He just has everything, driving runs that combine power, pace, agility and technique, strength under pressure, I don't think got disposed once when protecting the ball, he just found a way out and found a pass, and showed good defensive work with some important interceptions. My favorite moment was when he won the ball on the halfway line and from a position on the floor he wriggled up and exploded forward from the ground.

He's a complete and utter Rolls Royce of a CM and a pretty unique one, when people talked about buying two for the same price I think they undervalue just how unusual it is to find a CM with such a complete skill set.
The two bought instead of him probably wouldn't be able to do everything he can between them, ffs.

Stupidly happy about that performance. Don't watch Serie A and the Euros had me worried that the future superstar I got so excited about as a teen might have feet of clay. Feck me, though, he was excellent. Looked like a man against boys at times. Colour me happy :D

Some of his moves and touches were just brilliant. 89m well spent, no doubt. Cant wait to see more of him

In his interview with Sky Sports Mourinho conmented that Pogba will get the chance to play in a "more attacking role."

Switch to 433? Pogba at no.10?

Superb performance. Definitely more Viera than Keane in the way he plays. His first touch was a shocker but from that point on he hardly put a foot wrong and no doubt about it he will get goals.

Considering the lack of pre-season, familiarity with team-mates and pressure on him, it was a really exciting debut.

I've said it to a few people, but it surprised me that there didn't seem much hype about him on the field as most stories centered around the fee, agent, haircuts, 'celeb' crap etc...it's not going to be long before that's all forgotten.

Love him, played great. Can't imagine a performance like that from anyone in a LVG side.

I would also just like to mention his pre-game attitude with the mascot.

Many believed him to be quite an arrogant guy and with this being the debut of the most expensive player ever, many may have expected the walking out of the tunnel to have been all about him. However, he made it all about the young lad and really seemed to show his true self.

I'm probably reading way too much into it, but this act coupled with his Henry interview really puts his true personality into perspective IMO.

His stats are amazing. 8/12 takeons. A decade or more since we had a CM capable of that. Probably a lot longer.
He was better than anyone in ball recoveries, take-ons, chances created and interceptions.

He can pretty much do anything.

What I really like is the team spirit on display. Less than a week and he already has a handshake with Baily, banter with Zlatan and of course friends with Memphis and Lingard.

But obviously, really good performance and he just looked comfy. Its so nice to have a midfielder who can pass with both feet, can run with the ball and can cover all blades off the pitch when needed. Oh and not afraid to shoot either.

The camera was on him from the tunnel until they were out on the pitch, and it quite simply looked as if it was a mesmerizing experience for him. He was absolutely beaming, hugging the mascot and just generally being overjoyed. Was a great thing to see, really got the impression that this meant a lot for him.

It feels like he's basically impossible to get the ball off.
I don't think anyone did actually get the ball off him did they?. He was like that for juve as well but some people thought he wouldn't be able to keep the ball like that in this league.
I have said this a couple of times since he's been at Juve but some of his play reminds me of Zidane.

Yeah this sums it up for me also. I don't plan on getting too carried away quite yet and I'm sure he'll have tougher tests against stronger midfields but, if I was watching him play for City or Chelski, I'd be concerned and gutted we hadn't snapped him up.

His class is evident but I wasn't expecting such a confident performance. It's like he's been training for much longer than a couple weeks.

My cousin is city fan, he is always berating us but today he admitted he was jealous city missed out in Pogba

He has everything in his locker absolute world beater and a Rolls Royce of a midfielder. Glids by players at will, has a great eye for a pass, breaks play up and his presence on the pitch is something else he's a bloody unit.

If I saw a CM having a debut like that for one of our rivals I would be bricking it.
I had a look at Rawks match thread and apart from the start when Pogba did that miss kick, Pogba wasn't mentioned AT ALL in the rest of their match thread, not once more lol. That tells you what they thought about him.:D

Interesting note that I haven't seen anybody comment on -

Mourinho said that Pogba, Rooney and Ibrahimovic are our 3 penalty takers. Pogba and Rooney supposedly told Zlatan that he can be the first choice, and they will be the two 'backups'.

Can Pogba take penalties?

This. If I reimagine some of those touches and moves of his tonight but in a sky blue shirt for city I'd be absolutely terrified and livid. Really was not expecting that level of performance on his debut. As others have said, he's probably not even 100% fit or match sharp yet. Scary indeed.

RAWK and Bluemoon's thoughts on Pogba summed up in one word?

"... feck."

I was fully prepared for an anticlimax... Convinced that his uber-hyped, super sonic, maxiglobalmega debut, fresh off the back of no training, would prove predictably British and underwhelming...

But stone me, if he wasn't a crazy mad cartoon super bastard. We're (probably) the absolute tits again!

He scores them fairly regularly, but I've seen him faff about with his run-up and get booked for it a few times. He blatantly did an illegal fake shot on one when he played for us in the Youth Cup, at least. I think the referee booked him after he scored one for Juve at the start of last season too.

Amazing debut for us tonight, still can't believe how good he is.
We got very lucky that we were able to acquire a player who is the closest thing to the new zidane
