i still think he's finding his feet in the league / squad etc. A couple of players bought to build a team around / with him in mind and next year I think we'll be seeing the player capable of challenging for the best player in the world...helps if you're in the Cl of course :nervous:

He was alright, he has been in good form recently, I think this was just a normal performance from him, nowhere near his best, still a seven.

He can score every game. So easily. Strange he hasnt really been scoring much. But those goals will come.
He is playing better every game. Amazing talent. Amazing player.

Yep, the way I see it, it's only a matter of time before he's scoring goals regularly.

I would say a 6. Defensively did very well, things didn't work for him today going forward but he should have still grabbed a goal.

The man's a powerhouse. Dominated the game at West Ham on a day when the shirts were really not quite "at the races". He's so fecking strong on the ball and his feet so fast!
I don't think we've even seen jim at his best yet and it's scary to think how good he will make us over the next ten years. Looked pleased when Rashford & Mata came on and rightly so. Should've scored at least once today but there will be days when he gets a hat-full. Soon to be skipper.

Don't really know how to explain this, but Pogba seems to be very good at looking/feigning to be off balance with the ball seemingly too far in front of him. Seems to be intentional to trig a challenge from the one pressing him, only for Pogba to 'regain' his balance and break away.

I realize this is driblling ABC but he has a peculiar way of doing it. Often while standing still.

He lets the ball sit right on the edge of his range of control a lot of the time to achieve this. It's the reason he's able to cleanly beat a man from a standing start - it's really the only way to do it other than a really well-executed feign-trick (an elastico, Ronnie style standing stepovers, Neymar-style standing shoulder drops). Nani used to do the same thing.

I didn't feel today was him near his best, especially in the first half as the centre of the pitch became too congested, leaving pretty much no space for him to drive forward with the ball. Better in the second half though, and he's a ridiculous player.

Again the statistically best player on the pitch, according to WhoScored. Don't doubt that the resident Spurs-supporters will hang around other threads criticising his impact after checking the goals and assists stats to form an opinion, because they didn't watch the game.

I've said it a few times already, and I'll say it again: There's not a single player I'd swap him for. He's simply too good, and has too unique of a skill set.

You shouldn't be allowed to be that skilled whilst also being a 6'5" tank.

Pogba is 6'3". Ibrahimovic is 6'5". But I agree generally, he has the greatest mix of physicality and technical ability in football.

Yeah, that's it. You phrased it better.

He will be a better player than Scholes. I keep reading 'like Scholes', but he has much more to his game.

If and whe he finds that new level of consistency and can iron out a couple of chinks, we are definitely talking a different level of talent. In addition to being an excellent passer and shooter, his ability to beat a man in the middle of the park is what will set him apart from Scholes, in addition to his physical attributes. Beating one or two men adds a different dimension to the entire team, and Scholes was never really a dribbler.

He is so good at getting out of tricky situations. Always has a trick up his sleeve to keep hold of the ball even when surrounded by multiple opposition players.

I saw today's game @Rado_N. Thought it was exactly the type of performance from him that prompted my original gripes. He can be an incredibly frustrating and brilliant player in equal measure.

Everyone was frustrating for the majority of the game, which is to be expected at the end of the Christmas fixtures, but he still had moments of brilliance and his quality always shines through.

He can give the ball away a awful lot for a player of his stature

He's had better games for us but he still did fine today. Pogba's played a lot of football lately and I would like to see him rested this weekend. There's no point in him playing against Reading when we have a semi-final midweek and then the big game against Liverpool coming up.

Did you see both him and Herrera today? That is fatigue, they were operating at 60% capacity.

Pogba at 60% still manages to stand out though, and I hope we rest him in the cup so he can come back fresh for the Liverpool match and take on his rival for the crown as the best CM in the league, the mighty Hendo la'.

That's such a huge game now. Can't wait.

He seems to ping the ball out at least once a game now and it always lands on the players feet. And its not a floated pass to a player, its in behind the defence, which is the perfect ball to push you forward and in behind. And he makes it look so easy.

Agreed, should get some rest now and get some minutes before the Liverpool game to essentially keep him going but freshen him up.

Wonderful skill but I think he gave the ball away by overdoing it right after.

All in all a very good performance by playing Pogba. He's a delight to watch.

He should improve his finishing though.

I'm pretty sure he was fouled just after it. He does overplay a bit at times, kinda goes with the type of player he is though I guess.

I'm not sure it's fair to criticise his finishing, since he could've had 4-5 goals more with a bit of luck. But if he is able to improve a little bit when he gets shooting opportunities around 18-20 yards, he will become an absolute monster.

Like the one Rashford set-up today. I have a feeling he'll score more of those as he progress further as a player.

Despite that, he really owns the midfield. I think it makes it easier to play for our other CM's as well, since he often pulls two or even three defending players with him.

It's not strength and technique. The agility is quite incredible. Vieria and Toure at their prime ain't as elegant. Pogba as people compare to Zidane has that beautiful special body movement.

Today he established himself as stamina freak, different category to anyone else. He is playing every game from start to finish and in this 2 games in 3days fixture, he is still very lively at the very end

His defensive work last night was very good, he is excellent at all facets of the game!

Just came in to post this myself. I also do not remember it from the game. I just love how under LvG that would have gone backwards in order to achieve "maximum ball retention likelihood". (LvG didn't use that term but you know he'd love it.) The easy thing would have been to play it back down the line and reset and that's the big difference I am loving this season, we seem to want to get on the front foot at all times and Pogba is so tidy and attack-minded with the ball it happens so much more often.

Immense again. Little concerned about burn out. I know he is a physical specimen, but the guy needs a rest.

Been incredible over the xmas period.

Wondering how he'll develop over the next few years.. Could we be talking about a 20 goal midfielder soon? Especially if he's on pens and free-kicks.

He literally could score every match - when he's on a roll he will be banging in 15-20 goals a year. Incredible player.

I'm calling it now, he is the new Zidane with better passing.

How come? With Juve he managed 10 a season in all competitions his last couple of seasons in a much weaker league.

He's already scored 6 here.

If you just watch lots of Pogba videos you see lots of crazy goals and imagine he does it every week.

Whenever he gets the ball, I haven't felt that same twinge of excitement since Ronaldo. A class above the others.
