As a squad we arent strong enough to play without atleast one of Bruno OR Pogba against good opposition. Think Ole must have realised that today. As long as we are learning then its ok. Thankfully top 4 is still in our hands, we just have to win every game

Jesus give it a rest, your argument that Bruno should be pressing more "because he's a 10" is frankly ridiculous when he was out there closing down players when t hey were in our own half knocking it about. And when you're faced with Pogba's lazy error in the first 20 mins of the game that led to a goal you don't like it and think I'm an "ass" for factoring into a comparisons of performance.

Okay. If it makes sense to you. Glad im
Not blessed with your insight.

Do you not think Ole should have learned that vs Spurs?

Didn't watch all of the game as forgive me for watching my local boys win the play off final, but that play from Pogba for their goal was him at his worst wasn't it.

Needs to quickly snap out of that complacency stuff.

If the touch wasn't heavy he wouldn't do those lapses. He just needs to do better and can only blame himself for it.

He’ll always have those lapses. I’d prefer he doesn’t pick the ball up there. It happens far to often and it will happen again. Heavy touch or not. If that’s the case we need to switch on as a unit.

He just strikes me as weak mentally, or just incredibly immature. Look up see, get to know whats around you before you're ready to receive the ball facing our own goal. I mean, as talented as he is you might wonder if he is purposefully this bad. Terrible.

We saw Fred do exactly the same thing a couple of times. Its not exactly complacency I dont think the keeper is telling them he is giving them a risky ball.

When we have conceeded the exact same goal a few times with different player you have to start thinking there is another issue at play

Different scenario. You are talking about when he took too many touches in that dangerous area.

This scenario is basically his fault for did the heavy touch. Anyone who does Lukaku will be punished and you can't say that the other players not switch on when your our own player lost the ball in such a dangerous area.

It totally baffles me to see some of the comments here. Most of the players seemed toasted in the 2nd half, Pogba was having a a streak of (very) good games after not playing for 9 months because of injuries and all of a sudden, he's "mentally weak" or a "show poney" after ONE bad game. This is absurd.

I'm not even talking about his "average pass" for Martial when he in fact put it exactly where it needed to be so it's out of reach of the defender.

I think the poster above pointed it out perfectly. Yes bad touches get punished but the players need to all he switched on. He didn’t give them the ball inside the box with a 1on1 gift.

That’s what happens when your true opinion is suppressed because he’s playing well.

I speculated in him being mentally weak. It's not one bad game. I saw his performance against Southampton coming a mile away. 1. He usually always struggle when the going gets tough and he has to dig in to perform. 2. He hates it when people press him, and usually he just crumbles for the entire game. Which happened. He has been amazing up to this point, I'm not going back on that at all.

People get so upset with him because he is so talented. That tonight was pathetic though and its happened a lot of times. Giving the ball away in attack is fine as its far from goal. Giving it away where he does is criminal. Did it against Cardiff on final day of season where the fan had a go at him at the end. He's just so causal at times it drives me bananas because he's got so much talent.

And he got caught again 20mins later in our own half in the first half for being casual and not realising he had men pressing him. He needs to sort it out.

In a season where he is fully fit he has that kind of game like he did tonight too many times. Why I brought KDB into it is because he has far less poor nights than Pogba does. Much less.

I never say they shouldn't be switch on. They were all switched on.

I just said it in my previous post, just because we were conceded from the goal doesn't mean players didn't switch on. He lost the ball in dangerous position result in being counter when players weren't in good position & Southampton took the chance.

He's to blamed, he should and can do better next time, learn from the mistake and move on. Saying others not switching on is just weird.

KDB also doesn't play for our club. We've been through the mire in recent years. We either sign a holding mid that's consistent in that situation or De Gea simply has to spank it forward. Not every club should try that stuff.

I know but I asked should he even be there. My thing is we don’t play into their hands and we can’t continue to think individual mistakes are just that. It’s too common. It’s a collective.

Well yeah, it was predictable that he'd have a hard time after playing 6 games in a row after a 9 months break. He was very heavy, anyone could see it. You don't get heavy because you don't like being pressed, it's what happens when you're out of gas.

Keane's comments from a couple of games back about him not wanting to be leader.

Bring caught once ok.
Twice and you start to question .
Not his best game And that’s an understatement.
Won’t hang him out to dry though as he is just coming back and he looked very leggy all game. Understandably so.

I agree he looked exhausted, gangly and awkward similar to AWB this game, but Pogba has had these issues as a midfielder for a while. I'm not going to get deeper into this, making excuses or criticising him further but I'm disappointed that's all.

So now back to Pogba again, you are going to circle. There is no reason why he shouldn't be there and there is no reason why a player cannot do better, and there is no reason a player as caliber as Pogba should be doing Lukaku's touch.

There are few players in world football I'd trust in that situation(maybe 5 or so), and none of them play for our club. The press was on, almost all passes were covered, when we went back to the keeper he should have hoofed it.

Paul is a gifted player but there's no use acting like he's Busquets or Verratti or the likes because he isn't. Doesn't have the close control or agility to do that sort of stuff, so why bother with it?

It was a terrible mistake and he's to blame for it. It is a mistake we can avoid though so it's best we do that. Imo his second error was more egregious, that's just messing around being foolish however it was at a distance we can recover from.

+1 this sentiment. Some have already made up their mind. They don't want to go back on that because they would be admitting they were wrong. Too much pride for that to happen. Instead they rather call a guy whos been playing well for the past 4-5 games and has 1 poor game, rubbish

Pogba is a great player and with the right attitude can be a great player for us but it’s bizarre he has never cut out the also bizarre tendency to hold onto the ball far too long particularly in his own half. 4 years he’s been at United and he was at Juve 4 years prior to that, you’d think he would try and improve that side of his game. Cost us a goal tonight. He’s played pretty well recently.

Exactly the guy looked absolutely shattered. He hasnt played all season and today had his first bad game clearly due to being over played yet people are going at him.

Also plays in a far far better team with a better coach.

His pass for Martial isn't something I would have a go at, it was a very well executed creative play in my opinion but even if this is his "first bad game" for the season, it's not in terms of his time spent here. He just came out in a interview telling us how this is a real team and that it is more balanced, better attacking and better defensively, yet he is the one making the same mistakes he used to do under Mourinho. I hope people aren't blaming him beyond his responsibility as a midfielder, but that was an atrocious performance. If anyone is about to tell me he shouldn't play at CM where he is prone to these mistakes but at left wing in front of Rashford or prioritised in front of Bruno at nr.10 then fair fecks given to those who don't know shit.

What are you on about? Did you not get the fact that he has been injured all season and is only now playing again and has played 7 games in the space of 3 weeks. You don't think he's likely to be a bit leggy?

Honestly some of you have your knives out. There's only been maybe 2 times pogba has given away the ball in a dangerous situation. One resulted in a goal tonight but that doesn't mean he has a problem he was clearly extremely tired.

He only played full 90 minutes the last 2 games only. I'm not sure about this "tired/leggy" stuff.

He was just very poor today. Of course some are worried because he was putting on similar shite like this in the last few years, but I'm ready to pass it on as a one off and move on to next game.

He hasn't played for 9 months. But has had to play 7 games in 3 weeks. What's there not to understand?

Why don't you believe he would be leggy? Is he a machine?

He played 60 minutes or more in all but 1 so you can expect him to be dead on his feet.

How can you be so careless just outside your penalty box?
I mean you never ever do a play like that. Ever. You never assume you can get away with pushing the ball so far just outside youd penalty box. Let alone at the highest level of football and against a great pressing team. Just shocking stuff really. Boys around the age of 10 would likely act more responsibly with the ball in that position.

I'm not on about anything. I'm just disappointed in him, your excuse is just that, an excuse and it's fine but you do know it exists footballers that barely never did this kind of thing right? Xavi, Iniesta, Scholes, Carrick, Modric, Essien etc. If Pogba is Zidane playing at CDM then excuse me, but if not then let me moan when he makes a mistake that directly lead to a goal without pulling up a lot of excuses. If he is to be treated as our best player then this simply isn't good enough, fatigue or not.

Is that he only completed 2 of these games.

If he's getting tired playing this amount of games while not even completing most of them while missing most of the season actually, well it's going to be a problem come next season.
