Even if that ia the case, we need a minimum of 5 year deal to have any negotiating power once he decides to feck off to the Spanish powerhouses. Imagine us losing him on a free again in his prime after we get him after spending 100 million pounds, it would be like a huge slap on our faces.I read somewhere that the sell to Pogba was to work with Mourinho for 3 years and then move to Real/Barca. Hopefully though we can go on to be a top club again and he will want to stay longer. As an ambitious player though, I think he will want to one day play for Real/Bafrca
You think so?
We haven't overpriced for some players already for instance?
Biggest stumbling block was convincing the player to join. If the journo is right then the deal is all but done, Juve wont turn down a world record fee. He is special but not irreplaceable for them, and since they nicked him from us to begin with, their fans should be ok with it. And lastly, if we dont believe anythign else we can always be certain that Raiola is a money grubbing cnut and he will not give up an eight figure payday for himself.
Look usually I'm one of those I don't care, it's not my money. But 100 million sounds a lot.We overpaid for Martial even though he is worth it now. Overpaid for Shaw according to some he was worth it. Overpaid for Herrera, Mata and Fellaini.
We have a history of overpaying. But that comes with the territory at a big club. I don't care as long as we get the player.
Could you imagine Woodwood pulling these signing off if we still had LvG? I think a lot has to do with the pulling power of José tbh.We have signed Bailly, Ibrahmovic, Mkhitaryan and now we are apparently close to signing Pogba. Woodward is the best thing to ever happen to this club.

Tell that to Bayern as I think they didn't get the memo of overpaying if you are a big club.We overpaid for Martial even though he is worth it now. Overpaid for Shaw according to some he was worth it. Overpaid for Herrera, Mata and Fellaini.

This. If you read Zlatan's book Raiola has a lot of the details hashed out long before the player knows anything. Obviously, Pogba will have to give it the thumbs up first, but Raiola will have worked out the terms beforehand if he sees an opportunity for the deal to go through.Pogba doesn't need to be present for any of these negotiations. It's all Raiola right now. If he gets an offer that he thinks is acceptable then the player will go with it.

I thought the same the first time that he would 'definitely' not feck us over and leave when he did after all we did for him. However, if history is any indicator I would not be surprised if he fecked us over again to get his ultimate move to Madrid or Barca. We definitely wont lose him on a free. Like I said though, as long as we are successful (get back to competing for UCLs) I think he stays for at least 5 years.
I dont think we overpaid for Shaw imo, Chelsea were going to get him and everyone knew about his potential despite his age. He was a beast of an 18 yo.We overpaid for Martial even though he is worth it now. Overpaid for Shaw according to some he was worth it. Overpaid for Herrera, Mata and Fellaini.

To think some people didn't want Mourinho if we still had LvG, Romero would be our GK and the biggest signing of the summer would be Mane/Garay or someone.
Some of our fans have been so desperate for success they cling on to the notion that transfers constitute some form of success or that they are an end in themselves. They justify the ridiculousness by claiming that this is the "norm". But oh well, this has been the way the club has been working for few years now and let's just hope we can at least justify it with some success.Tell that to Bayern as I think they didn't get the memo of overpaying if you are a big club.
Chucking £100m at a club, for a player worth nowhere near that, helps.Could you imagine Woodwood pulling these signing off if we still had LvG? I think a lot has to do with the pulling power of José tbh.
Well this is a nice Eid present!
I think this'll be the first contract you'll have with a release clause just to ensure Barca/RM digs deep into their wallets
Worst transfer window ever.
I have no clue what they paid for Sanchez but Martinez and Goetze were not over price considering one was from Bilbao who wouldn't accept anything less than the release clause and the other the pivotal from their fiercest domestic rival. Imagine us getting Aguero from City for 40 mil. Do you think that is overpaying? How much did they pay for Sanches again? Gotze and Martinez were hardly cheap. It's easy when your primary market is Germany and you have no competition in your league.
For a player like Shaw, we have to compete with three or four English players to buy him.
Renato Sanchez is 40 mil plus 40 mil addon. That's 2/3 of 120 mil. Some of our fans have been so desperate for success they cling on to the notion that transfers constitute some form of success or that they are an end in themselves. Party pooperSorry guys but as a Juve fan I still find all this hilarious!
And I'm a bit shocked that some of you are already discussing about his shirt number!
Last year he was a Barca player, a month ago Di Marzio talked for days about him to Real... now it's your turn!
Same exact story every year and then he always stays.
As I often said here on RedCafe, I believe that the same will happen this summer, for the simple fact that Paul is happy at Juve (today he tweeted about the "cool" new away jersey, a few days ago he thanked Juve on Instagram after they wished him good luck for the France game... to be honest I doubt that a player with the intention to leave would do this, I guess he would just stay silent and wait...)
We'll see if I will be right or wrong.
If he really leaves I will say sorry.
Good night everyone.
