In hindsight, he should have been given a contract and loaned out with us paying his wages. Could have brought him back when he matured. Would have been 10s of millions cheaper than he will cost us to re-sign him. Would love for us to sign him but think he'd refuse any offer to come back here. He'll end up at City.
He should have been starting for us instead of Tom fecking Cleverley.

Who cares what rival fans tease you about on twitter ffs.

This guy us attainable if we put our hands in our pockets and we should make it happen!

Don't know who sold Matic at Chelsea but it was no problem for them to take him back for much higher price than they sold him, so why not to do the same with Pogba, of course we would massively overpay and look a bit stupid but feck it, he's quality and anybody of big clubs would pay that money for future baloon d'or player. Let's see it as a bit expensive loan move with a bit higher buy back clause..

Please stop all discussions regarding this player. Complete cease & desist. It will never happen, and you will end up getting hurt again. Please stop.

Sincerly,
the biggest muppet of them all :(

with you 100% on this. There is no player I want more.

But god damn its hard not to get worked up over this one.

I dont understand why people think all the top world class player would join us.
oh i dont know.. maybe because we are the most supported club in the world whilst also being the most successful English club of all time and combined with some of the most money in the world. Most players would jump at the chance to play for Utd and its frankly amazing that Utd fans of all people dont realise that.

In light of evidence of the last 7-8 years, I find it amazing that Utd fans genuinely believe in all of that. Di Maria is the biggest name player we have signed in a decade and yet we were his second choice to a sugar Daddy club. He then forced a move to said Sugar Daddy club 10 months later. Other than that I cannot recall top players joining United, especially over other clubs, but then hey, what do I know?

But unfortunately that completely ignores circumstance and the reason why we either didn't go for those top players or they chose not to come here. For example, under Fergie he believed in value in the market and so we would rarely compete with other clubs for the biggest players. Hazard would have certainly joined had Fergie paid the agend fees but he didn't because he didn't believe in that. Right or wrong that was his football values and I can respect that.

David Moyes started his tenure late on in the summer because he was contractually still Everton manger this meant that he wasn't able to identify targets fast enough, He was also an in incompetent fool and that also didn't help. We had a shocking window that year and we simply went for unrealistic targets. We still ended up signed Mata who was a world class player from a rival club.

Under Van Gaal we have signed some top players. Di Maria said the only club he would leave Madrid for was Utd, clearly he has zero balls and no spine at all but he was still a top player. Falcao was a huge name and again was linked with many top teams, Memphis was one of the most highly touted young wide men in the world as there was strong interest from PSG and Liverpool yet little old Utd got him as well.

I'm getting bored of this post so let's just lets just leave it there, but the point is that we have as a high a chance of signing any player in the world as anyone else bar maybe Madrid, Barca and Bayern. If Pogba moves this summer why would we not be an option? The amount of players in the media that say how huge a club are yet even our own fans want accept it, just unbelievable to me.

You don't understand my simple post?

I think he'll go where the money is? What's so difficult to understand?
Because money's not everything. Just see the latest reports on Benzema when he was at Lyon. You think players will just go wherever the most is paid? That's naive

Ferguson believed in agent fees, he just thought that Hazard agent asked too much.

The sheer amount of money that we earn on a yearly basis far outweighs any fee we'll likely have to pay for him.

As a fan, I understand the amount of money would be a lot in certain terms, but in terms of Manchester United; it's not a lot.

Pay whatever it takes, he'll transform our midfield instantly.

As much as I rate Pogba, out of principle I don't think we should be buying back players who previously turned down our offer of a contract and left on a free.

It's nothing to do with 'being a laughing stock' but more about the message it sends to other emerging talented youngsters in our squad.

Most of 'em definitely will, yeah.
They wont. They have a preference of clubs and that's why not every player joins City or PSG. If Pogba can decide between Real, Barca, United or City, he'll go to Spain most likely as both teams are much stronger and better

Has there been anything to substantiate this?

This and he is overrated and overpriced.

What's the difference between an offer and a firm offer, by the way?
It's similar to the difference between "considering a bid" and "preparing a bid".

Also, Pogba will go to Real or Barca. I can't see any reason he wouldn't.

How is that different from Lukaku? They left because they knew they were good enough and weren't getting games. And both have been completley vindicated. Is there another midfielder in his age bracket who is as good? I think he'd improve us significantly.

Or he'll go to the club that'll pay him the most money.

Your opinion is as valid as mine. Don't forget who his agent is.

Lukaku didn't run down his contract to leave Chelsea on a free, but I don't think they'd be wise to buy him back either.

Agents dont force players to join clubs. If another club doesnt offer enough to Juve, they wont accept it, but if several clubs get permission to talk to players, other factors why to join a club will play an important role. Both United and City are not top top clubs right now

They can do. How does one get Champions League winners to play in China? Pirlo's agent told him "you are staying at Milan" despite being emotionally on his way to Real Madrid

Is this modern day slavery then where the cruel agent forces players to join clubs he doesnt want to? Yeah, sounds very likely. Do you think Pirlo couldnt have moved to Real if he really wanted? Established, world class football players are not the object of the agents. It might be different for young players with a poor background in other countries, but not here. I dont know where the myth comes from that the agent has all the power over players

But, but I thought we were the richest club and could buy anyone???

If we manage to secure Pogba it would go a long long way to making us a very feared side again he is world class in every way. If we got him as well it would attract others but I can only really see him going to Barca or Real.
