Need some help here settling an argument with a friend. He thinks that Riaola's agent fees were included in the transfer fee, meaning we paid 69M plus 20M to get to the 89 for Pogba's transfer. This is completely false isn't it? I thought the fee is 89M with the agent's fee paid separate and I also thought Juventus agreed to pay it (or some of it?)

We paid juve 105m but they had a gain of only 72.2m due to deduction in

25m to raiola
5m for pogba's house
2m to French clubs where Pogba played
0.8m paid to us in 2012 for Pogba.

Raiola didn't receive 25m and there is the taxes in it too.

I think you pay taxes on the net consideration which is total consideration minus the expenses?

Anyway I was going by the reports from Italy.

GdS has a similar report too

And they don't know, they just added two and two together. Basically they used the official statement and decided that the rest of the money was for Raiola, despite the fact that GdS initially said that the agreement included Pogba and that the sharing was unknown.

Blaming the tactics and manager needs to stop. In the City game, he made many mistakes that he could not have and it was mostly down to him. A new player to the premier league (or any new league) will naturally struggle a bit.

In time he will fit in I'm sure and then some people say "hah! told you guys he was the man when you wrote him off!", even though I don't think anyone is writing him off. He's had some poor games but he will get over it.

He plays well and he's world class. He doesn't have a good game which happens in football and he's shite and overrated. There's no modest level of judgement for a player on caf. It's always extreme.

I think he's looked the most likely to make something happen. He's just starved of the ball.

Play 442 diamond with Zlatan-Rashford forwards, Rooney AM, Pogba on the left and two others.

Starting to think that it's not just him.

I love Jose but this team is so poorly setup that no one is looking good out there.

That's what I said in the game thread. So many people are in all the players threads, fueling their agendas, but fail to see that as a team we are severely underperforming, which will always make the players look bad.

Scholes called it right before the game. Don't think it will ever look right until there's a Pirlo (Carrick or Blind) playing behind him and a specialist midfielder beside him. Which was Marchisio at Juve, but could be Herrera here or an on-form Fellaini (not ideal).

Absolutely zero off the ball movement not helping whatsoever.

The state of us, christ.

Looked to be the only one out there who's capable of conjuring up something. No players making runs has been a problem even in the last few seasons under Fergie. But then we had a lot of drive, and some match winners in the team.

Sums up everything wrong with the club at the minute when we spent £90m on a player and have no idea where we should be playing him, what he's supposed to be doing, and no idea how to get the best out of him.

He's taken care of his own performance which puts him ahead of everybody else in the United team.

He's basically playing as a defensive midfielder, so that Rooney can balls everything up. Its a nonsense.

He cost too much and it is illogical that we are not playing to his strength. The shot he had that hit the bar showed what he is capable of despite being relatively poor.

Relative to what, lee Cattermole? he has been very poor.

As expected, Pogba lacks defensive awareness. Shaw showed inside to the Watford player, Pogba didn't close. They get in the box, pull it back, no cover, they score. Just not made for a midfield two.

Was never worth 89 million for a start. They will be laughing at us for a while because of that.

Stop playing the guy as a DM, is that so fecking hard for Mourinho?

He's not able to influence games. The balls lands at his feet and he's immediately got two players breathing down his neck and we stand like statues and he's forced to make a short pass backwards or concede possession.
