don't get this. Apparently Juve will accept 92m if we take care of the agent fee. That's 6m more than Bale.
Was there ever a time that Pogba wasn't going to be a world record transfer when he leaves Juve? Even his wages aren't that unreasonable if the 18% tax is true.

You can't just dismiss the agent fee as part of the transfer. Pogba is going to cost over £100m easily and that's before his wages are considered. City could afford to buy him but he would take a substantial amount of the budget when other areas still need addressing.

I think that Mourinho joining Utd changed everything. Not because he is a great manager but his relationship with Mina Raiola.

I don't think there is any conflict in 'priorities' and being priced out. City have a budget for transfers and buying Pogba would leave us unable to make other additions we therefore walked away.

You have a remarkable aptitude for only seeing things from a very biased perspective. In summary - Pogba has joined United purely because our new manager gets on well with his agent and because City have "other priorities". All other factors and scenarios dismissed. It's this sort of one eyed narrative you keep peddling that renders much of your observations, including your regular predictions of dominance, as spectacularly redundant.

Don't you think that RM has a certain amount allocated for transfers before each window starts? And it is up to the board \ manager (Perez) how it is spent?

For example United have their infamous warchest of about £200m, this is all allocated and calculated before the transfer window starts.

They'd been talking to him for a long while and using Zidane and it was said to be his first choice. Then last night when reports of a deal being agreed were being bounded around they apparently tried to enter the bidding but Pogba had already given his word to United.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that they tried to enter the fray again with the assumption that Pogba would push for them rather than us only to find that he's not willing to go back on his agreement with us.

When Mino says that does he means work still to be done or rumours are false?

Fantastic post. The arrogance in that post in outstanding.

Inviting Real to the party more like.

Doesn't sound close at all tbh. I thought it was funny Mourinho changed his stance on getting the 4th player before the 31st deadline.

Well it's quite obvious there's no deal done as it hasn't been announced by either club.

Massacred him...

That's not the positive news we were all expecting today.

I have a feeling Real Madrid are in the mix as well now.

Did anyone see this?

I'm absolutely convinced it's done. This is all part of an agreement for Juve to spend the money without the inflated market/money in the bank.

They'll wrap up Higuain and then announce it.

 some of you lot need to relax. It's simply a matter of time. Pretend for a second you supported anyone but Utd, how would you view this situation? You'd be pretty confident that it was done deal.

Mourinho used that date in his first press conference.
No he didn't. In the first he said the 4th will be well before the 31st. In this one he said we have until the 31st.

Raiola on Zlatan:
everyone thinks he must go to Manchester United. It's not true."

TWO feckING DAYS before Zlatan joined!

Raiola is a troll, the more he makes things up, the closer the deal is!

Raiola is an irritating man. The deal will be done once he gets his 20% of the fee.

What more would you need to read/hear to think its close?
If it was as close as we are led to believe, I very much doubt his agent would be tweeting that.

I am perfectly calm thanks :)
