A poor game today, shit happens. Was hoping to see him score a thunderbolt, but alas.

What about the new Edwards and the Argentinian Baresi. The ones who kept the magnificent world class goal machine Rondon out of the match? Couldn't they mark Lovren? If a 6ft5 striker who played in Spain, Italy and France found Lovren tough to mark then what are the chances for a young 23 year old 6ft3 attacking midfielder to do that?
Rojo had a big man as well. Jones isn't tall at all.

Dreadful today, I think he feels the pressure to do something spectacular every time he gets the ball. Similar to how he was at the start of the season. When he eventually settled down he was all the better for keeping it simpler. Back into bad habits today.

That being said, never forget he is 23 and still has 3/4 years before you would expect him to be in his prime

Seemed over-awed by the occasion today. Way too charged up and not properly wired mentally. To be fair, most of the team were the same. No composure at all.

Really shocking performance from Pogba today. From an individual perspective, this would be particularly damaging. If he had played today as he has been playing for he past 3 months, people would have finally started to get it. The fact is, many non-reds only really watch him in games like this, and he picked today to have his worst performance for us.

You are allowed to complain, Pogba had a poor game. But complaining about his hair does detract from any legitimate point you might have. It makes it sound as if you have been bidding your time, waiting for the poor performance. It makes it look as if you have an agenda, particularly when your let others like Rooney off the hook because they delivered for us years ago.

No, I am not complaining about his hair. I am complaining that he wasn't mentally prepared for an important game. The hair, the shoes, the ads ... were the distractions that I saw. I have no idea what else the guy did (or didn't do), so I can't say anything else about the distractions... but it was obvious that he wasn't mentally prepared for this game. That's why he made so many mistakes.

I have no agenda. I am just a simple fan and I am really upset today. If we had won, we be among the top-4 and we'd have unstoppable momentum. Now???....

Very poor performance. Liverpool players did surround him a lot though which made it congested and difficult for him to perform.

He has a strong mentality but he didn't show it today on the big stage. He will learn from this though and I'm sure Jose will have a word with him regarding this.

Also he needs to cut out that head-lock nonsense. That's twice this season he has done it, the first time against Allen and today v Henderson.

Pogba's performance was so bad that you'd have to feel sorry for him.

Certainly the attempted header that lead to the penalty was Sunday morning pub team standard.
Throughout the game he routinely gave the ball away.

I gave him a 1 in the player ratings today because I honestly believe that's as bad as it gets for Paul Pogba. I can say with full confidence that I don't think we'll ever see him play as poorly as he did today in the entirety of his United career.

Did he ever put out these types of performances for Juve? I remember how good he was against Bayern. He can do it against the top clubs he just has to put less pressure on himself.

He got 5 from me today.

I was expecting lot of kneejerking here and I wasn't wrong.

Guys like @Alex Styles and the rest of the bunch.

Occasion got to him, he wanted to prove himself and do everything by himself but was really poor.

Dreadful, god knows why he was left on the field.

Offers zero in the tackle and constantly surrendered possession needlessly holding on to the ball.

How distracting do you reckon is doing his hair, shoes and ads? To me it seems like a nice way to unwind. I really can't see how those things could be a major distraction, especially not for a guy like Pogba who has done it all his career. If Carrick suddenly started colouring his hair cyan, then sure questions should be asked about a mid life crisis. But Pogba dyeing his hair? Come on, it comes across as judgemental on your part.

Le Pog was disappointing in this game, yet he was still the best player in either team's CM. Says a lot about the expectations he faces and also how good we know he is. Still got the return legs vs Chelsea, Citeh, Arse and Spurs plus the Europa League games. C'mon Paul, show us what you're made of!

Dunno what game you were watching to think he was the best CM out there.

What an utterly bizarre thing to say.

Complete horror show today, nothing went right for him. I really don't know how and why he struggled to man mark Lovren. I bet he wished the #pogba wasn't all over the advertising boards today.

Part of me feels that he should be dropped after that performance. It would be extremely harsh admittedly considering he's been pretty good, but Fellaini offers more defensively and probably wouldn't have conceded a penalty in Pogba's position. It would be a kick up the behind for him, and a chance to shade him from attention for a couple of games.

On the other hand, we have now a 'favourable' run, and given Pogba's performances against the lesser teams it would suit us well to play him and build his confidence.

Was shocking today.

His bad habit of sometimes holding on to the ball too long was present today vs the worst possible opponent.

Just looked out of sorts the entire game. I am confident he'll bounce back. And I'm sure it's only a matter of time before he has a good showing in a big game for us.

Overreaction. Yes, he was awful but it happens. The occasion got to his head, the whole Twitter emoji didn't help. Too much pressure and it took away focus.

Pogba is on his best when he keeps his game simple, just tried too much today. Seems he lost his head a bit after he missed that chance and it went downhill after that.

Needs to better in the next big game, because he's a key player for us and we need him on his best.

He will hopefully learn from this. Needs to keep things simple but not worried. Everyone has a shit game. Felt he went into his shell even more after conceding that penalty. He'll be fine. He's got good people around him in the dressing room. Just needs to carry on and cut out daft mistakes.

Elephant is still well and truly in the room as far as I'm concerned. A few galactico performances against Fodder United doesn't prove anything when you're signed for a world record fee.

Posters asking if Keane, Messi or Ronaldo never had a bad game are missing the point: they had all proven themselves at big clubs in massive matches to warrant such latitude.

Pogba may be a prodigious talent but he has proven nothing at United that is not expected so far. In my opinion he is still way short on where he needs to be and has a habit of doing disastrous things in big games (he was equally atrocious in the mauling vs City).

Of course I'm desperate for him to do well, to claim him as my talisman and inspire the next title back to Old Trafford: criticism does not mean I'm not desperate to be a fan.

But even if I disregard the fee he was signed for (don't see why I should and he is an exceptional case), his performance today simply as a top team midfield general was shocking.

His defending at corners were as comical as Bebe's passing range on his debut, his finishing was pathetic and his temperament was very worrying. I can't find one redeeming feature on his game today. At least he tried in the first half, in the second he literally hid because he was so scared he'd make mistakes (he did with that idiotic back heel which gave Liverpool easy possession).

Let's see how he man's up after this debacle... Alot of very smart people have backed him. I really hope he is not a dud.

He was all levels of shiteness today. Bit worried about his performances in big games to be honest. Seems like he tries to hard and loses his cool.

Oh feck off here we go again with this shit. I bet in the next 4 games everyone will be fawning over him saying he's the best midfielder in the world then once he has one bad game everyone will latch onto him.

We don't deserve him if the majority of our fans think he's a fraud or even worse want him sold.

Like Sir Alex said that time: "On you go. I'm no f-cking talking to you. He's a f-cking great player. Yous are f-cking idiots."

That's how I feel reading anyone shitting on Pogba.

Players like Pogba (regardless of the price tags) are meant to be match winners and take the massive games by the balls. One of our worse players today, against a weakened Pool side.

It's ridiculous, one bad game and he's fraud.

Let's forget all the other good games he has had recently.

Yes I was
You said all those players have proven themselves in big games. Pogba is 23, I guess he still has time to prove himself or he's a little elephant in the room and a dud and we should sell him or we shouldn't have bought him.

It's really lame for you to come up with that elephant stuff after one bad game. But people are like that I guess..

Fergie also had a few words about Pogba himself, didn't he?

And an opinion on him as a player...

Do you remember them?
