Can't wait to see him back. Watching high energy plodders is fine if that's what you like. But for me, Pogba alongside Bruno is a exciting thought and I'm counting down the days to his return. Below is a vid for people who value craft, guile and skill.

Yeah I'm the same, I'm hoping things just click when he's back and everything turns out rosy.

Not the most likely outcome granted, but we could have some team if it does.

Can’t wait to see him play again. Him and Bruno playing together will be crucial in securing CL football like others have stated above. I’m a big Pogba fan and I hope he signs a new contract. We need more quality players in this team and not less.

And for all Pogba’s sins all he’s ever wanted was to play alongside quality players and a club with ambition. Why won’t he stay if we can match that?

It’s an ankle injury. All the details of which I do not have, as I’m Rozay from Hackney. His doctor and surgeon probably have more detail I’m afraid.

An ankle injury has kept him out since boxing day and he was never on a stretcher on the pitch or in training. He's played in 7 games the entire season because this injury. You don't need his doctor or surgeon to look at this with an ounce of common sense.

I think at this the damage may be done in his eyes. I want him to stay too but it just looks bleak at this point

Yes.

Unless of course, you are committed to the theory that he has pretended to be injured all season, and underwent surgery (or didn’t, perhaps) in order to maintain his cover. And that his manager has no issue at all with this charade and will simply pick him as soon as he decides (because if, of course, he has not actually been injured at all, then his ‘comeback’ will simply be when he decides he feels like playing, as opposed to when he is fit to). It will also suggest that his two previous returns from injury, against Rochdale and Watford, were also to maintain some sort of cover.

It would also beg the question, to me anyway, as to why he would start such an elaborate ruse less than 4 weeks into the season, after kicking up no fuss at all in the entire 3 month window that had just finished when he could ACTUALLY leave (he cannot leave in September, so not sure what he’s be trying to achieve).

Or he could just be injured. Like Bailly and Fosu-Mensah who have barely been fit to play 3 games all season, for example.

My conspiracy theory is that Paul was carrying this injury last year under Jose who made him play through it using injections which exasperated the injury, this all added to his dislike of Jose and our medical, staff.

Pogba was injured, came back and then opted to have surgery, on the advice of “his team” . This could have waited until the summer - most players would have played on in those circumstances but his priorities were clearly not playing for United.
He was meant to return 3/4 weeks later so either the advice was spectacularly wrong or Pogba has “taken his time” to return. Again showing his lack of commitment for United.
In the background he has his agent / brother etc slagging the club and demanding a move. (He tried to get a move to city 2 years ago)
He is a disgrace and the support he gets on here is not representative of people I know or other social media, where U see almost everyone wanting him nowhere near the team.

If you remember I think the first instance of something weird going on was in 2017 Pogba had supposedly ignored the club's advice on his hamstring rehab and gone with his own personal trainer, then he injured his hamstring quite badly which pissed off Mou. He was then out for a long spell. Now you have the misdiagnosed injury, Pogba being rushed back, exacerbating an ankle injury/a different injury and now needing surgery and a lengthy recovery. He also had hamstring and ankle injuries at Juve it's worth noting.

Well ignoring the fact he's barely been on the pitch this season, we've seen precious little genius from Pogba in 4 years. I genuinely don't get how people can compare Pogba to, well any 'star' player...as someone who has watched pretty much every game of his I'm that time, I'm continually amazed that people lump Pogba with the best players in the world.

I think the hype and media BS you talk of is the only thing that pushes Pogba into that level. "Genius levels"...absolute bollocks.
Well that's just clearly bias drivel. There's a video above showing at least 50 moments of "genius" that you're choosing to ignore.

You've got your opinion and that's fine - i'd say that's more influenced by the media than what you see on the pitch.

Its ridicolous how much better we are with Bruno while having Pogba and Rashford on the "bench"
Something is building and its great.

When the team is in dire need of midfielders.. you do what you can to help the team. I am sure if it was Rashy, Maguire, McT they would have all waited till the summer for the op.

Secondly, he started light training last week and back this week, so it will be 3/4 weeks before he even plays.

McT who got injured after Pogba and a knee injury is back playing twice a week already.

It was mentioned that Pogba was coming back and may even train with the team during the winter break, but only one did.

Also posted on Insta about the game. Cares more than most think. Just wishes we had progressed of course.

When is he back? I thought he was going to be on the bench for the city game but he wasn't.

Seems he's back in the picture and looking like he'll be back training this week.

Would be quite sweet to see him in the squad against Jose and Spurs this weekend...

Nice to see he's deemed it appropriate to start watching the team he plays for again, now that he's basically back to a point where he will have to.

Pogba rejoined us in 2016 because he saw us bringing in Mourinho and regaining our past glories. That didn't work to plan and he has considered leaving but changed circumstances of late give him an important decision to make now. The Premier League is clearly dominant in the world as evidenced by us having a monopoly on the top managers (Guardiola, Mourinho, Ancelotti at Everton!!!, Klopp) and that, last year, both the finalists in the Champions League and Europa League were Premier League teams.

In other leagues, Real Madrid and Barcelona will always have money and attraction for players but with Ronaldo having left and Messi (slowly) declining, they aren't attracting the best talent in managers and, soon, players any more. Serie A is not top-class other than Juve but they too will struggle to get the very best. Single-team leagues like Serie A, Ligue One, and the Bundesliga will not be attractive to Pogba because of the lack of competition in the league itself and because that lack of competition hinders them in knockout rounds in Europe.

United is still the Premier League's most recognised team by far. While we were struggling without an end in sight, I could imagine Pogba wanting to cut his losses and spend his best years at a title contender. However, we are now looking like a team on the up and will attract, because of the Premier League, our history, and our money, the best players in the world. If our young talents can continue to improve, we can manage to pay for some external transfers despite the Glazer skimming tax and Woodward mismanagement.

Given that, I can't think of a better team for Paul Pogba to spend his next, most productive, years in than Manchester United. As a No.8 with Bruno with a CDM and settled defence behind, he must be looking forward to supplying world-class players (not just talents anymore) like Rashford, Martial and, hopefully, Sancho with Greenwood to join in the next few years. We could continue with Grealish/Maddison but still I would prefer we continued with Pogba.

For the first time in his career, he might need his club more than his club needs him. I hope he thinks hard before making a decision.

Don't some lots of you just not find it embarrassing how you can't wait to spew vitriol at some of our players and make them out to be satanic then when they get back into action, start delivering and you lots are back quickly kissing their rears and sucking them off. That whole dynamic of acting like a bunch of twats then later post in every thread "I used to be a hater, detractor etc but X player has proven me wrong" etc is downright embarrassing to be honest. All that nonsense could be avoided if some people weren't such petty clowns at times.

Is he still sort of limping? Doesn’t look like he’s really walking normally there

Bouncing off the walls to see him and Bruno link up. Seriously. Haven’t been excited about us like this in a long time.

When is he back? I thought he was going to be on the bench for the city game but he wasn't.
The original prognosis (well, the latest one) was for him to be on our bench for the Spurs game.

Since we don't have any actual wingers, I'd love to see a diamond with him, Bruno, Fred and, I guess, Matic? We're still overly reliant on Bruno's form, as he's our only creative midfield player (Mata aside, but he's not going to influence our season much) — and we've seen how Martial's movement has improved with Bruno's arrival. Or, rather, maybe we've just seen that his movement was always not as bad as it seemed to be, because now we have someone who can spot his runs.

Pogba also should be quite motivated. Yes, Deschamps is known to be a conservative manager who trusts his experienced players, but he still needs to prove himself to secure a starting place at the Euros.

I know Bruno will be keen to play with someone with the vision and passing ability to find his intelligent runs consistently.

Really feel like they would compliment each other quite well instead of the zero sum belief some seem to have of thinking it's an either/or situation...

Fielding multiple quality players at the same time is a hallmark of all the best sides in the world yet so many fans seem averse to that idea somehow

Waiting for Pogba to comeback is like a child sat in the backseat of a car asking his parents if they're "there yet ? "

Read a perfect analogy on another site this morning.

Wanting to put Pogba back into this United side is like wanting to smear caviar on your birthday cake.

Feel it'd be more like adding the icing on top personally but I hope we'll get the chance to find out soon

Same thing with getting Rashford back into the side, the ceiling for the squad right now looks higher than it has in ages

Rashford is the icing. Pogba is just going to leave a nasty taste.

Fair enough, you don't trust or judge his character highly. However, your post doesn't differentiate between differing injuries and prognosis. Rashford played on with an injury, and that didn't work out well.

Fans get so excited about Pogba coming back, but imo we lose vs City if he played instead of Fred or Matic.

Ok? And we beat atleast 3-4 of the fodder we managed to lose too. Having both Pogba and Bruno against teams that sir deep will be invaluable. You can't deny that.

Which is why if Pogba goes we need to replace him with another creative midiflder like Grealish.

Can't go back to only having one player creating. It's madness.

So for me we need for an entire season we need either Bruno Pogba and Sancho as our 3 men to consistently create or Grealish Bruno Sancho.

Then we will break down teams that sit.

Bruno alone can't do it for an entire season, just like Pogba couldn't. It's just smart planning.

Go watch his cameo versus Watford. Until we replace him with someone who can help Bruno out and also create like he can then we need him.

It's simple as that really.
