They don't have to be 'mercenaries' - any experienced attacking player with an impressive CV, even if ultra committed and determined, is going to be able to command a much higher wage than a 20 year old from a small Italian club with just over 50 games in his career.
That's why we're going to be targeting the latter type, and not players already at the elite level - so that we can be run more like Brighton and Southampton and less like the teams battling to win the CL. We've already got the league position nailed!
He seems a promising prospect. First and foremost, I just hope he can avoid the left footed defender jinx currently at the club - with Shaw, Martinez and Malacia - and actually be fit and available for most games. That would already be a huge boost, and add some balance to the team. After that, with his pace and ability on the ball, hopefully he can help add more attacking threat from the wing back roles.
