Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

The prices bandied about for Pogba are ludicrous. The Italian League is rubbish and he's been good but not great in the CL to date. £30 odd million would be a fair price in today's market but whoever buys him will have to be stupid enough to spend twice that alas.

I have never seen anyone suggest that Pogba could have a bigger influence in a team than Verratti, Verratti changes a midfield.
I look at the attributes that we need in midfield, power, height, driving runs, goal threat and I see all of that in Pogba more than in verratti. If we could have both brilliant, but its unlikely we could even get one. Verratti would have question marks for me over his height and strength in the Prem even tho he does appear to handle himself very well when I've seen him.

Verratti is the more influential player from a technical and tactical standpoint, he is also the more aggressive and determined player of the two, he has been made in the same mold than players like Scholes, the real problem with Verratti is that he will get stuck in way too much in the PL because if someone tells him that in the PL you can be more physical he will go full Keano at least once per game.

Yeah, it's not about the amount you are ready to pay when it comes to PSG. They simply refuse to negotiate.

Pogba is overrated and defo not worth forking over an astronomical fee for him. It took Vidal and Pirlo to leave Juventus for him to become the best midfielder in the team. Hes not the finished product and is a long way from that, the games Ive watched him play I just think there is still more for him to contribute to become worthy of such a high price tag. Id rather we gave Fosu Mensah a crack in midfield and used the money to try and get Griezemann to join us.
Well the thing is that Griezemann would be a fantastic signing but if the midfield cannot hold the ball and provides forward passes, they won't score... Our best midfield right now is more or less Herrera Schneiderlin Mata, maybe Rooney (if remotivated by Mourinho). Pogba could replace Herrera in games where we need more physical impact... Or play instead of Schneiderlin if we want to dominate a weaker side. I don't feel like he's the player who's going to change everything, but he would bring a Vieira type of influence, i.e. he could be the next Roy Keane. And I would love to see him combine with Herrera and Mata.

30m gives you a Herrera, Schneiderlin or Xhaka. Pogba is far better than any of them.

He isn't an 80m pounds player, but likely he will cost in that region. I think that 60m or so would be as fair as it can be, but Juve are quite rich to sell him on a fair price.

If any player is worth ~£100m(which noone is) Pogba would surely be one of them? Extreme type of player and top class.

Juve will probably sell when they know theyll get Andre Gomes

I thought he was strongly linked to United?

I don't care if we pay £100M for him if it means getting him, we need to get back to the top and players like him will help us get there.

Who cares about the fee when we're loaded?

For 100m juve will deliver him to old Trafford in a limo.

They're already owning the serie a, and you know how poor the italians are.

100m is a lot of money they can do with rather than keeping pogba

The only United links to Pogba are coming from Duncan Castles, and I'm not going to invest my time into this based on something Castles said. If there is something genuine, it'll come from Di Marzio.

Don't like the scrotum, but isn't he basically Mendes/Mourinho's mouthpiece? If he's pushing Pogba to United, that's what they want out there. That doesn't mean it's true or anything, though.

Pogba might be the most overrated player on the planet.

But he's still very good and worth paying big money for, especially for a club like United that has more money than it can spend and has struggled to buy established top players in recent years.

So the story goes.

I very highly doubt he actually is though.

i agree with this.

Overrated and overpriced. I agree that Verratti is the better player too but as unlikely to get as Pogba

I agree that he's overrated and over priced right now but his skill set is so vast that you wonder how good he will be once he reaches his peak.

At present he still inconsistent and makes wrong decisions but he's 23. When you look at what Jose did with Deco and Lampard, I've got no doubt Pogba will be a top 3 player in the world under him.

If we can get Pogba we should pay whatever it takes.

He may be Mendes' mouthpiece but he also has an agenda against United (which is very unprofessional) and he's absolutely trash at getting transfer stories right. Pretty sure that last summer he was debunking our transfers right before they were about to officially happen.

Pogba is definitely overrated but he's still one of the best CMs (definitely top 10) in the world at the age of 23. And his combination of skill, athleticism, and physical frame gives him amazing potential, he can genuinely be a top 5 player in the world with his talent.

Expect things to be very different with him this summer.

Why would we pay 100m for him though? That price is absurd. If they want that much, I hope we tell them to get fecked.

Because if we dont pay it then city will and thats how you get left behind. You want the best players you pay the premium, its time UTD starting putting their money where their mouth is and spending big.

But there is a limit and that has bypassed it!

Our midfield is crying out for a dynamic and athletic ball carrier that can add goals and assists as well as work hard, Pogba is the best around at this IMO.

What's he worth? My guess is about £60m considering todays market and they don't have to sell. Surely we could pay £40m and do a Woodward on it with bonuses raising to 60-70m?

They'd laugh at the figure if we offered it.

If we paid 80 million for a player from our own academy, we'd be the laughing stock of football.
