Agree that he was the best player in the first half but yes we need him on the left. Two inverted wing backs in this system is crazy to me.
Well if we signed him for right wing and amorim is happy with dalots performances at lwb there is no hopeHas he been signed for the left? Do we know that for a fact? Maybe Amorim wanted him for the right wing. He certainly played on the right a lot for Lecce.
Yes it's plausible to disadvantage the whole team because he has played slightly more games on the right this season. Didn't he play further forward on the right anyway? The theory that he was easing him in, given he’s mainly played on he right this season, seems plausible.
That's an exaggeration.Yes it's plausible to disadvantage the whole team because he has played slightly more games on the right this season. Didn't he play further forward on the right anyway?
Seemed pre-planned. He's done it a lot with players since he's been here.Sorry, it's poor management.
Because he’s shite and plays better with Maz in his ear? That makes no sense. Why would Dalot do less damage on the left, rather than his actual position on the right.
Thought he was okay, not sure why they played him and Dalot opposite sides. Surely he can see Dalot is struggling on the left as well, crazy decision.
I’d go as far saying Dalot is the worst player we have.He did ok. The bigger problem for me is Dalot on the left, he shouldn’t be in the team.
Yeah that's really annoying. I was of the opinion that there was not much point complaining about it when Malacia was in poor form and Luke Shaw is still injured, so it was a case of needs must, but I hope we don't see him on that wing for too much longer. He did ok. The bigger problem for me is Dalot on the left, he shouldn’t be in the team.

Mata also, shoehorned to RW his whole United careerIs it just us who seem to buy players for a gaping hole in the squad only to insist on playing them in a different position? Sanchez immediately springs to mind.
I'm sure Amorim knows better than me, but man I was really looking forward to having a LWB who isn't Dalot.
Go as far as the Moon. I like Dalot. But I think he’s being played out of positionI’d go as far saying Dalot is the worst player we have.
Couldn't put it better myself. Inverted wingbacks, no width. Just madness.Agree that he was the best player in the first half but yes we need him on the left. Two inverted wing backs in this system is crazy to me.
Isn't Quenda predominantly left footed as well, but Amorim played him at RWB?
Yep. I was at the game tonight and was thinking Amorim is majorly over complicated it. The bloke who was stood behind me had a much stronger view of what he thought of him!Inverted wing backs in a 3421 is fecking stupid however you try to spin it. Someone tell Ruben he's not in Portugal anymore.
Amorim likes inverted WB's (at Sporting as well), whenever left-footed Amad has started WB it's been on the right, and Dorgu often played from the right, cutting in onto his left foot, at Lecce.
Yes Quenda plays inverted from the right, but I think Amorim played a left-footer on the left generally (might have been down to options obviously). Having both wingbacks invert seems like a bad idea when we have no one else providing width. One is fine if they're comfortable going down the line as well.Isn't Quenda predominantly left footed as well, but Amorim played him at RWB?
We were God awful so it doesnt mean anything. The balance of the team is what matters and it was obvious to inverted wing backs would be harmful to the teamHe was probably our best player in that first half so he was hardly disadvantaging us.
Ah yeah, that was a real waste. Coming off a couple of seasons of running the show at #10, we put the tiny man with no pace .. on the wing.Mata also, shoehorned to RW his whole United career
But we still had two inverted WB's in the second half and played better - the difference was Garnacho did a lot more in the #10 role than Mainoo or Amad did in the first. We were God awful so it doesnt mean anything. He’s awful on the left, he’s awful on the right. But it’s a game of opinions and you’re entitled to yours.Go as far as the Moon. I like Dalot. But I think he’s being played out of position
