The home leg against Sevilla last season, he came off the bench and put in a similar half arsed disgraceful performance.

It's definitely happened more than Saturday.
They genuinely coincide with him being criticised or told off.

He subbed him needlessly against palace at home at around 60 minutes when we had to score.

didn't start him against YB. Not saying it's OK, but no wonder he feels demoralised working with JM. It's difficult to fight for somebody you don't believe in.

Literally the only performance you can point to him not trying was the last one. You're exaggerating how often that happens. Not every bad performance is him not trying. He's going to have bad performances while he tries.

Exactly and I accept that but any professional footballer who has a tendancy to down tools is not good enough for Oxford United let alone Manchester United. The guy wants out and is showing it with his performances, time to get rid.

There is a pattern of Pogba misplacing passes and jogging around without a care in the world after he is dropped. I'm fully convinced he kicked a ball out of play on purpose when we were losing to Sevilla last season( he also didn't try a bit to prevent Sevilla breaking for their first goal) . How can we accept this as fans, we shouldn't. When Mourinho goes hopefully this guy follows soon after.

Oh dear. Criticised or told off. How awful for the poor young man. Enough to mentally scar him for life.
And to be substituted as well. Naughty Jose.

No wonder he feels so demoralised. I really do empathise with him.

No one should treat Mr Pogba so horribly.
Anybody would think that he was a highly paid professional footballer.

Because a lot of these fans just want new toys every transfer window, they grew up playing football manager and want their fix of new signings. Pogba is by FAR our best midfielder, we spent 80+ million on him. He was brilliant for Juventus and is often very good for France. Played in an attacking team with some real quality around him and some coaching he would be brilliant for us. He strikes me as a player who is so bored on the pitch, nobody around him berates him when he is having a bad game, he has some of the sloppiest footballers around him and even when he does play well he has a manager who will gush praise towards players like Fellaini over him.

Anyone seen how well coached Sterling has been? If Guardiola had Pogba he would be a different player.

Sterling is not really been coached, what Pep is doing, is telling him, where to be when the ball gets in and around the box, hence the reason why Sterling struggles for England

The idea that Pogba won the world cup, playing scintillating, couldn't be further from the truth, he was average for three games, and slghtly better for the remaining games, furthermore France did not play attacking football, rather they sat back and hit teams on the break.

Also Juve under Conte, were not an attacking outfit neither, Pogba was just as frustating playing for Juve, if Pogba is bored on the pitch then he needs to take a look inside himself, regardless of the transfer fee, that hangs over his head, a perfect example is Rashford over the weekend, who really put in a shift, even though against Young Boys, he was making the wrong decisions.

What Pogba done on Saturday, was totally unacceptable, he done the same the week before, he is not doing the basics, people like to put the boot in on Matic, but Matic has played alot of football over the last year, just came back fron an injury, and will come back stronger, if he is given a few weeks rest.

Jose has in the past backed Pogba to the hilt, when pundits were repeatably attacking him, Jose changed his ideal formation 4-2-3-1, for 4-3-3, to satisfy Pogba, gave him the captaincy as an olive branch.

I get the impression he only wants to impress on the big stage and thinks he's above anything else. Even in a quality side he'd have to play smaller teams.

Can anyone think of any central midfielder, from any team ever, who plays football the way that Pogba does? I honestly can’t.

Watching André Gomes for Everton yesterday was so depressing. A young, skilful central midfielder who understands what’s needed to play that position. Always in the right place, always making the right decision. Playing the right pass at the right time. It’s a position where the very best players consistently do the simple things well. Not a position for show-boaters or someone who struggles to stay focused on what’s going on around him.

Pogba just doesn’t play the game like any CM I can think of. And that is surely a big fecking problem? Or am I missing something? Can anyone else name a world class CM - from the present or past - that Pogba is close to emulating?

The player that always comes to mind for me is Gerrard. He had the same level of self defeating narcissism to his play that ultimately caused him to be played everywhere but as a CM. But to give credit to Gerrard, he always worked hard and dug in when his team was struggling and won them a lot of points.

Pogba excels when players around him move and create space. He's not best being your typical disciplined midfielder who'll work to a set system. He'll give you some magic and create a pass or a goal. He needs to be set free from a technical, and tactical noose.

He is also suffering from United's present predicament where we only have a couple of players who make runs (Rashford, Lingard). He is also playing in midfield with Fellaini who is all over the place, slow, technically and tactically bankrupt. I'm never sure which position he employs. Matic has also lost form and confidence. He's a shadow of a player in his first season at United. Fellaini and Matic are offering absolutely nothing creatively or, are any better at shielding the defence.

Pogba was wonderfully gifted as a kid and never caused any issues. He also excelled at Juventus and is highly respected by his national team. He needs a happy environment to play. I would say a run of games with players such as Pereira and Fred beside him in midfield would see an upturn in both results and Pogba's form.

I'm not sure anyone can judge Pogba with Mourinho at the club who's created not only a toxic environment but tactically it seems he'll do anything to protect and play his few favourites at the expense of the team and club.

Memphis was labelled lazy, arrogant, pub league player etc in his short spell here but away from the United environment he's excelled . Lyon play much much better football than us it's not even a joke . There's something rotten at the club and I don't believe it's the players . The football we are being made to watch is not acceptable for big team and is affecting some players morale

Ironically, André Gomes with Barcelona is the player that you are looking for.

I think we urgently need to resell him to Juve, if they offer us the same money as minimum offer.

Confidence have been broken between him and the fans, lot's of things happened, like his "famous" post match comments .

Both fans and Pogba are tired with each other, like a broken marriage. I think divorce will be good for both parts.

We need to limit his game. Whether his form is down to attitude or motivation, his current role is too unpredictable.

When he is allowed to carry the ball forward, he attempts too many risky dribbles. When he is allowed to attack the final third, he leaves behind space which his teammates do not know how to protect.

As absurd as it sounds, we need him to do less until he becomes more consistent.

He still has range in his passing, and it's one of his less vulnerable skills. Perhaps he can sit in front of the defence, with a primary job of playing direct, ambitious passes as soon as we win possession, and a secondary job of providing a bit more dynamic defensive cover than Matic.

Protect him with two mobile players ahead and we'd actually have a relatively balanced midfield.

Sad to say, but his game-mentality and attitude in the last couple of games, has really dropped. He needs to pick this up again, because he isn't helping anybody, and it is such a shame. he also is not (as no player is not...) good enough to just switch off for a few games, then start again when he feels ok. Look at Hazard.. he lost his way under Mourinho at Chelsea, and he basically lost a season. I worry this may be the same with Paul.

However.... this is clearly, clearly, simply representing a more worrying issue, and that is the clear gap between players and manager... we're all over the place.

None of our players look happy, none of them.

And that is not Paul Pogba's fault.

Any surprise we went to sh*t when he came on? Or Matic had his best game all year without him? Maybe Pogba is the bigger problem not Matic. Maybe Matic needs some one decent next to him to let him play a bit

Shite once again, barely touched the ball. Hard to say he's playing for the manager really.

Matic was terrible once again.

The midfield absolutely pressed the feck out of Arsenal but as soon as he came on we went back to being shit. Herrara-Matic for the next couple of games plz. The cancerous presence can leave as he wish.

A manager should be looking to get the best out of his players, not drop them to prove a point. There is no way Pogba is inferior to any of the midfielders we had out there tonight, but instead of trying to build around him, he's decided to make the rift public and then get the fans on his back.

He was Man of the match.

Probably man of his match, considering he is playing his own game every game, slowing everything down, dwelling on the ball, not properly marking players, etc.

Yeah nothing to do with replacing Martial with Lukaku and also bringing in FellainI and subbing out Lingard. Replaced all the players who worked their socks off with giants and then blame Pogba.

Herrera had a good game today. He doesn't need the team built around him to put in a good shift.

Pogba was rubbish last week and absolutely deserved to be dropped

Wtf were you watching? Matic was awful!

totally agree. It wasnt the fact fellaini and lukaku were brought on at all. It was Pogba and only Pogba that didnt contribute to a press (sarcasm).

Mate stop believing everything you read from a clueless manager that knows his time is up.

That's the problem, though, isn't it? We all know how talented he is but he so seldomly plays like it. He deserved to be dropped after his last game, and he did nothing to win back his place today.

Ah yeah cause that's what we want, to get the best out of Matic

He was playing left wing and was never going to make a thread when you have Fellaini, Herrera or Matic who will never play an incisive pass to front three.

It was silly, we should of had an winger or a player with pace come on but Chong is too young for Mourinho.
