Yeah, his sentiments about the running of the club aside, he's normally fairly clued up. His absolute confidence in the matter probably adds stock to his assertion, I'd say.

I am not anti pogba but understand the sentiment. A lot of us don't have time to watch Juventus all the time. We have only seen pogba in the Euros and stuff. For the people that are against him, they also think for this fee we should be getting someone like a Suarez or a Neymar.

It's not that he is not a good player. I think with Herrera, Schneiderlin, Bastian, Carrick, Blind , who can play there and perform quite well. You do not need to break the bank for a player of Pogba's quality. Plus he is not really world class yet in my opinion. You are buying potential for 100 + million.
Herrera will be a star player this season for United. Him and Schneiderlin should be the first choice midfielders.
First, none of those players are remotely close to Pogba's ability. Second, I doubt either of those 2 will be first choice cms this season. I actually think 4 of the players you've mentioned are at risk of being sold and I'd be shocked if Schweinsteiger and Blind aren't at the least.
Even if we didn't get Pogba, about 90% sure we'd buy another first choice cm like Matuidi. You're very optimistic for Herrera, I don't see him getting many games next season outside of Europa or Capital One Cup. Schneiderlin will prob be Pogba's first backup if he signs, then Herrera, assuming both stay. I don't think either are capable of playing the more defensive midfield role Carrick performs. Schneiderlin was particularly awful whenever he tried the role last season. He's purely box to box imo.

I agree. But when we think about it with Martial and Ibra we have the Suarez and Neymar positions occupied with talent. God I'm back and forth. I guess it's just paying that for one player with our luck he'll get injured and our midfield will still be abit of a mess....
Philip Brown is very, very reliable. Knows few football agents that work for Gestefute. Mendes is brokering the deal for Paul Pogba, it is known. So I'd say he will know, if this is done!

Mendes does this from time to time. He helped broker martial deal too i think. There were rumours of mendes working with Raiola for this. My guess is Mendes will use his considerable influence to get juve some midfield gem like Rubén neves or something for tuppence. Mendes could also give them a preference for matic using his influence with Roman. He is a very good guy to help.
