That was a simply magnificent performance from a player in his 2nnd debut and with no pre season, bodes well for the coming months.

The posts on this thread have really lit me up, just so so happy for the first time in a very long time.

Effortlessly glides past players as if they were not there.

A beast physically and technically excellent.

They cry like little girls and blame the player for being greedy and disrespectful... that's what Juve has become.

In the end, Serie A teams (even Juve) cannot pay the wages that an elite player expects and the left as a result. That was the bottom line.

Bribing a few refs should do the trick

We still hate them that much for taking him away, dont' we :lol:

I was stunned at the amount of times he successfully went past his marker, it's incredible to have a player like that in the squad. His post match interview with Zlatan was great too :D

He covered a lot of ground tonight, heatmap:

Some other stats:

83% pass accuracy - 59 completed passes (2 key passes)
8 dribbles won
2 aerials won
1 tackle won
1 clearance
5 interceptions

I think we can all agree none of us expected a debut that good, he's sublime!

It's just so easy for him. He'd wriggle out of a straitjacket in 5 seconds flat.

He and Fellaini are so body-strong on the ball it is perfect. There are going to be a lot of quick transition counter attacks that start from the middle third with these two playing in midfield.

Good performance but I'll be honest, Pogba can do better.

He's not yet 100% fit or sharp, this is probably Pogbas lowest level today, he's going to be a staple in the United side, good times ahead.

Why didn't France play him in this kind of role? He needs to have a certain freedom to show his abilities.

The whole team can, and will do better. This is a half fit team with a new manager, new key players and a new system on a busted flush of a preseason.

Mostly because Deschamps is a feckwit. Got to the final in spite of him really, most players were misused.

Love this.

Not only does this and the handshake between Pogba and Bailly show a growing togetherness in the squad and that the new signings are quickly bedding in and developing friendships. It shows Zlatan's relentless drive for perfection. Even when the game is as good as won, he wants to add to the scoreline and score goals. It's no coincidence that he has as many trophies as he has.

Got stick from Shaw for his first touch  good to see that he isnt some aloof superstar and is gelling quickly - the Bailly handshake also showed this

He is an absolute superbeast. This team is light years ahead of last year, at least in terms of watchability.

If I saw a CM having a debut like that for one of our rivals I would be bricking it.

Sure he could have had a better debut if he offered a goal or assists, but I really enjoyed everything he did today. Most of all, the ball just seems to stick to him. And he got involved in the action all over the pitch. Exciting times ahead based on that performance.

Not 100% sharp and he bossed it. Along with Fellaini, Zlatan, Valencia, Shaw, Bailly and even Rooney we finally have players who take no crap. But Pogba was brilliant and definitely MOTM had Zlatan not scored 2

Most distance covered, most passes, most 'key passes' and most interceptions than anyone on the pitch. And he's probably only about 80% fit. Immense.

He looks tailor made for the Premier League. That physique, that power, those long strides, his calmness when pressed and his ability to retain the ball in those situations. He is monstrous.

It's so nice having a midfielder who can carry the ball and drive attacks forward. Mourinho has given him all the freedom to show what he can do. He must have been incredibly frustrated in that limited role for France this summer. Brilliant player and an impressive debut.

Yeah this sums it up for me also. I don't plan on getting too carried away quite yet and I'm sure he'll have tougher tests against stronger midfields but, if I was watching him play for City or Chelski, I'd be concerned and gutted we hadn't snapped him up.

His class is evident but I wasn't expecting such a confident performance. It's like he's been training for much longer than a couple weeks.

He's like a Rolls-Royce. So darn smooth. The ball sticks to his feet as if he has stickum on his boots. And the ground he covers, he just glides from the halfway-line and he reaches the edge of the box in a blink of an eye.

I'm so excited to see more of him. He's such an incredible talent.

Hull defenders must be absolutely bricking it, I know I would be

He just has everything, driving runs that combine power, pace, agility and technique, strength under pressure, I don't think got disposed once when protecting the ball, he just found a way out and found a pass, and showed good defensive work with some important interceptions. My favorite moment was when he won the ball on the halfway line and from a position on the floor he wriggled up and exploded forward from the ground.

He's a complete and utter Rolls Royce of a CM and a pretty unique one, when people talked about buying two for the same price I think they undervalue just how unusual it is to find a CM with such a complete skill set.
