Doing extra training. What a bad egg this guy is eh

Man I hope it all works out for him either here or elsewhere, love him as a player and a human being from what little we get to see.

How selfish of him to train by himself after the team has trained as if he deserves more time than the rest, that's the primadonna in him shining through

Am I doing it correctly top reds?

This from the guy who was calling Ole Gunnar Solskjaer pathetic a month ago.

Fascinating where fans choose to pin their loyalties.
Don't take those posts out of context. Remember the results at the time I didn't mean anything bad by it and just meant that I didn't think he was good enough. And he should probably be gone. He was also saying some really strange things at the time due to the pressure he was under.

But let's not revert history he was doing very poorly and making strange decisions.

But the up turn in results have been great. Well done by Ole. I give credit where it's due. Get CL and he would have earned to stay next season considering the start he had made it so much more difficult.

Love Ole as a player but at the time he looked out of his depth. Feelings don't come into these things for me, just called it how I thought after seeing over a year of games under him.

Now maybe the Bruno signing has shown he needed more players who can execute his ideas. In which case as long as it keeps up I'd hold my hands up and say I was wrong.

I'd much rather be wrong than right too.

Nice to see he's deemed it appropriate to start watching the team he plays for again, now that he's basically back to a point where he will have to.

Aye. Just waiting on Rashford to join in now.

So was he back in training? or is our first session tomorrow as the game was on a Sunday?

He has been back around Carrington doing some sort of training for over a week I think but he is starting back team training today I think.

It’s an interesting situation with Pogba now - with the team firing on all cylinders and the promise of some top incoming signings does Pogba see the potential and does he stay?

It’s hard to argue how with the addition of potentially Sancho and Grealish plus whoever else we sign that we aren’t on our way back to being a more dominant team so does he stick or twist!?

If he wants to leave in the summer, then be my guest. Hopefully it won't affect his morale and he can hit the ground running when he comes back. Our last 8 games are games we need creativity to break down defences and characters that can inspire a comeback if we concede. A fit and motivated Pogba could be crucial to our season.

Hope he travels with the team in the Europa and perhaps a place on the bench!

Yeah depending how he's been in training I'd probably give him 10 mins in that game, as he'll be ready for a bit of a longer stint if needed against Spurs.

It all stems from the same way of thinking. Short term gains at any expense and feck whats good for the club in the long term.

Any of us who could see what Solskjaer was trying to do, who could appreciate the difficult and thankless job he was taking on to try and reset the culture and foundations of the club got dogs abuse from those who couldn't see past the current run of form, or the darker times before the light. People just want the next quick fix and instant results.

Pogba is talented so we should let him and his agent shit on the club. Let him belittle Manchester United and just suck it up because "we aren't good enough for him". The actual state of a United fan writing something like that?

I've backed Ole since the start, it's been obvious what he's been trying to do, the only question mark being if he was setting the structure for the next manager to benefit from or if he'd be the one that could take it on a level when the team balance was in a better place.

As for Pogba, if he commits to the club I'd have no problem bringing him back in to the fold. It's like if Ronaldo had decided he wanted to stay, or much like when Rooney felt we weren't being ambitious enough. Footballers look after themselves first and foremost, in much the same way clubs do. And for one of the best midfielders in the world at the moment to be out of the CL and not competing for titles you can understand the reasons he'd want to move on.

Now if we're close to building a team to get back to the top and he sees the ambition matches his and decides 'yeah I can get behind this' then course you keep him. Because we're not going to bring in anyone with similar qualities for less than we sell him for.

Yet again though, he hasn't personally done anything.

Raiola IS a massive cnut, but he's like that with every club, it's just the type of man he is. Don't forget he started throwing chairs around the Borussia Dortmund board room when they wouldn't sell us Mkhitaryan.

Pogba hasn't publically said anything bad apart from stating he might want a new challenge - he was upset at the end of the season for being blamed.

And if he did come out and commit to the club and the project under Ole, I could feel different. But he hasn't and doesn't look like doing so.

Raiola is a dick and other agents can be to other clubs. But agitating for a move is one thing and personally attacking a legend of our club is another. Pogba letting that go was damning for me and the fact he's let it go so long without reigning his agent back in, or clarifying his position on the matter means he would need to go a long way to make amends at this stage.

It's all well and good bringing up Dortmund, but they are a renowned selling club. You might be happy for United to be seen as the same but I'm not and I never will be. I want every player at United to feel like he's playing for the greatest club in the world and anyone who feels anything less has no business being here. Pogba is a quality talent but we don't need him because we don't need any individual. One of our greatest ever sides had Carrick, Cleverley and Anderson in a midfield. Liverpool are the best side in Europe with Henderson and Wijnaldum in their midfield.

This current United need leadership, commitment, workrate and desire every bit as much as we need talent. Talent on it's own gets you nowhere.

It's not short term thinking at all. I always think what's best for us long term. Not a crime to come to a different conclusion.

I just thought based on a year of evidence that Ole wasn't what was best for us long term. I was of the opinion we should have went with the original plan of having Poch build the team. Nothing personal involved just an opinion.

And cop on about the better than us thing. It's relevant and you know it. Top players want to play for a team at the top, it's annoying for us as fans but be realistic. De Gea at his best wanted to leave for the same reason remember.

I want to believe that he must be dying to play with this team now. The team spirit is on a high, and we're on a pretty good run. He must surely see now that this team is going places. At the very least, he must be dying to play to be in full flow for the Euros this summer.

You’d think, but tbh I’m more excited at the prospect of a raring to go Rashford than Pogba. If Pogba wants to come back half arsed so be it, we have Fernandes now.

Pogba and Bruno playing together would elevate each others game.

McT/Fred---Pogba
----------Bruno

I completely agree on both counts. Rashford, Tony with Bruno behind them in this team would be something.

My statement was based on the assumption that he must want to play. Not that he's half arsed at all.

A motivated Pogba with this current team would add so much.

I know Bruno will be keen to play with someone with the vision and passing ability to find his intelligent runs consistently.

Really feel like they would compliment each other quite well instead of the zero sum belief some seem to have of thinking it's an either/or situation...

Fielding multiple quality players at the same time is a hallmark of all the best sides in the world yet so many fans seem averse to that idea somehow
It's quite sad to see the amount posters ignorant of this fact.

Look we don't know what's happened behind the scenes.

For all we know Pogba did have a go at him - did he not go on the radio the next day and backtrack massively? it seemed a very sudden change of his tone from that point.

Obviously Pogba being radio silent doesn't help and the fans would like to hear him commit publically, but maybe he doesn't feel the need to? Footballers live in their own bubble and I doubt he even hears half of the criticism or upset nature of the fans. The first time he probably heard it was at the end of last season when that fan gave him some stick and it obviously upset him.

Only Ole and the club really know the full situation, and so far ole is backing him.

I dont even think Id like Pogba if he came back and performed at a good level.

His mouthpiece Raiola has already expressed his view of us. A football-slave... on sick amounts of money. Backtracking or not, the bruise is still there, and he got the headlines he wanted for a move (no one cares about the backtracking part). Its just stupid drama with him all the fecking time. A well performing team needs focus and not this drama surrounding the team.

Really needs to open his mouth to convince me differently or sack Raiola. I dont see why we should waste our time om stupid diva-players like him who's not here in the long run anyways. We're building something here, and he's here temporarily.

Id go as far as to say that he even takes game-time from developing players like Fred/McTominay.

The solution is quite simple to me. No Raiola, no drama.

Instead find long term committed players we can count on. Liverpool's and City (and Fergie) in many cases has done just that, and look where they've achieved. There's gotta be normal acting star-players out there for us too like Aguero, Mane, Salah, Silva x2, Fernandinho, etc - it's not like we absolutely need to deal with Raiola or go for Neymar types.

(And yeah yeah Haaland's great but how long would he be here for with Raiola whispering things in his ear?)

Can't understand people wanting to sell this guy. We need a world class team like City, like Barca. This 28% possession against City is not our way of doing things- sorry. We should be able to dominate the ball at home against any team in the world and to do that, we need players of Pogba's caliber.

I don't care what his agent says but if he is willing to sign a contract and stay more years just give him what he needs and let's build a world class midfield.

He did and I'd be happy for him to leave as well. I don't want any player here thinking he's doing us a favour by being here.

It's only realistic if we allow it to be. Nobody is going to think of United as a top club if we're not thinking it ourselves.

Fernandes has come in and immediately demanded more of those around him - he's making other players better at a time when our other top class players in Pogba and Rashford aren't there.

If it's all about challenging at the top is so important to Pogba, why wasn't he doing that? Why couldn't he show that passion and leadership? Why does he need better players around him but Bruno doesn't?

We're never going to challenge for the top trophies again by buying a load of players who are only committed so long as we're winning because that's chicken before the egg stuff. You want people in your squad that recognise what it takes to win - that they aren't owed anything but must earn the right to challenge at the top.

Team sport, impossible to do it just because one or two players are good enough.

I'll never change your mind and am not trying too.

For me Pogba is a top player and a leader as shown in the France squad and in my opinion has often dragged this team to be greater than the sun of its parts too.
I Like him and think ideally him being here is best for the long term future of the club. If he goes though I won't hold a grudge as I see no reasonable reason too.

For me he has always been the best of a poor team over the course of the seasons. Great that Bruno is in and doing even better cause we need multiple players that are of that level.

Not sure where to play him, if he ever comes back tbf.

Considering what he has let his agent do, his comeback shouldnt come easy to him.

But, if he ever comes back, where should he play? As a 2man midfield? Clearly not his strongest position. And we've seen before his inability to dictate games from that position.

Would try out the diamond when he's back:

Martial-Ighalo/Greenwood/James
Bruno
Pogba Fred
Matic/McTominay
Shaw Maguire Lindelof/Bailly AWB
DDG

The obvious worry is the lack of width in that team, but Pogba and Martial like to drift out wide at time, and Bruno is capable of running and creating from anywhere it seems. On paper, could be a mint team to break smaller teams down. Hopefully that midfield wouldn't get too congested because we've seen Fred struggle when asked to occupy a smaller space.

That's the whole point though. If he is willing. Who knows because we never hear anything from him. It would be incredibly easy to win everyone over here - all he has to do is make it known that he is not seeking a move and would be prepared to discuss a new deal. Instant forgiveness.

He has absolutely said nothing about leaving or willingness though. The hate is unreal and way OTT here.
don't let the hatred towards his agent blind our ability to judge this guy.

As much talent as he has....I just don't think all the rest of the stuff is worth it with him anymore. And people on here go way overboard about his performances. He's had countless shockers for us. Way way way too many for somebody with his ability. Short memories on here.

Team is playing well and spirit is best it's been for ages. I'd make him earn his place back. No way should likes of Matic n Mctommo stand aside for him right away. Not with the whole circus we've had to endure.

Not to mention all the people who have to work overtime just so he can get fit for the Euroes. I bet Raiola even told him to turn up in a yellow car just to send a signal he is going to Dortmund.

I think what Evra said a while ago is what is true. If he feels his presence is harming the club or the staff in it he would rather go to another place but I only think that is half the truth. I think Pogba came to United to become a legend here, so when the fans boo him and disrespects him it hurts him deeply.

Would love to see this as well. In terms of shape, it would probably work best with James, as he would be most likely to drift right and provide the width. On the left side, it would be much better to have Shaw than Williams, to avoid having only right-footed players in that area.

I am really hoping we will get to see Pogba and Bruno line up in the same team a few times. Hopefully Pogba would be spurred on by having another creative force in the team and a player that can think and execute to the same level as him.

I echo your sentiments. He’s constantly used his agent as a mouthpiece. His agent would stay quiet if he intervened. But no. His brother runs his mouth. He’s never stepped and just dismissed what his people say. He’s a great player. And it would be amazing to have a dedicated Pogba at the club. But he doesn’t want to be here. He might want to stay now we’re on the up. Or maybe play some games to prove he’s for the Euros. No thanks. Get rid of this guy.

This. Fans never warmed to the man and it clearly hurts him. Somoene who likes to be lied, can't fault him for that. He is very likeable in my opinion.

People need to remember that Pogba was clearly so sick of being accused of faking an injury he filmed himself post surgery just to prove it.

That shows its in his mind cause he was High AF.

A drunk man's words is a sober man's thoughts and all that.
