The reactions are disgraceful once again. Yes he had a bad game, doesn't transform him into a fraud. He's been terrific over the last 6-7 games, shouldn't be ignored now all of a sudden. He should cut out this new haircut promotion shite though. Concentrate on the game and training and put his head down the next time.

So he had a bad game, we still drew, its not the end of the world FFS. He will learn from this.

It wasn't just a game. It was Liverpool. City lost. We had a great opportunity to get near the top-4. It wasn't "just a game", it was a very important game, it was a defining game for this year. And the stupid shit lost the game for us...

If he was playing like the past several weeks we'd have won. The others carried him today

He can't play like he has the past several weeks as that was against poor opposition and this was against a good team where Pogba always gets found out.

Head went after conceding the pen, it played on his mind as he had a chance to put us in lead but instead conceded a penalty. I thought Jose will sort him out at HT but that 2nd half performance was even worse, left Herrera on his own vs their midfield 3.

Incredible bottle job lol.

BUT, that's forgivable. The team's form probably made him too complacent and he expected us to dominate the game but Liverpool's pressing took him by surprise.

It games like these that will shape him. I've said it enough times but Mourinho needs to change his game plan a bit more.

We're neither ultra defensive or ultra attacking and no we're not 'balanced' atm. We're not here or there as we don't press/close when we need to off the ball and thus we can't show our qualities on the ball because we're always chasing.

Had a shocker. Cost us in the end with decisive mistakes at both ends of the pitch. But these things can happen, can't dwell on it too much and move on.

wtf.. what happens with him today? his performance was really really terrible. he should play the ball more cleverly and not force himself to beat liverfool players each time he got the ball. damn, changing hairstyle doesnt make him better. hopefully today's experience will make him better player for us.

The mistake was one thing, but the way he went to pieces was terrible. I thought he was positionally all at sea in the second half, and Liverpool could easily have got the second on a break. He's a liability in a two man midfield.

Heh. I knew someone would bring up that old chesnut. He was just as bad in the first half. If anything, even worse.

It's true that pogba was poor today but the over exaggeration is staggering. granted, things get heated in the match day thread but it's still hilarious to see people saying he's not good enough, overrated, flat track bully etc. after a bad game. even world class players like ronaldo have their off days, not that I'm using that to excuse his "performance" today.

I don't think he expected that kind of pressing from liverpool, so the result was he looked like a deer caught in the headlights. let's hope he learns from this as he continues to mature as a player and put this behind him.

Until he learns to do the simple things he won't perform against big teams. He hogs the ball way too much, that's okay if you're playing against small teams where only one or at most two players will press you. The Big teams will have three or four players on you in a flash and you will lose the ball more times than not.

Needs to release the ball quickly. Positive here is that he's 23 and still has time to learn.

£90 million, and he fails his first real test spectacularly.

If he scores that sitter, we win the game. It's as simple as that.

Needs to focus more on his game and tailoring it to the opponents than trying to receive the ball in tough situations, shrugging off 3 players and pinging hollywood balls to the wing. Today was all about playing the quick pass, and Pogba wasn't the player for this occasion.

Worst player on the pitch. I don't know if I even should give him 1/10, 1/10 seems too nice. I know he will learn from this and be even better next game but today very very disappointed.

But it wasn't just that. Twice he lost the ball in midfield because he was trying to do a fancy trick.... setting them in position for a goal... and not only that, the stupid shit did not try to help the defense he just stood there complaining to the ref!!! Unbelievable!
I agree with you. In all of those instances he was supposed to make the "simplest" play.

He has bags of technique and physique but his shoddy decision-making really cost us. Often times, he tried to dribble 2-3 players when their was no way out and a simple short pass forward was a better option. He'll grow as he finds his feet in this regard.

He can't play like he has the past several weeks as that was against poor opposition and this was against a good team where Pogba always gets found out.
Very harsh. Against the top teams so far, he hasn't shown much to suggest he's a big game player. But, you are going overboard here. He just needs to make good decisions on the pitch.

The game ended 1-1 though?

Ferguson was right about him. Not good enough. Should only be used against lower table teams.

Heh. I knew someone would bring up that old chesnut. He was just as bad in the first half. If anything, even worse.

He definitely steadied the ship in the second half, but there's a serious tendency for the game to pass him by when the opposition has the ball, something that gets exposed even more when he's supposed to be playing deeper. You can't deny that his best form has come playing that high left central midfield position with Carrick and Herrera backing him up. Didn't help that Carrick was seriously off colour today either. Kinda showed the importance of lining up a replacement / alternative for him.

Look, he's clearly a great player in the making, but he was terrible today, and I don't think we're going to get consistently strong form from him playing that deep and in a two.

Pog has a sublime technique, but he needs to make decisions a bit faster. If I was to bet my life on a spectacular pass, I'd pick Pog; if on an accurate one, it would be Mata.

Did he? Seemed to get bullied and lost the ball as hell of a lot in the second half.

Embarrassing performance, really. Had he performed anywhere near what you'd expect from him, we would probably have won the game, but he completely crumbled under pressure today.

Hope he turns up against City. We can't afford to carry him in games against the other top six sides if we're going to have any hope of finishing among the top four. Those are the games we need him at his absolutely best.

Until then, all he can do is revert back to himself and help us absolutely shatter the next four opponents in the league.

He always holds onto the ball for ages and against a team like Liverpool that press in numbers thats stupidly dangerous. His timing was off and was a liability. Still not too worried though, he's excellent in the main but its worrying when a team press him.

Definitely a learning experience.

It is a learning experience only for those who still think he is the best in the world or something, because he does a couple of fancy tricks against lowly teams. He is 23 and has been playing professional football for 5 years. If he hasn't figured yet that a home game vs Liverpool is very important and serious game, then he is too stupid to ever learn.

Honestly that 1st half was really bad and it was like his head was working overtime. He needed to chill and play like he can do.

It's amazing how bad he is in big games compared to his beastly performances against everyone else. Let's hope he puts in his standard performance against the lower teams against Stoke.

The more I watch him, the more I'm worried. His positioning sense is terrible. He always looks clueless around the pitch.

Just as I thought, we need a great midfield to carry him, as he doesn't understand what to do in it. He's good when he wanders around and occasionally makes a great pass or a great shot at goal.

In other words - a luxury player if I ever saw one.
