Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Pogba isn't really similar to Pjanic but I would love to see the two of them together. Think that would be a class pairing! With the added bonus of having a free kick specialist in there.
You would need Rijkaard in his prime behind them to have any hope whatsoever defensively with those two in the same midfield.

It's one or the other, unless you like high octane chaos where we simply outscore the opposition when all is said and done!

IMO, the possibility of a transfer depends a lot on Raiola. Considering his strained relationship with United, if Madrid Bayern Barca or City are in the mix then we have no chance.

But if the aforementioned clubs are not involved then we are the only club left that can pay the fee and the wages that Pogba commands. In that case, Woodward would have to somehow convince Raiola and maybe throw in a significant amount of agent fees.

Raiola doesn't have a history of influencing his clients to much but I remember that he was unhappy to see Maxwell and Ibrahimovic miserable at Barcelona.

That sounds like heaven after last season.

Thats what happened during Fergies last season. Our defense sucked but we just somehow managed to outscore the opponent by a goal on more than one occasion.

Agreed you need a DM behind them but disagree you need someone as good as Rijkaard to make it work. They're both not complete lazy bastards in terms of workrate.. they're average for attack minded CMs. Someone like Matic behind them and it would be good enough.

Pogba's a liability defensively a lot of the time and Juve's set-up pre-empts that and lets him have his temper tantrums and strops when things don't work out as he wants and forgets he's got a defensive job to do. Pjanic, not for a lack of wanting to contribute, is someone who is likely to get powered straight through in the PL. You'd need someone far, far better than Matic to cater for one midfielder who is lackadaisical and another who may just be too weak outright, imo. That's a huge job!

I think differently, I think he has a big influence. For example in Zlatan's case, Raiola publically admitted that he will decide his future when Zlatan was at Milan. Even last year, when Zlatan was asked where his future lies, he said "Raiola will decide."

I don't think Pogba would have ended up going to Juventus if his agent was not Raiola. Since Pogbas move to Juve, Raiola on numerous ocassions, has publically talked about Pogbas future and his wages showing great disrespect to Juventus - making statements like "Pogba is going to leave in a year" only to later say that "Pogba might sign a new contract".

IMO agents these days play a really big role in deciding where a player ends up especially if many elite clubs are chasing their client. I feel this is particularly true in the case of Raiola.

I can't even get excited because there's no fiber of my being that thinks this will happen.

I can't see it happening either. Not when he will have the choice of whatever club he wants.

I just have that feeling that he will be wearing the white of Real Madrid come start of the 16/17 season.

We have the Money
We have the manager
We have everything but champions league (yet)
So I don't thinks it's impossible.

Players tell Raiola what they want and Raiola schedules it, he doesn't decide for them, he "just" put things in motion and his players trust him.

Of course thats true for every agent. But every agent doesnt have an equal amount of influence on their clients. Like I said when multiple big clubs are involved the agents often lean towards the ones offering them the highest agent fees, for eg Hazard or Nasri transfers. From the examples ive given especially the ones of zlatan (who doesnt mince words), it seems that he has a significant influence on his clients futures.

Anyway, lets see how it pans out. I definitely think its possible to get Pogba especially if the other big clubs are not actively pursuing him.

Raiola looks remarkably like Mike Ashley.

He also looks like he could have you killed.

Would probably be cheaper and easier to just sign Rafael again and talk Park out of retirement than to get Pogba.

After he left and spoke about how upset he was that Rafael was picked in midfield he did say this...

"It was a very, very difficult moment for me because I was in love with Manchester and I was a Mancunian."

So who knows. Maybe he hates the club now, maybe he'd like a second go at it.

We have the weather?
We are seen as one of the most amazing cities in the World to live?
Just saying there is more to the equation than money and manager

If he comes here, he'll do so because he thinks it's the right move for his career.

The fact that he can probably treble his wage, in a career that can be over in an instant, will no doubt appeal.

Working with a top manager at a club likely to be challenging for titles and with huge exposure worldwide, in the worlds most popular and best marketed league will pay dividends potentially on the pitch and definitely off it in terms of sponsorship and money spinning opportunities.

All of the above makes us a real option. He may prefer the sun in Spain and a move to Real or Barca but the simple fact is, even if they're interested now, we'd probably pay more and he'd almost certainly be the poster boy of the club with all that entails. A massive fee, a big fanfare and perhaps a team built around him to allow him to show what he can do, rather than one of a number of stars.

That's a factor - being in the shadow of others us why players like Bale and Neymar are often being linked with moves away.

This deal would clearly be tough to get done but I personally think we've got a good chance if the club are pushing for it as strongly as they can.

Like with most modern football players, it's ££££ that is the decisive factor.

The main thing is whether Utd are really interested to bring Pogba back to Theatre of Dreams. If Utd are genuinely interested then there is a huge chance he will be back, but imo i doubt Utd are seriously interested.

when he left we were kings but now we are beggars and beggars cant be choosers

Most years that Liverpool team wins the league title but you forget that that particular team was fighting one of United's best ever teams, which had one of the greatest players ever (CR7). Next season its a whole different scenario, any of Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, City and United could win the league with proper recruitment. Zlatan, Pogba, Bailly and Mourinho could be enough to get us the league title. Right now you couldn't make a good guess who would win the league next season, because Chelsea that won the league could turn up next year, anything can happen.
all very true, however the teams that have won the title in recent years have had the benefit of a striker scoring 20-25 league goals. we don't have that and I am not including Zlatan as we don't have him. So no I don't think Pogba will make us title favorites by himself. I know nothing of Bailly and he looks rash and raw so I doubt he can be a big factor in us winning the league either

Just putting it out there, not sure of the difference in age between the two (Obviously a younger player would represent better value for money going forward) but Pjanic managed more goals than Pogba last season (12 to Pogba's 10) and finished the season on the same number of assists as Pogba (Both 12).

For me, it's always been a 'Lets laugh at United' thing with Pogba. The only reason he receives the attention he does is because he's tied to us.

I feel Mourinho wants a title with United, badly and he knows he may achieve it with players like Matic & Pogba in midfield.

I would love to see him back, I find myself bored with our diplomatic players. I want someone to come in, tell me they are the best, and prove it to me every game. Ibra is a great start, and Pogba would be a phenomenal addition. Bring him back Woody!

There is a strained relationship with Fegie and Gill's United. This is Jose and Woodward's United.

Not to mention Raiola is Ibra's agent.

Yes. Maybe it wasn't clear in my first post but that's exactly what I was trying to say that the only reason this deal might happen is A) other big clubs might not be in for him. B) Woodward will bend over backwards for Raiola to make this move happen.

Although I still feel that if the big clubs were in for Ibra, Raiola would not negotiate with us at all unless and until Ibra was adamant that he wants to work with mourinho. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but given Raiola's attitude and repeated condemnation of someone whose still a director at the club, I think he would probably prefer not to deal with us.

Looks like Pjanic could be about to sign for Juve.

That must be worth at least 3 pages of full on muppet speculation?

Marchisio is injured I believe, and I don't believe they rate Hernenes

Pogba will want to move to a team where he thinks its an improvement from Juve.
I seriously doubt whether he will consider us as a step up.

We should sign him at any cost and then just deliberately play Rojo and Jones in midfield ahead of him just to make his head explode. We are Man Utd, we do what we want....even if what we want is just to annoy Paul Pogba for chucking us.

Pogba will be at Real come the start of the season imo.

I think you're right, it'll be interesting to see what happens to Real's midfield this summer with James supposedly on his way out. Do you think he'd push Casemiro out of the starting 11?

I like how you think. We should sign Tevez too, uproot the entire club to Argentina and then refuse to pay him. See how the money grabbing scrotebag likes them apples.
