Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Our "best defence" was courtesy of playing 2 DMC in front of the best Goalkeeper in the world. If Pogba comes, we cannot play a Van Gaal esque short passing safe system so it won't be the same. Also Pogba won't be a DMC in front of the defence. So Blind and Smalling, as they did many times last season, will get exposed and leak goals when attacked more frequently. Who are the World Class options upfront? Liverpool had Torres who is a better forward than all of ours. At his pomp he was top 3 strikers in the world IMO. Also our CM isn;t the level of a Xavi Alonso and Mascherano. considering that sort of team only challenged for the league once with Reina in goal, evidence would suggest we need a bit more. But then Jose could be the leveller :smirk:
Wait are you a Liverpool or united supporter?

This would be a pretty big statement by Woodward if he can make this come to fruition. He has quite rightly taken a beating by the press for his chase of Neymar/Muller etc, but signing Pogba could change the mass opinion on the man. He's got some balls at least because if he fails after trying here it could well spell the end for him.

No chance in hell. Not this window, at least. Calm down.

Pfft. We've gone all FM since Woody took over. Pogba sounds way more likely than Mata mid season from Chelsea, or Di Maria from RM 3 weeks after he was their MOTM in the CL final.

They aren't reporting we are in for him though. They have said we might go for him now that City don't want him...

It's just bullshit speculation but I am confused as to why to source would report the same thing without something to go on

I remember a Paddy Crerand comment on MUTV a few years ago, something like " that was fantastic, the boy had no right to find space there" !!!

I would like it more if United did not pursue Pogba. The club need to have some self-respect even if the fans don't. Particularly when players similar to him are available elsewhere.

If Pogba really come to us, it will be amazing for our future. But, without CL, it's too difficult to make Pogba interested with us I think..

fecking hell, the Paul Pogba thread on Bluemoon has over 3000 (yes, three 0's!) pages. We will never be bigger transfer muppets than City.

If it's true that Juve want Mata, then surely a rare player for player deal could be in the offering?

Mata valued at £25m roughly imo
Pogba Valued at £70m.

Mata + £45m for Pogba?

They wouldn't consider that offer. Mata + £60m maybe... but even that figure doesn't fill me with confidence. I think Pogba stays

You have Xavi Alonso and Mascherano, I'll have schneiderlin and Pogba.

All the Guardian have said is City aren't interested which they've somehow translated to "OMG Pogba to United!!!11"

I agree, but let's be honest... aside from maybe 3-4 teams, most players know in their heart of hearts if their team is good enough to win the CL. I really don't think that the loss of CL football for one season is going to play that big of a role. In fact, I bet their are several players (may never admit it) but if they know they don't really have a chance would rather have the extra rest. The schedules can be brutal during the season with all of the extra games.
I also don't think it reflects poorly on us to bring him back. SAF let him go, and that was his choice. If Jose can get him back... its his choice. SAF was now 3 coaches ago, and its time to move on.
I like Pogba and I think he would be great for us, but I don't think we have got to sign him for us to be successful.

Although he's done well at Juventus, I think secretly Pogba is pretty frustrated that he's not in a big league already, playing for Madrid, Barca, Bayern or even us, god forbid.

At the moment, he's being priced out of a move and in his quieter moments, this must annoy the hell out of him. His ego demands the big stage. Juventus will always be big, but not big enough for him.

Of course, he said he left for United for playing time but he was just a teenager in a foreign land - and that decision was all to do with Mino Raiola's grand plan. His players are all on the Mino monopoly merry go round and actually never seem to get off, as a tide of speculation swirls around them year after year. Mino plays the system well. I honestly don't think Pogba has a clue what he's doing - or where he's going next.

That said, a nation expects - and Pogba is expected to deliver. He'll be under more pressure this summer than he's ever been. Of course, the boy's got talent but let's see if he can inspire his team to glory. If he does, Mino might combust.

Would go all out for him if he's seemingly available.. Ibrahimovic & Pogba would put us top of league for biggest ego's :D

He's not one of a kind, but go on I'd generally like to know the similar players to Pogba that are available. Enlighten me.

What about the two other players United is reportedly chasing? Pjanic. Andre Gomes?

Should never of let him go but thems the breaks, would like him back here but I just can't see it.

Pogba is a great player and all, but I don't feel comfortable that we go after a player who willingly left us for free when the club needed him to stay and did everything to achieve that.

when he left we were kings but now we are beggars and beggars cant be choosers

Most years that Liverpool team wins the league title but you forget that that particular team was fighting one of United's best ever teams, which had one of the greatest players ever (CR7). Next season its a whole different scenario, any of Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, City and United could win the league with proper recruitment. Zlatan, Pogba, Bailly and Mourinho could be enough to get us the league title. Right now you couldn't make a good guess who would win the league next season, because Chelsea that won the league could turn up next year, anything can happen.

IMO, the possibility of a transfer depends a lot on Raiola. Considering his strained relationship with United, if Madrid Bayern Barca or City are in the mix then we have no chance.

But if the aforementioned clubs are not involved then we are the only club left that can pay the fee and the wages that Pogba commands. In that case, Woodward would have to somehow convince Raiola and maybe throw in a significant amount of agent fees.

Too much emphasis on Raiola and agents in general. Pogba isn't a kid looking to grow. The only people that matter is Pogba and the selling club.
