2 man midfield
Last Man Standing finalist 2021/22
I agree, unless Amorim has had a good look at him and isn’t keen. Mad we sold him in the first placeWould rather went for the summer and just buyback Alvaro

If we wanted to we probably would have already.
I'd love Ait Nouri, but he'll cost closer to 50M.Just use Malacia, this guy can chill at Lecce till summer. Use the 30m for a top player like Ait Nouri.
They demanded the same amount before we were even interestedGuarantee if it was Bournemouth bidding they’d accept £10m. Woodward’s incompetence still lingers.
Chelsea and Spurs were interested before us and were quoted the same fee.Guarantee if it was Bournemouth bidding they’d accept £10m. Woodward’s incompetence still lingers.
Let’s play hard done by please. They demanded the same amount before we were even interested
Works for me. feck them!Let’s play hard done by please.
Who is less of a question mark but within our price range?I agree with you on the timeline but not necessarily the player. Whoever we get for this role is going to be heavily relied on out of the gate so I'd prefer someone who's a little less of a question mark
Really? All stat tables supposedly nail him as a top young talent.Uninspired choice
Alvaro Carreras.Who is less of a question mark but within our price range?
He’s no more further along the track than Dorgu. He’s better on the ball possibly but not as athletic and not as quick.Alvaro Carreras.
INEOS sold him.Alvaro Carreras.
What stat tables, the ones I've seen he is actually awful. Like really bad.Really? All stat tables supposedly nail him as a top young talent.
People were begging for United to sign him over Davies earlier in this thread. Where have they all gone?
Alvaro Carreras.
Exactly, the club already has a very good picture of him and his abilities/potential and chose to look elsewhere. Put 2+2 together...We literally sold him a few months ago, which is a fair indication that he comes with quite a lot of question marks himself.
Not least of which is that for a team desperate to raise the level of physicality in the side, "technically accomplished but mediocre athlete" isn't exactly the ideal profile we want for wingback.
He’s no more further along the track than Dorgu. He’s better on the ball possibly but not as athletic and not as quick.
However, yes he’s cheaper. But I think we’d have done that deal already if we wanted him.
So, other suggestions?
If we spent money on him people would moan that we have Malacia and say we could have got him for nothing in the summer.Kyle Walker-Peters for less than ten million. He’s available on a free in the summer and saints are going down regardless. There’s a very good chance that Dorgu ends up no better than him for a lot more money.
He’s a defender not a wingback. You’re not getting the profile Amorim wants for his wingbacksKyle Walker-Peters for less than ten million. He’s available on a free in the summer and saints are going down regardless. There’s a very good chance that Dorgu ends up no better than him for a lot more money.
Why’s everyone so obsessed with Alvaro, cause he’s cheap?Alvaro Carreras.
Exactly it.Why’s everyone so obsessed with Alvaro, cause he’s cheap?
I'd disagree. He has Champions League, Benfica and Championship experience, along with already been a part of this squad. He's a lot further along the track in terms of experience. He's better at taking players on than Dorgu, whilst registering a top speed of 33km so he's not even as slow as being made out. He's just a better, more compatible, footballer for half the price. He’s no more further along the track than Dorgu. He’s better on the ball possibly but not as athletic and not as quick.

Murtough loaned him out to Benfica with a buy clause in January, It wasn't INEOS.INEOS sold him.
Which INEOS sanctioned seeing as they had sporting control.Murtough loaned him out to Benfica with a buy clause in January, It wasn't INEOS.
A much more technically gifted player with playmaking abilities, exactly what we need from wide positions. Why’s everyone so obsessed with Alvaro, cause he’s cheap?
He’s not a signing that raises the athletic bar. Hence why we haven’t already signed him.I'd disagree.

If so why haven't they bought him? (assuming the buy back is even currently active)A much more technically gifted player with playmaking abilities, exactly what we need from wide positions.
That was up to Murtough, why are you trying to pretend it was INEOS? Is Ratcliffe to blame then?Which INEOS sanctioned seeing as they had sporting control.
Good post. But still, the fact we hear nothing in this direction makes me believe he's either not interested in a return, which would be fair enough, his clause isn't active yet or the Ineos guys still don't rate himI'd disagree.

Because this club has a habit of making the wrong decision when it comes to hiring players maybe? If so why haven't they bought him? (assuming the buy back is even currently active)
Let me put it a different way, we’re looking for dogs of war right now. He’s not that type.A much more technically gifted player with playmaking abilities, exactly what we need from wide positions.
Even if Wolves get relegated?I'd love Ait Nouri, but he'll cost closer to 50M.
Was thinking about a January transfer. No clue if they go down, but could see them holding out for that if they cash in on CunhaEven if Wolves get relegated?
INEOS gained sporting control on Christmas Eve before he was sold. They made the final decision. That was up to Murtough, why are you trying to pretend it was INEOS? Is Ratcliffe to blame then?
Under previous ownership and sporting control, sure. Things are different now and decisions are now made by different personnel.Because this club has a habit of making the wrong decision when it comes to hiring players maybe?
